This is just a simple video on how "I" set up my water bath canner for a water bath canning session of high acid foods. This is just to help out anyone who may be new to water bath canning, to show them a bit of the canning process before and after a canning session. Set up, prep, clean-up. I hope this helps someone and as always, if you have any questions, leave them down in the comment section for me and I will try my best to answer them.

I am a culinary school graduate from way back in the day. We learned all there was to know about canning. You have surpassed the teaching we received and refreshed my memory on this timeless skill.I hope you read old comments so you will know you have become my most very favorite channel.

You are just so sweet. I have only recently started watching your channel but I think of you almost daily and what you must be going through. As a wife and mother I so empathize with you and pray for you. You were so brave in your videos but I think its because you were still in shock and you felt you owed everonr an explanation of where you had been, but please know that all any of us really want is for you and your children to recover from your physical injuries and feel our love as you recover from your heart aches. Just feel our love and know God has a reason for all things and he will be right there with you.

Just found your channel. I used to can, but at 77 years old, it's difficult for me. I freeze almost everything now. You do as I did. Wash, sterilize. Always. My mil taught me how to can in 1965 when I was first married.Thank you for making this informative video. Hopefully, more young women will be encouraged by your video. ❤️ I hear your littles in the background. Reminds me of when I was young. Wonderful memories. ❤ Great husband. 😊

Hi, just a quick question ma'am. Can you can jars atop each other? Like there's a new layer of jars at the top? Without anything like a metal rack in between? 😅

Great job on this video! I’m an old school canner as well, I’ve been canning since I was young enough to be a help to my mom. But I was watching what she was doing before I was allowed to help😏! The only thing I do differently is that I put my jars in the water to come up to temp with the water when I’m sterilizing them. I was told they need to come up to temp so you don’t cause them to break. It’s is obvious that this isn’t absolutely a must but just something I was taught and I can’t NOT do it! 😀. I’m teaching my daughters how to can and I’m so excited to show them. I love to pass this along as I’m for a long line of home canners and I want it to continue!

Thank you Heather, am having fun learning from your videos. I just bought the same canner at Walmart, and it was priced at $25, not MUCH of a price difference three years later, in 2022 going into 2023. (I do advise other newbies who are serious about doing this to pick up an "extra" case or two of jars when you have a little money that's not earmarked for anything specific. I had what I considered to be "alot" of jars and recently discovered that: 1. Ten cases of jars are not "alot". 2. Canning is addictive. 3. It's satisfying to see the processed jars filling in empty shelves in the pantry. 4 This leads to more canning and need for jars. Trust me, just get the extra case or two of jars if you're able. Lol)

Hi Heather: When I remodeled my kitchen I also added a faucet above my gas stove so I can just fill up the pressure and water bath canners from that area, as opposed to trying to lift them from the sink to the stove, since I cannot lift anything heavy with spinal problems, and thanks for the video's,. Also again good luck with using and enjoying the new house. Love and hugs always to everyone, and Happy New Year 2019:).

There’s that pretty face 🥰 Thank you for sharing this. I have a chili recipe (lots of tomatoes, and, meat and dairy free) that I was hoping I might POSSIBLY be able to can 🤔 It’s one of my families favorite plant-based dishes that I make. Not that it’s a bother to make, however, I would love to be able to make a few big batches on a weekend and can it all up for future easy access 👍🏻 If I recall, from Noreen’s video on canning chili, I think I need a pressure canner though. Can hardly wait for your salsa recipe 😋😍 Happy & Blessed New Year to y’all 🥳🎊🙏🏼
