Aww! It's just lovely! That tone is so round, I wouldn't expect it from a spruce top, in my experience, it tends to dominate with brightness. I can't believe the price, surely it's worth more than they're asking for it. :o

Whoa! into the nines for a lovely solid wood uke that plainly, despite it's name, didn't come out of the ark!

That's even roomier than a Kanile'a tenor. Sounds much like my Anuenue, unsurprisingly since it's built from the same tonewoods. Pretty too.

Yep wider indeed - really comfortable to play

I always wanted a rosewood/spruce Martin guitar, but way beyond my finances, but this for £260 what a stunner, and sounds great, I want one. Thanks, great review. Have a good week

LOL im the same .....but you wouldn't regret getting one of these ...its in no way a "put up with until you can afford a better one" guitar/uke ...remember were all human and a human working with great quality woods in Vietnam or china ,spain Great Britain... etc is just as good as a fellow human using the same skills and wood but in USA...

Another good un Baz, thanks. I picked up a Noah sunburst tenor from Matt at last year's gnuf - lovely instrument. The gloss finish on that particular model was a little thick making for quite a heavily built uke, probably a little quiet too. This one looks a stunner - rosewood and spruce, a beautiful combo.

They have these with a Fishman Sonitone pickup installed too, and they are still only £300.! They sound fab', and there is a good video of Matt Hicks playing this model on KZbin, and finger picked it's gorgeous and bell like. Thanks Baz, another great review.🌞🎶🎸🇬🇧😎

Wow! What a beauty! I love the look. The darknesss of the Rosewood really compiments the Spruce top. Honestly Baz, when you came to telling us the price, I thought you were going to say about £400. What a great Ukulele for £260!! I would love to hear what it sounds like with Flourocarbon strings. Even so, it's sounds really beautful. Each note can be clearly heard . Seriously impressed. Thanks for the review Baz. Great, loved it!

Noah are always nice uke's. I think the bridge may be large as it doesn't seem to have a bridge plate according to the internal photo in the written review.

I certainly wouldn’t mind a few cosmetic blemishes, knowing that it is handmade. I think it gives it character. Sound and playability is more important. Wow that is cheap. If it only had a cutaway, I’d go for the gloss:) I’ve never tried a 39 mil nut tenor. Nice review. Sounds excellent!!

ive had one of these for a couple of years and its absolutely lovely sounding and to play....everything in this review is spot on....mines got also the most beautiful cross silking on the spruce top (i think thats what you call it) that my Alhambra classical guitar (an concert level £1800 +instrument ) might slightly envy ...thats made with AAA grade rosewood and AAA grade german engleman spruce and the quality on the Noah is just as good...really if you can get the money together just buy one asap...if i wasnt a bit skint id bag a soprano as well...mine too has the slight flaws an handmade instrument has ....the inner sticker has the date and name of the Luther who made it....if it was made by a "big name " brand you'd pay up to 3 x as much for such refinement ....same as my classical if i wanted a steel strung Martin on par with its quality of woods used ....well lets just say my Tanglewood thats served me for the last 13 years looks like doing me for a few years ....MMmmm imagine if Noah did guitars of equal quality ?...seriously though this is one of guitar worlds best kept secrets ....

Just ordered one following your review. I have several lower priced uses and was looking a step up in both quantity and tone. I've been on the hunt for days and as soon asi seen and heard you with this baby I knew that it was what I was after. I have a handmade Richard Newman classical guitar of similar tone woods and I love the chocolaty sounds I get from it. It also has a brighter, crisper side too so I'm interested to see if the Noah turns out to be the same.only thing is ,I've promised myself I'm not even going to look at it till Christmas morning so it going to be a long wait! There's nothing wrong with trying to recapture some of the excitement of childhood in you late 50s, is there? Anyhow thanks for the guidance.

Between this uku and a Pono MT which one wins? I can’t decide. I love a guitar sounding uke best that can be strummed or picked. I am tempted with this but don’t like a fat neck due to breaking my wrist. Any advise welcome.
@GotAUkulele2 жыл бұрын
I never give 'either or' opinions - far too subjective. I love both the models you mentioned
@pbrawdy14 жыл бұрын
One other question, and maybe you mentioned this and I missed it, do they set up the action so it is not too high.. so many ukes you buy need an immediate set up to lower the action and make it easy to play... Thanks!!
@GotAUkulele4 жыл бұрын
Matt does check them over - however - bear in mind that it is impossible for ANY seller to be sure that they provide a one size fits all set up. Some people like action high, some low, some inbetween. It's really always for the owner of the instrument for fine tune them and dial it in.

I enjoyed the review! I love the maple neck, mahogany is so boring. It's really a cool looking and sounding uke. Still, I don't care for the pin bridge at all, it is overly large looking. Pin bridges belong on guitars. The fact that it's hand built for that price is a big win! I don't mind construction marks like these if the uke sounds this good. KALA and Ohana better mind this competitor.
@GotAUkulele4 жыл бұрын
Agree with that final comment, though i do genuinely think this is a contender from someting like Pono too!
