For many of our young patients that are healthy and uninjured, the best possible outcome is being returned to their natural parents. When that isn’t possible, we seek foster families for some waterfowl and raptor species. Two Canada goslings were brought to us for care by our friends at Lums Pond Animal Hospital after they were found orphaned.
A suitable foster family of Canada Geese was found and soon these fluffy youngsters were on their way to their new family. Many factors are considered in fostering young birds, and the introduction is carefully monitored. All that work results in this moment-the fluffy youngsters meeting and heading off into the wild with their new family!
