In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Ironclad. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. In regard to making a tier list for Neow bonuses. You could take several different random maps and rank the bonuses for each map, highlighting how the pathing makes a difference. And even stop to compare how the ordering would change between characters

there are 7 rare potions: cultist, entropic, fairy, fruit juice, smoke bomb, snecko, and the character specific rare (heart of iron, ghost in a jar, essence of darkness, ambrosia)

Kinda funny how heart of iron is so rare when its just metallicize and it really does not make as much of a massibe difference later in the run whereas the other ones can completely save a hopeless fight. I would argue blood potion is more valuable than heart of iron.

I’m starting to see that you have to value a card not just for what it does, but for the interactions it could have with other cards you may get later and how many of those exist. Tough game, but very satisfying. Thank you for showcasing and explaining so many of the different combos.

I’ve always thought Sever Soul’s damage was subpar, but I’ve only just realized it’s because I’ve been comparing it to Ironclad’s other high damage expensive cards, like Carnage and Blood for Blood (sorta), when really I should have been comparing it to cards like Predator and Wheel Kick. Sever Soul trades 2 draw for exhaust. Understanding that makes it feel a lot more valuable to me. It also gains a teensy bit more damage over the other two

A problem with a 100 gold shop key is if you boss swap into ectoplasm and then run into a looter you would never have a chance to actually buy the key. Although yeah Baalor's suggestion of just needing 3 out of 4 keys would mean you just had to get the other keys like normal. So that works out.

Does it blow anyone else’s mind that corruption is so hard to find? Like there are so many runs where he never finds even a single copy to pick…… I think the devs must have it coded in to have the absolute lowest chance of spawning possible because it’s almost never shown in these videos… I do believe it to be the most overpowered card in the entire game for sure.

I’m pretty sure it has the same chance of dropping as any other rare card. Remember, the runs shown on the channel do not encompass all of his runs, just the most exciting wins. It’s possible that the corruption runs were considered too “boring” for KZbin cuz Corruption is so good. No hate at all tho, just my thoughts :).

I agree that It is often very good, but there is also a reasonable chance to “brick” and get two useless cards, which leaves you off much worse than before (considering that you’re now down a bunch of health).

Against the heart, why did you use Spot Weakness instead of Inflame on turn ... 2 or 3? I feel like making sure you don't draw Inflame on a late turn when you already have dozens of strength is worth passing on one point of buff.
