Wow, this one really stands out. Wide nut, concert scale, that's my kind of soprano. And I would say fully, but not over priced. Regarding bookmatching, flame/quilted maple, figured mahogany, yes, bookmatch absolutely. But this grain with this figuring and coloring looks great to me, as is. Bookmatching that streaking pattern would seem almost too uniform compared to the natural look it has now. A great review. One of your best and on an amazing uke. Yes, I'm rambling too.

I am in love, perhaps literally, with my bespoke LoPrinzi Concert. I have nothing negative to say about it, and if I laid out all the positives here it would probably look like unseemly gushing. It isn't my most expensive uke, but it's indisputably my best one. I _have_ to mention that the price was well in line with the lower end of some very big-name factory and workshop instruments. I don't know how she does it, and I plan on going back to her for a baritone before long.

The tone sounds to me like a "wash" of notes in a really good way. Very balanced, sweet. I would especially like to hear this duetting with a different instrument. I have a feeling it could be delightful. Wait ! Here's an idea , Baz. A video or two on how to match different ukes for duets and maybe larger ensembles? (As if you did not have enough to do!)

Beautiful instrument. I prefer it non-bookmatched, myself. Sorta wabi sabi touch! Very fair pricing all around for a custom luthier in the USA--I may eventually get in touch for a baritone, but for that I may need to save a bit more.

Just by chance I went to our local ukulele shop about 30 miles away. I needed to verify what kind of strings my soprano had, and I wanted to try out a pineapple shape to see if I liked it. Well, it is sort of like trying on shoes - so many choices to play with while in the store - different tone woods - and I found a few I liked. And tried a tenor - I don't have one - and not even thinking about the brand, I fell in love. Lo and behold - a LoPrinzi koa tenor, probably class A though it has MOP circling the sound hole. I am now the proud owner of a very beautiful tenor, at a reasonable price, a beautiful sound with beautiful wood. How lucky I am! Thanks for your reviews, Matt, and have a great time celebrating your birthday.

I like the grain and looks of this one. Binding is nice as well. I love the soprano and this one looks great. 38 mill is ok but I do like the standard being 35mill. I don’t really like the long neck on a soprano but it is ok. Love the pegs and headstock. The price is a little high but yes it is hand made. As per the sound it is rhythmic as you say. I really like the sound. I prefer the strumming but it all really good…. Great instrument…. Thanks Boz…. DOC

I'm not an expert but as I understand it isn't the size category of a ukulele determined by the scale length, so wouldn't it be more accurate to describe this as a small body concert rather than a long neck soprano? Then again it could all just be semantics but I bought a long neck tenor with a 19 inch scale length and came to realize that I enjoy playing it more if I think of it as a small body baritone. As a novice it can all be a little confusing when the sizes "hybrid" - does this instrument get strung with soprano length strings or concert?
@GotAUkulele7 ай бұрын
Yes, it would indeed

Again nice review. As someone who sold timbre for over twenty years, book matching is not for everything. This timbre has a uniqueness and wildness to it. Let it flow on both sides. That’s what gives it its beauty. Great tee shirt. I think you spelled ‘Tory’ incorrectly. It’s spelled T-R-U~M-P. Oops, I forgot, no politics when discussing ukes.
