Gorillas are mostly muscle-mass, their muscle density is incredibly stronger than ours as we know. At her age, she's probably near or a little under her ideal weight. A lot of the treats while water-based for hydration for the heat was good on one side, but the sugar content for the teeth is the bad side. At least it was diluted by the water content. I suppose you can't have it both ways.

Genki debería ser alimentada separada del resto diariamente, para que pueda comer diferentes alimentos que le aporten una buena nutrición y estar tranquila, ya que con Momotaro dando vueltas se le hace difícil. Ella se lo merece!! ❤

I too worry about another pregnancy for Genki… I am comparing her to Momoko (Momotaro’s mom at Ueno zoo) who is close in age to Genki. She became quite anemic following Sumomo’s birth, as many of you know, and had to be separated from the troop while she recovered. The baby had to be reared by human staff for a while. A similar scenario would be terrible for all concerned in the Momotaro troop, particularly Genki. But, I am an outsider with no direct knowledge in either case, so please excuse me if I am over-generalizing ❤

I wish they would get fed better food, more fruits and vegetables. Why do they just get grasses and leaves? No wonder they are unhealthy and fight frequently. Other zoo gorillas seem to get lots of fruits and vegetables and seem to be a lot more content.

The family is given more veggies and fruits at dinnter time. The zookeepers intentionally feed their rooms inside for the purpose of the whole members equally get them.

Meus dois amores Kintaro e Genki, espero que o Zoo investigue para ter um diagnostico sobre a saúde de Genki, ela está sofrendo em um planeta com tantas tecnologias que utilizamos na medicina veterinária, quando aparece as costas da Genki que vemos o quanto ela está magra e perdeu massa muscular, e acredito também que massa óssea, os tratadores estão gazendo o que podem, mas neo podem substituir o veterinario, estou achando a alimentação dos gorilas pobre, não tem fartura, lamentável. Amo muito meus dois lindos Kintaro e Genki ❤
