My step father used to play the hinsons every Sunday morning to wake us up to get ready for church my step dad since went to be with the lord and its 2023 this song brings back memories of a better time

My heart goes back to that little trailer house at Crab Orchard Lake in Carbondale Illinois, and I got down by my bed and prayed again for Jesus to save me. Oh I'd joined a church I had been baptized but I knew I didn't have what that preacher had that had just invited me to his revival. He had a power radiating from him that I was missing and I said Lord whatever he's got I want it and oh I got it. I hope you have it, if you do you will know what I'm talking about. I thank God for the light house that's still shining bright after 44 years.

I loved the Henson's...My sister and I sang a lot of their songs...She went to heaven June 28, 2017...after along battle with Alzheimer's. We always sang together, from age 5 until age 73!! She sang the harmony! We loved the Hansons's...sang a lot of their songs!! was so sad when the main singer when to heaven!! They were a 'Great' group!!

I've loved The Hinsons since I first heard them in 1975. It was a sad day when Kenny was diagnosed with cancer and went to Heaven in 1995. I saw them every time they came to Augusta. Kenny was so special that God wanted him to sing the the heavenly choir. His brother, Ronnie wrote this song without even knowing what a lighthouse looked like in 1966. The whole Hiinson Family is gifted and serves the Lord. I miss you Kenny. God Bless The Hinsons and The New Hinsons. Gwen Weaver

I seen The Singing Hinson Family, in about 1974 in Salinas, California at the Salinas High School. They performed The Lightnouse. I have loved that song so very much, it got me through my mother's and brother death, and the heartbreak of a painful divorce. Thank you

I first met the Hinsons at Plainview Congregational Holiness Church in Piedmont, Alabama when they were teenagers, before they got "famous" and right after Ronnie wrote "The Lighthouse"...It is wonderful how they grew up knowing, loving, and serving the Lord with the talent He gave them! They didn't hide or bury it but let it flow for God's Glory!

So sorry to hear about the passing of their brother Calvin. Although Calvin did not sing with them, I had the pleasure of knowing him and attending church with him and his wife Geneva. When Geneva wasn't there for any reason, Calvin would ask me to sing with him. I consider it a great honor, not because he was a Hinson, but because he was a wonderful, christian man who loved the Lord. He sang from his heart, not to impress anyone, but simply to glorify God with his talent. I will always miss him, and have great memories of him.

I was totally amazed several years ago when I heard this song was written on a peice of toilet paper and they thought it wouldn't do very much so they threw it away twice. I don't think I heard the whole story but they said they threw it away twice and got it out both times. now taht song has touched millions in America and possibly world wide lnog before ht einternet was ever even heard of by the general public!
