Oh my heart❣ It's so wonderful to see these two sharing such a loving moment. I think Effie had a tough time just after Venus was born, but it seems she's fallen in love with her strong, confident little girl.🥰 And who can blame her - Baby V is just the sweetest little thing. 😍🤩 Thanks for sharing this beautiful video. 🙏😃

Effie was far more loving towards Venus than ever before. I also felt a small shift with Venus. She was climbing very high at times and just didn't feel so much that she was a baby. Juno also seems 'older'. I haven't been able to film Juno and Mjukuu much over the last month. I think they go to their private area or behind the tree logs, I'm not sure how to describe this, the climbing frame has lots of tree trunks, and we can't see behind it well. Not with my camera, really. But I have a lot to upload of Effie and Venus so watch this place and please like and subscribe if you like my videos. Thank you for sharing a new video! I never questioned Effie's dedication to her baby. It's true that we can see more footages about overprotecting gorilla moms, and that's what move people, but it's unfair to criticize and blame other gorillas who don't hold their offspring tight on their chest 24/7. Venus seems to be a bold little lady, I can hardly wait to see her and Juno play together.

@latralla4577, do you ever watch Harry's Animal Kingdom? I think that's the name? Cleveland gorilla troop with babies Jameela, Kayembe and Kunda? I will explain later, but in the meantime, I have a question. What would you think is going on if you came across a little round bundle of fur, rolling about on the floor with four feet and four arms? I will leave you with that thought and take my childs to college. Then, I will try to edit and put a couple of new lovely cute videos later. Thank you as always 😊

@@Ape_Appreciation Larry's Animal Safari? Of course, I watch his videos - actually, Venus looks like Jameela, Juno looks like Kunda, and the moms are similar too, Freddie is as laidback as Effie, Kebi is as overprotective as Mjukuu 🙂 I'm not sure I understand properly your other question, but now that I've seen a bunch of baby ape-videos, I would think two infant chimps are having a good time - or Kayembe kidnapped Jameela again! 🤣
@Ape_Appreciation4 ай бұрын
@@latralla4577you are close. Have you seen the video when Jameela was playing with a green plastic looking tub. Then kunda and mum walked into the same area. It looked to me that Kunda saw Jameela and lunged herself across the bucket and out of it on the side where Jameela was. It was quick! Then they immediately had a little wrestle. Poor Jameela was so shocked. Then when the mums tried to pull them apart, it looked like pulling on two strong magnets that don't want to be separated until enough force was used and they literally popped apart? It was very cute. Well ton Monday Juno and Venus did the exact thing, they rolled around like a little ball of fluff, hands and feet. And even though Venus is bigger, Juno is sparky and strong! I will try to publish it soon. I'm so slow at editing but I'm getting better at it. Thans for your comments and for often having my back when I was struggling with negative comments and helping me see it was frustration rather than an attack on me. It's getting better. 😅
@latralla45774 ай бұрын
@@Ape_Appreciation Sure, I've seen that one too! It was super entertaining and also amazing to witness another "fatal attraction" between two tiny primates when they see each other. Jameela was really a baby, and for me it seems she's a little cute princess, not assertive at all (although Kayembe has started to "train" her, so she's getting used to the wrestling games) - while Kunda seems to be a real tomboy, a fearless little energy bomb. Of course, their personalities and the dynamics among the three kids may change a lot in the future. We have seen far fewer interactions between Venus and Juno, but we really look forward to watching the footage you took about their wrestling session! Take your time, there's no rush, practice that editing work, your videos are getting better and better, especially with the descriptions and the background music! 🥰

