When you try for scholar’s mate, blunder your queen, but win the game anyway. 800 elo life is wild.

@@FritzMeowstro spotting it and not getting mated I had figured out to some extend. But often I blunderd pieces. So I wanted a good counter against it so I could punish my opponent and win :D And also because I got really tilted by it. Enough to make me not play for over a week XD Oh and puzzles I do enough, I'm almost 1200 rated in puzzles while only 800 in rapid.

This kind of play takes you a lot further than just beating bad Queen openings. A lot of games below 1000 just have openings that aren’t exactly straight from the database, sometimes dudes are just gonna throw pieces around. When people do terrible openings it’s just important to stay principled, develop the center, and wear down the opponent.

I'd say that the queen is actually the light tank (or LAV) and the rooks are heavy tanks. I'm mostly referring to maneuverability and usefulness. While tanks are very scary and all that, they have a hard time roaming the area and are very situational, whilst LAVs are more flexible and have much more use than just tanks

What about more of a sniper? Queen has the most maneuverability but deadly against singular targets, whilst being vulnerable. Rooks are more like aircraft, as they travel with a wingman sometimes. The queen is the special ops piece, versatile but weak on its own

Everytime I attack his queen with my knight he just ignores it. After that I win. Everytime. I find him easier than Nelson. I hope that helps you defeat my Slav bro. I troll him now by playing bongcloud against him. Tutorial: if sven plays the french against you (you BETTER be playing white), you play the magnificent bongcloud against him. He will bring his queen out, so you have to first defend everything, then attack his queen.

The scholars mate and the wayward Queen attack are two classic games that beginners need to play & experience ASAP as they start their journey playing 1.e4 e5 moves. Also taking your time to really study the board before making the first move that comes into your head is a difficult skill to master. The best part about being a noob at chess is that you get to see so many people try to do scholar's mate or a wayward queen atack. More often than not, they pause for like 30 seconds to even a full minute, maybe more, when you don't play the moves that you're "supposed" to do. Personally, I like to pretend that I don't know what they're doing until the third move; then I block the queen and watch them scramble around as I simply develop my pieces, whilst attacking their queen at the same time. I end up with a good position, ready to rock, while they've spent the last six or seven moves panicking because their queen keeps getting attacked. If they blunder the queen, which they usually do, that's an added bonus. If they don't blunder the queen, the fun comes from them trying to figure out what to do when their opponent had control of the whole board, because suddenly their silly "strategy" doesn't work anymore. It's like watching the school bully get intimidated and subsequently beat up after picking the wrong person to mess with.

There's a counter to Qb5: pd6, the bishop c4 white continues the attack. You block with knight k6, they'll open pawn d3 to use bishop on the knight, but you then play bishop g4 and place the queen under siege. The only way for white to save the queen is bishop g5 to threaten queen trade, you respond bishop e7 and they can only back out with queen h4. You take with bishop g5 he moves queen g3 and mate the queen on bishop h4. And you got yourself a bishop trade and a free queen.
