All there stuff has and in another 15 or 20 years there will be the same comments about their last 4 more recent records including the brand new one cracker island which I realize may be an unpopular opinion atm but confident it will age well as it is still there sig aesthtic and will make a brand new Gen of kids into super fans. I think people are partial to the album that they first discovered regardless and biased against anything that is different than that one that's most special to them with a lot of people. A lot of negative comments about the new one but I think it's masterful in how it begins and progresses grabbing your hand with the very first notes and taking you on the entire journey of the album giving just as a unique experience as that happened to me and I had with their very first drop 20 years ago. Been a huge fan from the beginning guess life and busy adulting is maybe why I lost track and never heard there amazing progressive more recent work. It's been fun revisiting their entire catalog discovering the new stuff and going back to the foundations they have built on theouout their extraordinary careers amd albums. Think I'll be on a gorillaz kick for awhile. There are no bad albums or songs !hahhah

@@miunya L M A O imagine reading one passing comment on a youtube video and thinking you have the *entire human race* figured out. I don't really do mushrooms anymore, and my life is equally as grand and full of laughter; was just reminiscing on a memory, as music tends to inspire. Secondly, humans aren't the only species to experiment with hallucinogenic drugs found in nature, so it's not really a "humans being sad" thing, as it is a curiosity of a majority of sentient species..... Thanks for your incredibly shallow philosophical musings though, babe. Just say you think you're better than people who experiment with psychedelics and move on; we all know you're thinking it. It's incredible to me that I was recalling a positive memory, and you made a conscious effort to make it a bad thing, but somehow everyone around you is sad? Edit: you should read up on the psychological benefits of psilocybin. might change your perspective on the human condition, or just assist in removing whatever is up your ass

Today is 13th anniversary of Plastic Beach. I feel so incredibly dumb for not appreciating this album sooner than I did. I was more so a Demon Days fan obsessed with Feel Good Inc, and Clint Eastwood fan. But now after listening through Gorillaz’s discography, this might actually be No.1 for me now. I’m really impressed with David Albarns work on this. From Superfast Jellyfish to Empire Ants, and to On melancholy hill. Sweepstakes is underrated. Empire Ants makes me wanna tear up ๐·°(৹˃̵﹏˂̵৹)°·๐ No.1 Plastic Beach No. 2 Demon Days No. 3 The Now Now Update: Yesterday was the 14th anniversary of Plastic Beach. I don’t have much else to add, I don’t listen to Gorillaz as often as I use to but I still love them regardless. It’s crazy how much I been through since I left this comment. I went through how painful unrequited love is and I never wish for someone to go through it, it’s been 3 months and I feel only now that I’m healing again, i still wish me and her could see each other again. As of writing this I said goodbye to her 30 minutes ago and feel a little empty in my heart. But it’s fine I’ll find someone who will appreciate my efforts and love. It hurts but you just have to keep moving forward. Happy Birthday Plastic Beach. 2:51pm March 4 24 Monday

I remember when this album came out. Everyone said it was weak. Maybe because Gorlliaz had 99/2000 and Clint Eastwood and Demon Days had Feel Good Inc., Dare and Dirty Harry but look at the other tracks those albums had especially the beloved first album; Gorlliaz, you can't say that was as strong song by song even if it did have those couple of bangers. Empire Ants, Plastic Beach, Some Kind of Nature... none of these tracks get the love they deserve because they are "mainstream' but they take us away to different places and emotions. It's refreshing to see this album in 2023 get the props it deserves when I remember when it came out people wanted popcorn, this album isn't no popcorn, you have to experience the beauty and genius of a lot of these tracks over time.
