Momotaro is getting closer to Genki.
Momotaro was approaching Genki and touching her body. Recently, Momotaro and Genki seem to be getting as close as they were before Kintaro was born.　
Momotaro spends time in a box with Gentaro.
The distance between Momotaro and Gentaro is also getting closer, for better or worse.
Today, Momotaro and Gentaro spent time together in a box.
　
Momotaro is getting to play naturally with Kintaro as well.
As you know, Momotaro is getting much better at inviting Kintaro to play with him.

MOMOTARO & GENKI Family
Father MOMOTARO ♂(2000/7/3)　
He is hesitant in new situations and is a loner.
His father died before he was born, and he had never spent time with a silverback.
He had already turned into a silverback by the time he was 10 years old.
He is struggling with unfamiliar child-rearing.
MOMOTARO's father is BIJU.
MOMOTARO's mother is MOMOKO.
　　
Mother GENKI ♀ (1986/6/24)　　　
She is 14 years older than Momotaro and has a role to support the whole family mentally.
She has had a tumultuous and eventful life.
She has returned to her birthplace, Kyoto City Zoo.
She had never been blessed with a baby but after meeting Momotaro,
she had two sons.
She is a very maternal female gorilla.
GENKI's father is MAC.
GENKI's mother is HIROMI.
First son GENTARO, male (2011/12/21)
He was separated from his mother Genki soon after he was born.
Genki's milk production was not very good.
He was raised by his keeper for his first10 months.
Because of this, he is very fond of humans.
His face is so expressive, and everyone enjoys watching him.
Second son KINTARO ♂ (2018/12/19)
He is just very strong-willed and independent.
He has big eyes and long eyebrows.
The way he plays a lot with his brother Gentaro makes everyone smile.
We can't wait to see what kind of gorilla he'll become!

Love seeing the family so close and comfortable. Do we know why Gentaro had a separate room reserved for him? I’m wondering if it’s getting him used to spending time separated from his family in light of his eventual departure? Nice to see Momo casually and comfortably touching Genki and Kintaro and spending time physically close to all his family members. Kintaro appears most comfortable and natural I find with his Dad. I think they have a special bond. I think that’s sometimes why Momo seems a bit jealous of Gen and Kin’s closeness. 🦍♥️

There are issues on finding a female in another zoo that the other zoo will agree to give. A lot of politics and selfish financial reasons in other zoos. Sad.

Man gentaro looks just like his mama genki. It's kinda sad that she wasn't as close to him as she is kentaro she thought she was only a step mom to him she forgot she gave birth to him

Genki loves Gentaro. She is not a step mom. That is her baby. Her focus is on the baby 24/7. This is how it is with humans too. The baby is first. Sad for Gentaro but the reality.

@@lizzyyorkI agree……Don’t know what kind of engineer designed this enclosure but it is horrible and they obviously, know nothing about Gorillas and what they need. Genki has had enough babies and besides, where would they put it? They are stepping over each other now!And, the keepers never clean it up! The clutter, in an already too small enclosure drives me nuts. I need to go over there and clean for these Gorillas 😅 How long have those empty flowerpots been rolling around in there 😠🙄
