@Leyrann

He acts simplistic a lot of the time (no doubt in part for content), but if you take a closer look you can easily see he has a very sharp intelligence underneath that. Not everyone can make and stay Challenger for many years, or do it in every role on demand, and he clearly has good entertainment and business sense based on both his own projects and his appearances on Riot broadcasts and the like. It's hilarious to imagine Tyler1 playing (and raging about, no doubt) chess, but I'm not actually _surprised_ that he's improving quickly, and as Levy points out in the video, he has good potential. If chess is his new addiction, replacing League, well, I'm gonna say he'll get to 2000 elo at _least,_ assuming he puts some time into theory (and he's already putting time into puzzles so there's a good chance he will), and on top of that if he gets mad and start trolling/inting, unlike in League he won't be griefing anyone else, so that's a plus too. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next in this saga.

It's, actually quite surprising. He plays Cow, so that he doesn't need to learn too many openings and counters, plays a cagey set up (which I find VERY impressive) and finding that knight move to avoid checkmates tells he is actually pretty good! And his endgames are better than 60% of GTE submissions

There was a sort of circle formed around him with tons of people and he turned it into an impromptu meet and greet, taking time to do selfies and talk to everyone. Getting to 2300 in puzzles in a few months is far more impressive to me than 1000 elo, because I played for a full year (daily) before getting to 2300 in puzzles despite having been 1450 at the time.

That guy is multi-role Challenger in LoL. For the uninitiated, he is in the top fraction of a percent in LoL players worldwide. Achieving this in one role is absurd, but ALL of them is completely bonkers. If he really wants to, I bet he'll cross 2000 this year or early next.

On the yard, you guys talked briefly about learning speed of adults vs children. I agreed with your sentiment that children are better learners, but Tyler is all the proof I need to show me that if an adult has the right kind of mindset, they can “out-learn” a child.

What's even more impressive about game 2 is he found kxd3 in 30 seconds. I found that move but it took me about a minute or 2 to evaluate and he kept a near equal time for the whole game which added that time pressure at they approached 4 minutes leading to his opponent scrambling. Thats really good time and opponent management