@Ape_Appreciation4 ай бұрын
@beckyhodges4287, thanks again for asking this question. I don't know for sure how long Alika had Venus or how many times over that week. I know that since then I have not seen or heard anything that would make me think its happened again. The Curator of Animals, who is the person I spoke to told me that their cut off point for intervening would be if Alika had Venus for four hours. That would be the point that Venus would need a feed from Effie. He also said they didn't need to intervene because the gorillas sorted it out between them. The plan would be to separate Alika and offer her her favourite food or enrichment. They would not have removed her from the troop. Why didn't Effie take her back? I was told, and have read about this as well, that at around 5 to 6 months, the babies tend to start wondering further from mum and start interacting with other members of the troop. This is an important aspect of troop life and for adolescents who need to learn how to become parents. So that part is completely normal, I am sure like me, you have seen lots of videos of adolescents interacting, playing with, and holding babies. I know none of them treat the babies quite like Alika did. Alika is a big girl, and for me, looking from a human point of view, it's easy to forget she is only ten, although I realise that is not an excuse. She has never seen another baby before these two, whereas other troops are often bigger. I dont know. I do think she wasn't trying to hurt Venus or torture her. She could easily pull her apart in seconds if she wanted to. I think perhaps she got over excited because she had finally been allowed to have the baby, and because of that, she didn't want to give her back. Effie is the least dominant member of the troop (could be corrected if I got that wrong), and Alika is the daughter of the most dominant. The curator also told me that although you can clearly see that Venus was scared, she didn't cry out. If she did, the whole troop would have come running. It was also the troop that helped Effie get her baby back. In the video, when Alika was clearly getting over excited and rough, Effie did get her to calm down by sitting right next to them and placing her hand on Alika. I know many people will be incensed about what I have written here, but those are the things we discussed, and I believe Venus is OK. Probably traumatised, you can see clearly in my videos that when Alika comes near, Venus runs to Effie and grabs her, and Effie, too, is very aware of where Alika is. It is very upsetting to see that, and the evidence in the video is awful. I feel desperately sorry that Venus was treated that way. Physically, she is incredibly strong, but it scared her, and I feel very sad about that. However, had the zoo run in and removed either Alika or Venus, the damage would have been massive, and there was no need to. If people say 😊Effie is not a demonstrative mum or has some strange psychological issues, it will be because she was hand reared. There are reams of evidence on the damage handrearing wild animals in captivity causes. The way they approach handrearing has changed with the aim of getting an infant back to the troop within a month. What took place was a normal part and an important part of troop life and learning and although it was scarey and awful, the baby is stronger than any of us realise. I feel sad. Before it happened, Venus was so inquisitive and was eager to approach her sister, but I don't think Alika was ready for the responsibility and I wish it hadn't happened but we need to move on and enjoy this family again. I hope what I have said makes sense. It is a mixture of my opinion, what I interpreted from my discussion with the curator. I am not trained and the things I know are from you tube, documentries and movies. I really hope I don't get a bunch of hate. I don't think I deserve it. We are allowed our opinions, even the people who dislike me for wanting to move on and for believing the zoo is a reputable institution. I guess I have to take the chance. Please feel free to agree or disagree, it is OK, but hopefully we can just let us all have our own thoughts without being nasty to each other. Have a great evening Becky and please ask if you have further questions.

Thank u for ur thoughtful answer I appreciate it. I know that because the gorillas are so human like especially the babies we tend to humanize them more than we should we do need to remember that they are critters and in the wild there would be no one to intervene I guess they do handle things in their own way obviously because Venus is perfectly fine I hope it doesn’t happen any more tho!

