What I like about this channel is that you are not silly. There are too many channels where the speaker tries too hard to be funny or likable, and for me it is the opposite effect. (That's not to say there isn't a sense of humor because there is.) . There are also too many channels that are extremely narcissistic and self absorbed. You simply stick to the subject and give really good information and deliver it in a way that is easy to understand.

As a K-beauty lover who's also Bulgarian, I'm so happy to see Heimish hop on our rose train. Bulgaria has a massive rose industry (oils, water, jam, everything) but it rarely gets recognized by any foreign brands. I'm impressed!

After binging on Gothamista excessively for the past few week, I thought I should leave a comment. This is the first "beauty"-related channel that I've actually watched several videos of, and truly enjoy. It's really informative, and has encouraged me to pay attention to my skin health over the option of layering tons of makeup to mimic healthy skin. It has opened me up to a whole new market of skincare (Korean & Japanese) that really seems to excite me more than what I was limited to previously (Sephora/drugstore). Renee is down-to-earth, intelligent, relatable, and incredibly endearing. Renee, I do have a request! You did a video about products "in your trash" which I found very helpful. In a world where there is a countless number of products that we would like to try, but a limited amount of money that can realistically be spent on skincare/beauty, I would love to hear which ones you don't think were worth the money. Thanks, and keep it up!
@bum72016 жыл бұрын
Thank you for listing "cruelty free" in relative brands! Pia Srivastava 🙋🏻♀️ Yes, same here! I went off the walls when I started using acids, using too much too often...my skin ended up sensitive and breaking out more then ever. Then I took a step back, incorporated one at a time to see how my skin reacted to each, then use them alternating nights, with either a gentle acid or retinol, leaving the stronger stuff for maybe once a week. My skin is much better, becoming clear, soft and bright. But you’re right when you ask about masks; so many have AHA’s, it would be great to hear how to properly incorporate those. And then I wonder about acid toners, like Tarte Knockout and REN Daily Glow AHA Tonic, which I just started using. They have lactic acid, and I wonder how often I should be using them, and what I should avoid using them with, because of course they both just say use twice a day 🤷🏻♀️😏 It would be wonderful to get Renee’s advise 😊

The quality of your channel really stands out! Like so many others, I love watching your videos 💘 Because you are constantly trying out new & different products, I would be interested to see a video on "how to know if a product is working," essentially, depending on the ingredients being used, by when should you be able to tell if the product is working for you or not? I think it would be really interesting to hear this from you, as you're so wonderfully versed and technical in your explanations 🙏🏻

When the video got at 7:43 I thought "hmm Renee would rock a beard". Now I'm aware that it's almost 3 am and I must sleep. Seriously. But if man can look amazing in make up we could get nice fake beards to protect from the sun. Hi Renee! Thank you for an amazing channel! I've watched and rewatched so many of your informative videos and while my pockets aren't your biggest fan (hehe), I am! These undereye patches for me however, don't work well with any other product - i.e. moisturizer or makeup. They are without doubt, moisturizing and provide such a soothing and cucumber-like feel when applied as I store mine in my refrigerator. However they leave this residue-gunk under my entire eye area. I notice it immediately when applying any kind of moisturizer or makeup, especially concealer. I think I'll keep using mine but instead of using it before starting my day, I think I'll start wearing them before bed.

Hey Renee. I really love your videos, they are informative and I have learned a lot about my skin! I have the eye pactches and I love them too but I didn't know they were water soluble... do you think it would be ok to pop them into a glass spray bottle, add a little purified water and make a rose face mist out of them?

Hi Renee Excellent Video. I have melasma and my doctor recommended Fraxel 2 laser. I have not done it because it has down time. I am intrigued by your recommendation on Skinceuticals serum. It is great if it works but can be expensive if needs to be used consistently. Also, I am using Derm E Vitamin C and Innisfree Hydronic acid toner. I really like the Derm E, which I have been using in the mornings and afternoons. I also keep a Supergoop sun screen powder in my purse to reapply throughout the day. The powder form is mineral based and works well. You are wealth of information. Thank you...

@gothamista6 жыл бұрын
Hi! There is no merit to the claims about niacinamide cancelling out vitamin C. The only possible negative reaction would be the same kind of flushing you would get when you ingest vit B3 supplements that is not harmful and temporary - in cosmetics, that would be a rare occurance for those who are very sensitive

Thank you Renee for another fantastic video. I have a question about transepidermal water loss...I have been following your recommendation of the towel-less pat dry but wonder if I am letting my skin dry out too much in that process. There is a dermatologist on KZbin who recommends applying a humectant containing moisturizer directly after cleansing to a dripping wet face to retain moisture. Wondering what you think about this and what kind of humectant could be used in this way if one still wants to apply a Vitamin C serum (Drunk Elephant C-Firma to be specific) in an effective way (I'm curious about that iUNIK hyaluronic acid toner?). Thank you so much!
