The band was created for the anime. They casted people that could play the instruments (voice is also an instrument). Those girls were the taught how to voice act. The band exists irl and is called ‘Togenashi Togeari’. The official ‘Girls Band Cry’ KZbin channel started releasing music like 8 month before the anime released (songs that are not in the anime). They give real concerts.

The Beginning of this project was in 2021. Here is the part of the article behind that: "Toei Animation, Universal Music, and music production company agehasprings announced on Sunday that they are partnering to launch Girl's Rock Audition, a project that will include both anime and real bands. The companies are already accepting applicants for their audition. The companies are seeking vocalists, guitarists, bassists, drummers, and keyboardists. The winning applicants will not only star as voice cast members in the project's anime, but will also form bands to make their major label debut. They will play their respective instruments at concerts and festivals, and will also play the theme and insert songs for the anime project as well as other projects." Later the "Togenashi Togeari" band was created by five girls selected from these auditions. The first musical videos appeared around a year ago, in 2023. First, there were songs with some little animated 2d pictures. On May 29, 2023, appeared first 3d music video, that song (remake) was also included in the anime season. It's name "Nameless Name". The "Bleeding Hearts" (my favorite their song), next music video is original, moreover, I suppose all songs on the channel before the anime started were not included in the anime itself. If you want to see more Togenashi Togeari (the band that Girls Band Cry is about), I'd recommend the music videos for "Bleeding Hearts" and "Nameless Name". Both great songs and the animations for the videos aren't from the anime, so there's no risk of spoilers.

You don't need to worry too much, but the "Nameless Name" MV only adds extra scenes to the anime and the singing scenes are almost the same as in the anime. "Bleeding Hearts" doesn't appear in the anime, and it's the most played and popular song, so it's the one I'd like people to listen to the most.

Girls Band Cry is an original anime produced by Toei Animation with the highest budget possible, they used new techniques to demonstrate very fluent 3D animation while a lot of important scenes like what you see in the video (The depressing past of the five main characters) are 2D. 2. There is a real band for this anime called Togenashi Togeari. They are also the va of the main band in the anime. The vocalist is just 16, she was directly invited by the production team because she's too talented. Also, they have actual live performance that are not anime but real people, if you want to react, just search "Wrong World -live"

Overall Girls Band Cry was the biggest suprise of the Spring 2024 Anime Season. It came as an unknown anime. By the big Toei animation who are making One Piece weekly. They did it in 3D which is CGI which is something they dont normally do. It had for the most of the season no english licensing release. BUT IT STOLE THE SHOW! It came in like a wrecking ball. The moment I seen the first episode I was like oh it's cgi... but the longer I watched the first episode the better it felt. The more natural it felt and the more accurate it felt. It was a great show. Oh and one more thing the VA's for the main characters are literally girls only 1-2 years older than the gals in the show... Mindblowing! + They actually are a real life band.

Girls Band Cry is super peak. Despite 3DCG, no western licensing, being an original, basically no hype, and first time VAs, it found great success. EZ no1. Anime of Spring. The band Togeashi Togeari, consisting of the VAs, is also an irl band created for the project. A bunch of the insert songs are technically EDs... and we did vote for the OP and EDs of GBC, juuuust saying 😉

The band in this show are a band in real life. The girl on drums, her voice actress is playing the drums for this song. This goes for all of them. This anime was made to promote the band Togenashi Togeari. It is a CGI anime and it blew up because of how good the CGI is. The show has a really good team behind it too who made the anime so well written and directed. The 5 characters are all really lovable, which also made the show blow up even more as all the characters genuinely feel real and have actual realistic banter and convocations. Sadly, this anime is not licensed anywhere so you have to pirate it

I have never truly like anime 3D animation, and at times I still get an uncanny valley feel whenever I see it. But once I make myself watch it, I do enjoy it most of the time. HIGHSPEED Etoile was CGI, and after the first episode, I did not even notice anymore. I’ll definitely give Girls Band Cry a watch now that I’ve seen the animation.

It IS very crazy when you have a manga about music. One of my favorite manga was Fuuka and it has quite a few VERY emotional parts about their songs and when the Anime came out i didnt know if they could even get to my favorite part and i wnted to hear the song soooo much

Still waiting for Luke to react to Bang Dream. While it isn't the pioneer of the girl band genre, it definitely is one of the biggest franchise when it comes to the genre. I recommend checking it out, especially to Fire Bird and Brave Jewel by Roselia, Returns by Poppin' Party, Expose Burnout by Raise a Suilen, and probably some Ave Mujica ones.

I've only seen bang dream but I fell in love with it. great music and animation. I took a little while for me to get used to character models but just a few scenes and settled into the story. love the stage direction they can do with the full 3d aspect of it.

If im not copletely misunderstood, these are not voice actors at all. It's a real band that got a band baseda round them and they play all the bandmates in the roles they are in the IRL band. Not sure if the story is based around them at all. But it's real musicans playing and acting. Though their voicework, especially the main character is so good you'd think she was a veteran VA.

ignoring the band playing this really does just look like a normal animated music video. the lyrics on screen over the scene they describe, i just wonder if that is pulled out of the anime or especially made for this music video. But i do know that sometimes anime like to do what we call a little bit of trolling and make an entire band like Zhiend with an album just to play a singular song in the anime and pretend its a real band with the other songs left to be found on your own. i guess i then suffer under the opposite troll of Elfensjón clearly making anime and you have to ask anime where. Still looks good though so i would love to see a reaction to the Zenith music video of them

you should watch BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!! it's a stellar girl band anime. I think it was new last year. very similar style to thus with 3d models. the camera moves on stage are wild!! it's got great music of course and an endearing cast with a struggle storyline worth investing in. the art style does take a moment to get used to as its like a cutscene in final Fantasy or the tales of series. but it I worth it.

For get your information this was original anime so not from manga or novel made by Toei studio same as one piece, and they mix 3d and 2d so if you're watching the anime you will notice some character will use 2d art, but for the member and support use full 3d expect for some moment ( correct me if im wrong thanks 😉 )

I like Girl's Band Cry a lot, but the videogameiness of the animation was a bit of a turn off. Not because it's CG, but because it's all moving on 1's, which is very odd in anime. Compare it to something like D4DJ, which is also an all-CG music anime, but it looks more like a regular anime because it's animated on 2's and 3's.