The baby climbed up under Effie. Effie thankfully didn't knock her away this time. Then Effie walked off and left the baby alone, which is typical of Effie. You've contorted that to somehow convey "Effie showing love for baby Venus" which is quite a stretch. We can be thankful the baby isn't being allowed to be beaten by Alika, and Effie didn't push her off the platform, because she doesn't want the baby touching her as usual. That would be the appropriate title for this video. You're trying to manipulate and create a false narrative. Unfortunately for you and the zoo, we have eyes and we can see. I'm glad the baby is still alive, though. Not being battered is NOT love.
@Ape_Appreciation4 ай бұрын
@loony, if that is what you think you saw, then that is what you think you saw. As someone who is very new to KZbin, it has been difficult to read such negativity from some commenters. I have desperately tried to help people who don't appear to be able to move on from what they saw in a video that was indeed awful to watch from over a month ago. Not because I want to hide something, but because I do interpret what I have seen as a positive since then, even if it is far from perfect. I also know that not being a gorilla myself, yes I am not Effie or Alika trying to change the worlds impression of me, I would probably misinterpret their body language I'd like to say LESs than most of the time. I can't hear their grumbles or shrieks 🤔, or smell them, which is also how they communicate. I can see their mouths, which helps a little. Mostly because when they are angry or upset, they show lots of scary teeth in a grimace you can't miss! (I would say the Shabani troop in Japan has many examples of that, or closer to home, the video that you/cute animals channel/someone took of the ladies of this troop who had a fight when Mjukuu pulled a bit of skin off Effies foot!). I'm willing to say I don't know what is going on with them a lot of the time, as I think most people in the world would be the same, unless they have studied and worked with them for years. So if there are moments in a video where I had hoped Effie would rescue Venus sooner off a bouncing fire hose that her son is shaking, I'm not going to dwell on it. I am not going to be able to change the mindset of more than 99% of the time, and it's taken a month to realise it. I know me, though, and on days where I'm sad, I will probably fall into this trapp again. Probably today. I hope not because it's just silly. Thank you for watching. You could get notifications so that then you can continue with your messages in life while I continue mine. I mean, that's life, a balance of everything! I guess it's too cheeky to ask for a subscribe and like my videos? 🤔 It's definitely, probably too much to ask. Have a lovely day. I hope it's a good one. 😊

@Ape_Appreciation I will bet it hasn't been nearly as difficult for you to read some of our comments, as it has been for the viewers to watch the neglect and abuse and even outright violence perpetrated on tiny babies. I have literally screamed out loud "No, no... please stop" and ended up in tears. These are babies. They deserve to be protected by all who are in their world, because they are helpless and innocent and completely vulnerable to whatever the world throws at them, and helpless to do anything about it. Effie rejected her 2 previous babies, according to viewers comments. And they were raised by other gorillas in the troop. This time, there should have been an effort to find a kind and loving foster mom so that the baby could get hugs and affection and be made to feel secure. But the zoo didn't bother, and that poor thing has raised herself and suffered for it.

Huh? 🤷🏽♀️ Sorry, but Imo this Video **DOES NOT** show any display by Effie of her “LOVE for baby Venus” 🙄 Quite the contrary. If Anything, the video shows AS USUAL Effie’s INATTENTIVENESS and INDIFFERENCE to the baby. In Fact, isn’t this Effie the Very Same Gorilla who ALLOWED her baby to be Picked up by Another female Gorilla in the troop and basically tortured and abused???? The zoo went Curiously SILENT after the Alleged Incident and absolutely Refused to offer much Insight on the matter, leaving Viewers and Subscribers to draw their Own conclusions. In any case, @MillieMills you’re Definitely OFF on the Title of this video.
@latralla45774 ай бұрын
Try to take time and read some of MillieMills's long and detailed answers to commenters under previous videos. It wasn't the zoo that didn't offer insight about those scenes, actually they released an official explanation. It was the other video distributor who started panicking then left viewers without answers and let them draw their own conclusion by shutting down the comment wall, and that's how false information and misinterpretation of the situation spread quickly.

@renewashington791 Thank you for watching the video. As I was at the zoo and was watching the gorillas while filming, I witnessed a lot of love between Effie and her baby. Therefore, I stand by the title of this video. I'm sorry that you don't see that but it is only 2 minutes long and if you started watching it with that pre conceived belief, it isn't long enough to be able to show you otherwise and I understand that. It does upset me when people think I am trying to cover up some sort of terrible ordeal going on in this troop and happily publish it on KZbin, but I'm getting used to it now. If you have further questions, please feel free to ask, and I will try to explain what was happening at the time I was filming. It can often help to understand the tiny bit of life you witnessed through knowing why they were in that part of the exhibit, what they were waiting to do, and where the other gorillas were.
