Seems like they didn't do anything for Genki's dental issues in the shutdown....😔
@nathanwalschots25883 жыл бұрын
It's not Kyoto's fault for either her teeth or being slow to fix them. Her teeth are like that from the previous zoo she was at where they fed their gorillas too many fruits. Fixing it is very hard as they've said that they'll need to pull all her teeth, which is a very involved surgery including strong anesthetics. AT Genki's age her going under for a surgery like this could result in her not waking up. It has happened to many gorillas in zoos.
@TheFlashyWeasel3 жыл бұрын
@@nathanwalschots2588 shes been there awhile, and they knew of her issues, once she left the other zoo, it became this zoo's responsibility-she has been living in pain a long time, I read they were going to do something about it before Momo got sick. She's obviously very stressed, that is why having another offspring would be a bad idea this zoo has no room for the 4 of them as it is. Shes also obviously due for a health check, they should take care of that now (along with her teeth), now that Kintaro is a bit older.

I've always been curious and finding answer as to why of all gorilla video I've watched on KZbin their place Kyoto zoo, have not much green & grass. Is it because of budget 🤔 and I watch old video of Genki with Gentaro their in a much more smaller closure and indoor space. I love momotaro family so much praying for their health 💜

I believe Kyoto Zoo is classed as a "Listed" building and they are not allowed to expand it so it has to more or less stay as it is. I agree the gorilla unit is not big enough and the animals there should have access to fresh grass etc.

@@paulinedutton9896 the gorilla deserve better. They should give them to a sanctuary if not prove a better more peaceful life for them. People need to show respect for their lives.

@@carlapatton4096 I absolutely agree with you Carla, but this is the way Asian zoos work. They are nothing like our European zoos. Then there's the question of the Stud Manager and what he knows and thinks. The Stud Manager carries a lot of clout where the gorillas are concerned.

If I’m not wrong 🤔 First I heard Kintaro sound before open door. It sounds like Kintaro was fussing . Then door open. Momotaro shaw angry gesture. I heard Genki yell with strong sound. Also loud screaming sound. That screaming was Kintaro ,Isn’t it ? Plus Gentaro was eating calmly like Nothing happened. Also when Gentaro scream ,his sound are more lower like boy puberty voice. Its go “Yaa yaaa” Kintaro go “kyaaa “or “kyeee” So I guess Momotaro gat frustrated because Kintaro was screaming for nothing like terrible 2 toddler 🥴 So dad warned him to”shut up ,” “Enough !”🤔 (I wish my English are ok🤔🙏)

Oh I see . Actually you may be right. The sound is similar to Kintaros’ if I reassume it.
I do agree with you here and don't worry about your English, nobody's perfect. Even as an English speaker myself, I get things wrong from time to time 😄😅

I love this family, but its very dysfunctional. Not normal gorilla behavior. Momo's troop lives in fear of him. Not so of other groups. This point is not arguable. There is years of evidence. Yes, other gorillas fight, but that's not what I'm saying, this is different. No one can tell me the zoos do this to help gorilla population. That's a myth. Just by the nature of putting them in a zoo, you are domesticating them. Only ever choosing the most docile. This is not preserving anything.
@aquarianlight18803 жыл бұрын
I agree but I think it has to do with their enclosure. Does not have enough space and there is too much metal. Also Momotaro did not have a father figure to learn how to be a proper Silverback father
@johnh.mcsaxx36373 жыл бұрын
The average rate it takes for something to become fully domesticated is 2,000 years or over. It took 10-20,000 for dogs, 2-3,000 for horses and cattle, 1-2,000 years for chickens and another 1-3,000 for donkeys. Apes, due to their human-like nature are about as hard to tame as humans. Domesticated humans aren't yet available, though genetic engineering may change that.

He didnt choose to live here with them. Out in the wild the males have their pick of the females and they create their environment. He was forced into this which is unnatural for them. He isnt happy. Ive seen him attack and injure genki many times. He doesnt care much for her. You can really tell when gorillas are very happy. I dont get that sense at all from them. But they are just here for human entertainment. Thrown in this prison so the zoo can charge a bunch of annoying kids to stare and gawk at them.

Genki wont either. Idk how many vids ive seen her prevent kintaro from eating. Shes a fat slob and wants ALL THE FOOD. As similar as they may seem to humans they are still vastly different in really critical ways. Humans will not steal food from their own kids. But gorillas are savage beasts and dont care as much about their kids the way humans do about ours. We put our kids first. Gorillas dont. Only after they are full can the kids scrape the floor for whatever scraps are left. If any.
