I was going to say the same thing. It's honestly so sweet. We see so much hardship that young man in a kid's body has been through, and we see so few moments of joy for him. And Epona neighing and swooshing her tail when she sees him too is also adorable. They honestly might be each other's best friends in the entire world.

@@crankylink13 We don't like to talk about the Majora's Mask 3DS remake. Death by a thousand cuts (and a few major miscalculations). Grezzo did so well with Ocarina, I think maybe they got a little too big for their breeches and thought they could tweak way too much about MM. They were so worried about the save system, but I honestly think it would have been all-around better if they'd just left even that alone. Unfortunately, N64 is still the best version

@@chompythebeast think the biggest issues with the 3ds version is they didn't understand that the bosses are kinda meant to be easier to beat, since you at times have to go back in time and refight them. The first two are... Okay but the fish is downright worse and Twinmold was unnecessary. That and some bizzare changes to controls.

Seeing Link smile is a rare occasion outside of the item get animation, so the fact that the US/EU version had a cutscene where Link finds Epona and actually smiles happily is all the more wholesome. If I'd have known that long jumps worked to get across that gap in the graves in Ikana Graveyard, I wouldn't have had to use Bombchu hovering to get over to the area that's for the first day (I forgot about the stuff in the graveyard on day 1, and had to get the stuff on day 2).

I just realised that Darmani has different tattoos than Goron Link has and that symbol is unique to that form. So it being a combination of a Goron symbol and the Hylian crest makes sense as Link is himself a Hylian. It's a neat touch.

Yes. It lets you know that whilst he may be a Goron at that time, his true form is Hylian. It makes me wonder how the Elder and his son (or any of the other Gorons) didn't notice. Someone will have tattooed Darmani at some point.

You can actually complete a heart container as Deku Link within the 1st 3 day cycle. You can obtain these 4 heart pieces in Clock Town as Deku Link during this cycle. The 1st one can be obtained on the Clock Tower deck after trading the Moon’s Tear. The 2nd one can be obtained by winning the postman’s game on nights 1 and 2. The 3rd one can be obtained by trading the title deed at the inn after midnight. The 4th one can be obtained by winning the Deku Playground game 3 times each day.

A cool thing for a part 10 video, there is a alternate opening cutscene starting on romani ranch, after the game start and before normal cutscene play, press start two times to go to the file select, then just press B to go back to the altenate opening cutscene.

Being from Wales, i noticed that Goron means ‘Crown’ in Welsh, and the Goron logo looks like a crown so i’ve always wondered if there’s a connection there. Never been able to find any proof!

That's really neat! However, in this case, "Goron" comes from the Japanese onomatopoeia for "rolling" which is simply "goron". They were named for the action they perform. Also, the Goron Crest is meant to resemble a dinosaur foot or more specifically a Dodongo foot.

there's supposed to be a unique version of the cutscene where the clock tower opens up at midnight. I've read you're either supposed to be inside the observatory, in the fenced in area outside the observatory, or in the underground tunnel to the observatory. I don't think I've managed it myself so take it with a grain of salt

So you can get an alternate cutscene if you're out in Termina Field as well. I did it with the Deku Scrub skip when gathering rupees in Termina Field

Do you know about the alternative animation for Skull Kid when you get the Moon Tear? I think it's either last day or night of the third day, he'll have his head cocked sideways, shaking without any other reaction to the Moon Tear coming down. The devs left a lot of optional easter eggs! I can't think of another Nintendo game with more optional content than Majora's Mask.

This unique cutscene is only available during the first 3-day cycle. To obtain it naturally, you have to be outside the Observatory when the clock hits midnight. The reason for this cutscene is because being in that spot is considered "outside of Clock Town" like the rest of Termina Field, and likely because they didn't want players to miss out on their first eve of the carnival by not being in Clock Town where the normal cutscene plays, they made this special version of it that only plays the first time, so as to not interrupt gameplay every single time midnight of the final day hits while outside. They likely did this by creating a different state for Termina Field that only exists in the first cycle (no music, no enemies) which is coded to play the cutscene when it's due, and all subsequent cycles use the usual state Termina Field uses with all its objects loaded.

The tat is exclusive to Goron Link, Darmani's tats are different from his. So the one who is the fusion of Goron and royalty (or Hyrule) is Link.

They did though? You play the Song of Soaring in the dungeon and it takes you to the entrance. Unless that’s not what you meant.

@@astrocreep6333 You can use Farore's to return to a specific room in the dungeon, though, can't you? Might have been useful, especially with the timer and all. But I also never used Farore's, like, _ever,_ though I do remember Soaring back to the Entrance in MM's larger dungeons, especially after collecting the Stray Fairies

@@chompythebeast The practical uses I've found for Farore's Wind are similar in nature to the abuse of voiding out by elemental weakness shown in the video. Especially the use I've found for it in the Fire Temple, which is casting it as you enter the room with the Megaton Hammer chest in case you fall. Other than that, the big ones are casting it upon entering the first twisted hallway in the Forest Temple after untwisting it, so you can warp back after grabbing the small key you get from falling down instead of having to loop back through the big vertical room, casting it upon exiting the door that leads to the switch in the Water Temple that brings the water level all the way up, and casting it in the room before the boss in the Shadow Temple, since the boss hits hard and the Ferry of Death can get annoying if you have to go through it multiple times.

Now all we need is a glitch that lets us get the Heart Pieces in Goron Village, Lulu's room, and Ikana Canyon without giving the title deeds to the Business Scrubs, then we can ignore them altogether. Like that will ever happen.

Well, dreams do come true. Bomb hovering is a thing, and the requirements to do so are met at all of the locations where Business Scrubs are located. Yes, you can just get all the heart pieces without any need to do any trade sequences.

(Water temple) Just ice with the ice arrow infront of the boss key window and jump up as zora, no bombs needed. And the tattoo is: Link is Hylian Goron is from the goron tribe which gives you both symbols combined

You can also overcome the fences along the road to Ikana, but you need the Garo Mask for the ghost guy to let you up the wall. Though I guess if we're talking exploits why not go for full-on glitches and bomb hover up the wall?

Here's another one: When you challenge the beavers for the first time you are forced to be in Zora Link Form because the young Beaver dive to the bottom of the water. HOWEVER, when you challenge them for a second time, you can challenge them in any form and you can't change it once the race start.

Back again! I’ll just keep adding this until hopefully you see it and put it in a future video: During the fight with Majora’s Mask, when you get to Majora’s Wrath, if you do enough damage for it to start attacking you with the lasso tentacles, change into Deku Link. Because Deku Link is small and light, when Majora’s Wrath throws you over its shoulder, you can actually fly across the entire arena. If aimed just right, you can get it to throw you into the alcove where Majora’s Mask is stuck to the wall at the very beginning of the fight. This makes it nearly impossible for Majora to hit you. This is only doable in the N64 version. On 3DS they patched it and there’s an invisible barrier over the alcove.

Fun Fact: The Goron Crest is meant to resemble the footprint of a Dodongo! The Goron Ruby was made to resemble said crest. The Spiritual Stones were likely made by their respective races in cooperation with the Hyrule Royal Family as a way to protect the Sacred Realm. Each stone was made to resemble the crest of each tribe.

You can actually do a reverse bomb jump as well. If you roll off a ledge with the bomb mask on and blow up when you reach the ledge, Link will go into the jump animation but fly backwards!

The difference is not just the cutscene itself, but the position of Link when the player regains control. Maybe that’s the main part they wanted to change by redoing the sequence.
