Also this scene shows exactly how good of a speaker Ubuyashiki is, as he could make even Muzan listen to him. My personal theory is that he must be an empath. He can tell what people are thinking and feeling and he used that ability to encourage, nurture and build up as many demon slayers as he could, and in so doing created the strongest generation of hashira that the corps has ever had. Which is a perfect opposite of Muzan who enslaves people by turning them into demons and making them dependant on his blood and goodwill to survive.

Ubuyashiki has that empathetic nature that allows him to bring something someone needs to hear, and in spite of Muzan's nature, he seeks something he wants and something to hear interesting in his life of pure boredom in finding eternal life without fear of death. Also, it's as if Muzan wanted someone to actually communicate with, who understands him, that doesn't annoy him and mostly someone who's not just gonna talk shit about him but show him rather what he's done. That's like the most effective solution or way of talking you wanna approach someone like a child who is not listening

The fact that Giyu has always looked out for Tanjiro from the beginning all the way till the end shows how much he values his actual friends. And only Tanjiro was able to make him comfortable to make friends again after the tragedy of his sister and Sabito. That's why Giyu is my favorite character in Demon Slayer and his bond with Tanjiro as brothers is one of the best dynamics in the series

That's exactly why Giyu is also my most favorite Hashira! Ever since we met him in the first episode ever, I already fell in love with him and his character. He was stern, but meant well. His words were harsh, but deep down inside he's compassionate. His relationship with Tanjiro is so special. He truly cares for him. Sometimes I look back at the first episode and realize that out of all the Hashira (yes, even someone like Mitsuri), Giyu really was the best choice of Hashira for Tanjiro to encounter. There's something weird about the Master (Ubuyashiki). Notice how EVERYONE likes him, how he nails their desires perfectly? Like how he exactly knew what to say to make Kanroji cry from relief/joy, feeling loved just the way she is for the first time, how he comforted Tokito and was spot on when he said he'd be unstoppable once the mist cleared from his head, how he rescued Stone Hashira (basically all Hashiras and demon slayers). And here, we see this weird thing about him again, where Muzan cant bring himself to kill him right away or to even feel hatred towards him. Instead he felt a weird sense of relief/comfort despite facing the leader of his enemies. Ubuyashiki even said he ''knew'' what was on Muzan's mind, what his desire is; eternity. It really does feel like as though he can read people's mind. Im no manga reader, but I do wonder whether his weird ability of knowing things and making people feel comforted, saying exactly what they need to hear etc, is ever explained. Might just be a cool character trait or the fact that they married priests' daughters, adding some kind of spiritual power into their lineage.

@racool911 or maybe just that, indeed 😂 Though the way Stone Hashira spoke about it, it seemed as though it was some supernatural ability, where he can uncannily sense people's deepest pains and deepest desires beyond what normal empathy allows in normal humans. And his generational "intuition"/foresight. In any case, it makes for great symbolism, displaying human kindness as a superpower. Demon versus Human, each with their own superpowers. His human kindness being the greatest superpower, even moreso than Hashiras' literal powers.

Fun fact this entire episode didn't actually happen in the hashira training arc in the manga! These were the first pages of the infinity castle arc which I think is pretty cool And also the reason muzan was so petty towards tanjiro in the end is because although muzan was over 1000 years old, he turned into a demon when he was 19 which means his brain hasn't matured past that age meaning he isn't really fully developed and had a tiny bit of a childish mind

I do love how Ubuyashiki's plan hinged on Muzan believing no human would blow up their own family and themselves. He needed Muzan to not even consider that there was any real danger or Muzan, Abject despicable coward that he is would never have shown his smug face, So the wife and two kids stick around to lull Muzan into a false sense of security so Muzan doesn't even consider the possibility of a bomb and just expects hashira and demon slayers to show up as the only threat which he'd already planned for, Because no human would be crazy enough to blow up themselves, Their wife and their kids right? Also notable that I've seen people overlook, The kids set off that bomb, No other humans in the building, The two vanish after Ubuyashiki distracts Muzan with his speech and only one comes back shortly before the bomb goes off, Two literal children, Two eight year olds blew up Muzan.

Notice how Muzan is always understanding/patient towards humans for some reason? When it comes to demons, he is like an unreasonable boss, but humans such as Ubuyashiki and the drunk people he encountered in Season 1 he listens to one and says sorry to the others.

It's not even that he's entirely unreasonable to the demons. We see his interactions with demons such as Daki when he's not stricken with rage. He's manipulative, he uses promises of greater strength and talks them up like he did with the Temari demon saying "you're a member of the 12 kizuki, one of my most important subordinates, you're special and strong and I'm relying on you". We know he indulged the idiosyncrasies of several of his demons even when he didn't think it was a good idea like with Gyutaro and Daki or Rui having special permission to divide his strength and make his own family. His actions with the lower moons may stick out because of how drastic it was, but honestly as enraged as he was I don't think he would have killed them all if they hadn't made some bad decisions. I genuinely think if they nodded said "yes master, we suck. We'll try much harder. Please let us go die for you." they could have all come out of that meeting alive. He's really an interesting character the way he encompasses a lot of duality and contradiction. He's driven so much by fear and vulnerability despite his incredible strength. He values the strength of demons but his greatest fear is them working together against him. No matter how strong he becomes the memory of weakness and frailty is indelibly etched in him.
