I was a Sena user for three years. Good units but had some hiccups connecting sometimes. I hot a great deal on a cardo freecom. Wow the difference was big. Everything just works and the sound with supplied speakers is much better. I will never go back

Could you confirm if the Freecom 4x is only IP65 rated? The Cardo website says it is. It's surprising that the Freecom 2x is IP 67, but the 4x is IP65.

Both are IP65, but I using over 3 years in rain and storm without any problems.

Only managed to get them connected ONCE, and it was through the app somehow. Could not repeat anymore. Can you please give me an acuratte step by step? The pocket guide of each device is useless, the steps describbed do not work Really appreciate an answer, otherwise i'll get rid of them and move to a different brand

I have the 4+ but I’d imagine it’s the same process. If it’s not another Cardo unit you’re connecting to, then pair it in the phone slot. Follow along the instructions for pairing a phone while your other party has their coms in discovery mode

Had to return my 2+. Maybe the 2x will be better? The voice commands never worked! If I wanted to call someone or listen to music I had to unlock my phone first. Maybe it's an Android limitation but I didn't have this issue with my older G9x. Also the connection to the cradle didn't last long so sometimes it required a couple of attempts to get the unit mount and work properly. I also hope Cardo will change the button's shape and the on/off operation of pressing two buttons at the same time. Often this is done before I put the gloves on and these pointy buttons are not comfortable.

I recently had the opportunity to use the Spirit and was a bit disappointed. My pillion stated that incoming audio was a bit noisy, but I've never had that issue using my PackTalk Bold with other riders. I also noticed that there is a substantial delay.

I’ve owned freecom 2, 4 and bold. Forget about natural voice operations. It’s always a hit or miss. Not to mention that the mic (on bold) sometimes picks the engine revs sound and activates ‘hey siri” for no reason. Intercom with passenger is always delayed and music sharing unusable.I’ve sent at least 5 emails to support and only received one answer with a generic “restore to factory settings and ensure you run latest firmware” advice. Why on earth this new lineup of products should be any better? And why tickets aren’t even logged by service desk? Sena is far superior but lacks waterproof feature which is idiotic. I can’t believe that in 2022 we can’t have 100% working intercom systems. By the way: why does Cardo concentrates so much on intercom between pilots while most people need to listen to music, speak to passenger and pickup phone calls? Unrealistic to have a dozen riders all purchasing the same model (forget about universal pairing between different brands: reconnections are a pain in the arse). And seriously: why on earth should someone use cardo app to speed dial or manage music when phone interfaces are far more intuitive and Siri or Google assistants are easier to use anyway (if you can convince hey cardo to wake up Siri/Google). Sorry for the rant but I am disgusted by all this systematic marketing hype and the delusional products actually delivered by Cardo… Don’t have to take my word: just google the above-mentioned issues in any bike forum..

Me too, i bought spirit hd, the voice is noisy when i intercom, that sound like walkie talkie and 50% chance to missing my first sentance（i set high sensitive for mircophone）. And i cant turn low sound level for music during intercom which is i updated the filmware and app. 1 more issue i confused, the shop told me Spirit HD is only one style can listen music with intercom, is it correct？

@@kenwai2006 I put the Spirit back in the box and don't use it. It is a weak, sub par product. I purchased another PalkTalk Bold for my passenger. I can listen to music and use the intercom at the same with that unit.

Even the chinese intercom we bought for 70 euros each does "live intercom" with automatic reconnecting, and it supports up to 4 people. Sadly the only thing it lacks is audio quality. If only there was a way to connect these JBL speakers to it ...

My brother, niece and I have the 4+ and now my wife wants one. Was thinking I can give her my + and buy the x for myself, but first I need to know if the auto reconnect would be functional as that’s the only reason I’m considering it. If I’m the original host using the x, and the 3 of them with their + are on my a b and c channels, would they auto reconnect when back in range? Tired of having to stop to reconnect every time someone falls too far behind or turns a corner in a canyon.

Are these actually waterproof? The Packtalk Slim is also marketed as "waterproof," but every one I've owned has died in the rain, because the rubber gasket over the charging port doesn't stay sealed. The gasket on these looks similar in the photos. I'd love to see a magnetic charger so you can make them truly waterproof, especially since you now do over the air updates. That's how other waterproof electronics solve USB charging, and it works great. It's also unfortunate that you haven't announced any changes to the Packtalk line. You still sell it, so I imagine the Freecom 4X doesn't supplant it, but it would be hard to buy either a Packtalk or a Freecom X knowing that a Packtalk X is likely on the way.

thought this was meant to be able to be used for sat nav. option only works if stationary. move off it just cuts in and out constantly. unless i get a response from the manufacturer then it will be going back. as unfit for purpose

I got a Cardo 4X and I updated my unit both ways, from the app and also using my computer. However when I turn off my unit the message said Battery status FOUR when on the app I can see its 100%. I did master reset, charged for more the 4 hours and still give me FOUR when tuning off... How can i fix it?

Not clearly stated in the video, but I have read that both the 2x and 4x accept voice commands.

Could I buy 1 x Freecom 4+ and then just a separate mounting kit for the other helmet and switch the single unit between helmets? Or maybe the new Spirit HD duo set. But only if I can use "hey/ok Google" function on my phone. The system needs to be fully voice operational for safety to make a call just in case I can't get to phone or buttons on the head unit.

Too complicated getting 2 cardo units connected. I've spent more than 30 minutes trying to get my Freecom 4+ connected to my girlfriend's Cardo Spirit. Followig what's mentioned in the pocket guide didn't help at all. Tried severall times until they eventually paired. I still can't understand how the fuck did they connect to each other. Can someone please help me with a step by step?
