Also, given the characters' historical designs, I'm thinking that Nightwing and Redhood were the "parkour" characters the game was talking about. Their movement will likely be similar to, say, Talion from Shadow of War/Shadow of Mordor, but with the addition of the grappnel launcher.

Compare it to Dark souls even though I hate to do this. You want to get stronger and have more abilities and more effective combat strategies to survive in a fight. But leveling up also boosts the enemy up a bit. Thus making it more challenging. Ninja gaiden does this as well. Same with dmc. Except in those games it's unlocked weapons and abilities and progression. That's the point of an rpg or straight up action game. You get powerful but you don't get op. It's always balanced as all games should.

It looks like the way the leveling system works is it will change the way all the enemies fight as they level up. This makes it better so we aren't fighting the same guy the same way everytime. Kinda like that infamous Mr. Freeze fight.

If there is going to be DLC the number 1 thing I would like to see is the inclusion of a Star City map with Green Arrow and Black Canary as added hero characters with Dark Archer, Onomatopoeia and Richard Dragon as villains. Its criminal we never got a depiction of Star City in video game form in the years Arrow was on the air. They could treat it exactly like the extra map that was included in Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut. It would be awesome to see another prominent city besides Gotham as DLC.

I feel like Green Arrow and Black Canary as DLC characters are a bit of a reach, given that the focus so far has been on Batman's successors. If I'm expecting any characters as post-launch content, it would be the rest of the extended Batfamily, like Batwoman (since Kane is referenced as the new police comissioner), Stephanie Brown or maybe even Catwoman. I wouldn't really expect Damian Wayne, since he probably isn't around if Tim is still the main Robin. I don't even feel like DLC characters are fully on the table, since the quote suggesting there could be in the video here was from 2020. Games development focus can shift massively and features can be dropped as the work is put in. Maybe some content is too time-consuming to be fully integrated and they don't have the resources to get it made, or they change their mind about it fitting with the game.

I can't wait for this game, batfamily is absolutely one of my favourite. I hope there is dlc content. I would kill to play as Duke Thomas. When i saw him become the signal i was so happy, there isnt very many black batfamily characters but when they give him a yellow suit (my favourite colour) and a pair of kamas ( my 2nd favourite weapon after sai) i feel in love. Other characters it terms of unique game play combat wise batwing, Spoiler, orphan or Damien and huntress come to mind all having different weapons. Never mind flying as batwing. The fact that they're trying a more RPG route is what' sgot me more interested in this. There aren't many if any superhero type games that use an RPG formula. Live action Batman is omitted from television, so we only got Titans with Nightwing and the highly controversial Batwoman show. Personally, I'd love to see a Gotham Knights tv show, with (almost?) all of the Batfamily, including guest apperances of lesser known ones: Huntress, Red Robin, Azrael, Spoiler, Oracle, Orphan, Signal, Batwing, Ghost-Maker, etc. Yes, I had to look some of them up, but that's why they deserve some attention to bring in more fans.

The whole point of leveling up is to become more powerful, with enemies following that power increase the difference is negligible or in some cases make the game a boring grind. The fighting system in the arkham series was awesome. Correct if I'm wrong coz I did not see the same elements such as dodge with counter attacks in any footage.

Looks great but I’m not so sure I like how the enemy gets harder as you level up. I hate it when games do this. What is the point of getting stronger as a character when the enemies are just getting harder? To me it takes away the feeling of progressing into a true super hero fantasy. Anyone else feel this way?

I was looking for this comment. I was turned off as soon as I heard there was no level gating, and agree, it ruins the feeling of progressing and getting stronger.

I hope they create a system for the civilians where you'll have to save them while on the prowl. For example you are gliding through the sky and land on top of a roof and you look down and find a person getting mugged. You have the option to either ignore the mugging and continue what you're doing or you can interrupt it and stop the crime. That'd be a cool addition to going around and exploring gotham. Another example could be stopping a murder or robbery too not just a mugging. There's many scenarios they can create, like riots and shootouts. There's riots in AK but they're vaguely in the game and not really something obvious.

U can see the difference, they are taking steps in the right direction. Not only are they giving us a refreshing story, a new beginning so to say. But they are redesiging the gameplay as well, trying to leave what works, and improve what needed to be improved, i.e. combat. Dont get me wrong, freeflow was a blast. But it was limiting when trying to design dope boss fights. Sure there were some, but its almost like they used every trick in the book with that kind of combat system. They needed to turn a new leaf and this looks promising, that Freeze fight looks awesome. It seems like they are really listening to the peoples desires and taking notes. Im so pumped for this game, it looks like it retained all of its DC comic book charm but now they are stepping up their game.

@@carminedies3481 I don't count Arkham as that was more Dick 2.0 with a bit of Damian thrown in there. I didn't get Tim from him. In the DCAU he's pretty much written out so they could focus on Damian. The lego games are fun but not really riveting for story. In Titans he's not a Dick clone this time but a Miles Morales clone. So I don't count that as Tim either Maybe I could have worded it better by saying Tim is undermined and underappreciated as a character in his own right. Edit: I wouldn't be entirely opposed to Damian in the game but NOT at the expense of Tim. They're not interchangeable.

Oh thank goodness there's a company out there that realises we don't have to be always online, and acknowledges that after a long working week you can solo for a solid hour or two before bed, I'm glad there's the whole drop in drop out co-op, but sometimes you just need a good solo run slapping some goons around, all these ideas just really make me realise how much I need a game like this, a big thanks to all who reviewed this and the game companies and all involved making a game that caters for everyone, especially for those who wanna unwind over weekend and co-op with there other halves or just on there own, I tip my hat to you all 🎩

I bet dollars to donuts that part of the post-launch content includes Batman. Between "something something about preparedness" and Lazarus Pit shenanigans I see Bruce making his way back into things in the closing moments of the main campaign; I'm thinking as some sort of implication that he's still around being made in a post credits scene. I could see Batman getting his smaller scale, stand alone/expansion much like how Miles Morales got his own little deal after Spider-Man on PS4

I hope that they give us a long hair/mullet nightwing look and a cassandra cain or animated series batgirl suit. I love the black and yellow designs of those suits and want my bat family to look kinda scrappy and edgy. I also really really want catwoman as an additional hero with the michelle pfifer suit too. That would be so incredibly cool. Other hero’s could be like Azrael, Spoiler, Cassandra Cain, Batwoman, Black Canary, Huntress, Damian Wayne, Harley Quinn, Prometheus, Red Robin, or something i’m forgetting, but Catwoman is the only one I would be genuinely sad about not being included

I am very excited to see Robin wearing his Red Robin suit. I’ll pretty much be wearing that the whole time I play as him. I’d even like to play as Nightwing while wearing his original suit just for nostalgia sake.

I'm glad you would be able to customize the HUD, but I have to ask, would the game still be playable without it or am I gonna be missing on vital information?

I haven't been so hyped for a video game in so long! I'm more hyped than Dying light 2. I love the bat family! Especially Red hood! I can't wait to customize, level up, and shoot people! Lol
