There's actually one different spawn location for Adult Link. If you get arrested before getting the Hookshot, you wouldn't really have any way to escape so instead of jail, they throw you outside the fortress.

A guard can arrest you in the jail. Once you get arrested, the game will reload the map and spawn you in the jail like normal. Since the map reloads, the manually spawned guard will despawn.

IIRC, the guards throw you in the river if you don't have the hookshot regardless of your age. It's to prevent you from getting softlocked if you go to the fortress with Epona. Also, I'm pretty sure the guards inside the fortress will throw child Link into the prison as well, though the only guards that are there as a child are the stationary ones and the ones you fight.

You'd need an assembly-level debugger to try to figure out why some of these things happen, but it's most likely pointer errors. The guard is trying to run some code that's making assumptions about memory locations which are no longer safe when placed in an unintended place. The guard code is expecting a cut scene or level data to load in a certain memory address, so when you trigger the guard on the title screen that part of RAM actually has these other cut scenes in it at different times. The other effects are probably just null pointers and missing data, trying to read trash.

This is exactly what speedrunners abuse when wrong warping. They first trigger a cutscene by activating the blue warp, then proceed to leave the room, but instead of the correct value being in the memory, other values are replaced by the cutscene and thus lead Link somewhere else. It's exactly the same when SwankyBox tries to activate the Gerudo guards while in a cutscene.

As far as I'm aware, there is no flag in the game's code for defeating Ganon. The only thing that defeating Ganon does is that it tells the game to play the end cutscene. So if you interrupt the end cutscene, the game would think that you never even started the fight, let alone finished it.

I’ve always wondered why link surrenders when he’s caught… Literally he can defeat the entire castle guards in single handed combat as stated in the “sent back to your childhood timeline” He literally showed up at the age of 10 and beat every single knight Zelda’s army had. I’d wager it’s more that the game put Link into the Lost Woods map, but with the wrong room loaded (maybe the first room you enter when entering Lost Woods from Kokiri), which is why everything is unloaded except Link. I recall speed runners doing a lot of tricks that involve the wrong room being loaded, and the camera in that cutscene doesn’t really give us a good view of where the first room is. The collision is always present even if the room is unloaded, so Link wouldn’t be falling. All the actors and visuals for that room are just unloaded. As for the Ocarina, my guess is maybe that dream cutscene has the ocarina of time force-loaded, so Zelda can throw it in a different setup for that scene? That’s just a wild guess tho.

4:27 This is wrong warping. The simplified version; if a cutscene with a map change and another unrelated map change happen at once, their offsets can get added together and you are sent to some other entrance point in the game, sometimes a glitched one, and sometimes with a cutscenes of its own attached to it. This is the same glitch that is responsible for how speedrunners do that thing in Gohma's room and exit the boss room, and wind up in Ganon's castle during the collapse sequence. "Ganondoor" as it is sometimes called

Kid link getting thrown off the bridge is likely a fail safe. Think about the issue mechanically for just a moment, how would kid link escape the cell? Glitches, save warps, and warp songs are all i can think of. Glitches is reasonable enough in the context of needing glitches to even encounter the issue, but we also dont know the full extent of development. Maybe at some point, the bridge guard was not there, and was added in as a way to scrap the need for dealing with the guard warp. Warp songs are a tame enough answer, but one that also requires becoming an adult first, at which point they can likely do the fort as intended. Finally, that leaves save warping. As the catch all fail safe it makes sense, but a casual player might not realize it is an option at first. As for the warps to ruined market, my guess is that it is, more times than not, where the world origin is located (0,0). Why it does not always work is the biggest question, unless it has something to do with map layers and warping on a layer of map where ruined market doesnt exist. As for explaining the guards and using the sword, i always interpreted it as link using the hilt of his blade to knock a guard unconscious when unseen, but it was too early in video game history to validate a unique animation for such a niche use. Link surrenders because he does not want to inflict undue harm on the guards who dont know any better. They are still people, not monsters.

So, I think the reason that they yeet Young Link off a bridge has to do with lore. Remember, the Gerudo tend to find boyfriends in Hyrule Castle Town. Knowing this, my guess is that they aren't throwing Link in jail for punishment reasons, they're throwing him in to force him into a Death by Snu-Snu situation. As for why they don't do it to Young Link, they don't Death by Snu-Snu children, they Death by Bridge.

8:20 I think this is because that cutscene triggers when you go to the bridge area or to any area not within the Kokiri Forest or the opening cutscene unless a flag that says you’ve watched that particular cutscene with Saria has been triggered, which only occurs once that cutscene has reached the end, at which point you automatically get sent to Hyrule Field. However, it doesn’t actually load the bridge area or the correct music properly if you don’t go there from Kokiri Forest. As for why the Ocarina of Time rather than the Fairy Ocarina, I’m guessing that that’s because the intro cutscene is still loaded, and they use the same assets for that cutscene as they do for the cutscene where Zelda throws that Ocarina for Link to pick up. Essentially, they’re playing the bridge cutscene using those two cutscenes assets. Between them, the only assets that are shared are Young Link (obviously) and the Ocarina, just with a different texture. That’s my theory, anyways.

Just goes to show that the event of 'spotted by Gerudo Guard object' always runs the same functions of: 1. Play whistle sound 2. Disable player controls 3. Link puts hands up 4. Iris out transition 5. Despawn Link from current position 6. Spawn Link in Gerudo Fortress Jail, in knock-back position 7. Iris in transition 8. Enable player controls. I mean, there's probably a lot more than that to it, but you get the idea. It appears the memory address for the arrest function changes, depending on the game state.

Link does not always get thrown into jail as adult, it actually depends on whether he has something on his hookshot slot (hookshot or longshot unless you glitch) if he doesn't have anything on it he gets thrown out in the valley.

This is kind of grim, but the reason for why the spawn location might be different is that they plan to "use" adult Link. Child Link is just a child and as such can't be used in that way so useless to them. So throw him off a Bridge to his death
