I have heard in a program on animal husbandry that Gir belongs to Gujarat and her milk will be best in quality and quantity when she lives there. If you change the environment of the cow, it will affect the milk production. In your area, Sahiwal cow is the native. A Gir cow which gives 20 L milk in Gujarat might give just 8-10 L milk in other regions. Although you are doing a lot of research but I heard it on Doordarshan so thought of commenting.

It's more of a business plan than an initiative to rescue the cows. We as a human are only exploiting the animals for our benefits. I am not criticising anyone's work here but just concerned about how we treat the animals. We use horse for horse riding, carrying goods from here and there, using them in marriages, we are using double humped camels for logistical support to the troops in eastern Ladakh, elephants, donkeys, dogs, fish for home decor, whales, sharks and many more. I just get disheartened when I see the cart puller using a stick on these animals, using iron nails on horse shoe just to not making the horse shoe wear and tear but common they are not meant to run on the cemented roads. I know many will argue that why don't you start something like this to console them and help them, but trust me I will for sure. To sum up , yes I agree you are doing a great deed but so is everyone else who owns a farm. The question is what different are you doing for animals?
