Trying Lechon for the first time in the Philippines. Lechon has been recommended to us by so many people here in The Philippines and apparently Cebu is the best place to eat lechon in The Philippines. We are back in Cebu City so we thought it was the perfect opportunity to try one of the Philippines best food to eat. We chose Rico's for our first time to eat Lechon based on research. Question is - what time did you go eat your lechon? If you want crispy skin, you should try lechon right on lunchtime or earlier than that - lechon are normally cooked early morning. If you wait till dinner - skin will not be crispy. You should search in you tube the best time to try lechon.

Most of the time when I was on the islands, I cooked by myself, but the only thing I liked about ready-made food was street food. There is only one rule when you eat street food Eat like the locals - if the locals eat it with spicy food, eat it with spicy food, if the local people eat it with a lot of rice, eat it with rice, and if they pour nasty vinegar, eat it with vinegar, otherwise your tummy will hurt.

⭐️ NAH! Some Cebu Lechon aficionados might order lechon from Cebu here in Manila… but generally Tagalogs (people from Manila and rest of Luzon) and even folks from Panpanga love our own version of lechon. Cebu lechon is salty because they don’t use any sauce- just vinegar. Manila lechon is mild and not salty because we pair it with a liver-based gravy.

I forgot their KZbin name, but there was also a vegan couple who travelled the Philippines and they never once had any trouble finding vegan food wherever they went in the Philippines. They found plenty of really nice places actually that even convinced me to want to eat vegan food. It really looked good and tasted insanely delicious too apparently. I guess you really just gotta find the places by searching online, asking locals and the viewers who make a lot of recommendations I guess.

Oh my, you should have ask if the skin is still crispy Samantha. I'm disappointed you've not try that experience. I think the best way to get it, is where you can try the crispiness of the skin. Filipinos do this often, if the skin is not crispy, we tend to look for the one. It's the thing of eating Lechon, crispy skin.

rico's lechon manila branches of course order their lechon from cebu but manila also has its own lechon and it is even so traditional. to each his own, every province has its own style of lechon and i can also say that our lechon in aklan is best because our pigs are organic and free range. as for cebu, the best is in carcar city. as for me, rico's lechon here in manila, is just ordinary. i think house of lechon is way better.

House Of Lechon is much much BETTER! Because they serve you more crispy skin and bigger portion. That was very disappointing the skin is not crispy I'll be complaining because Lechon supposed to be crispy skin thats the delicacies

Good for you Samantha that the 🇵🇭 is a meat eater 😂 however it sucks for Caolan being a vegetarian. Also sucks that lechon you had didn’t have the crispy skin. I’m not a vegetarian but I prefer eating more veggies than meat. Siargao is the island to go for vegetarian like Caolan. Looking forward for the next video. Take care.

no one eats lechon for breakfast 🤣 its mostly a food for feasts, parties, or celebration, and yes, the skin is supposed to be crispy but the skin gets soft quickly when its no longer freshly cooked

By the look of it, that didn't look very appetizing and savoury. There was too much commercial in that restaurant because of the ratings and award. Sadly the quality of the original cebu's lechon wasn't there. The original Cebu's lechon must have the cracking crispiness of the skin and the aroma taste and smell of the lemongrass and not too salty. Sometimes you can have the best quality of Cebu's lechon in ordinary eatery/resto if you get lucky. Expect different quality and taste of the same Filipino dish because of the regions and traditions.

Expect different quality because of the CORRUPTION and ignorance. Lemon grass is expensive, so some will just used salt to give it more flavor. Lechon is better in places were vloggers dont go to. Also lechon is eaten with rice, not necessarily those over hyped Garlic Rice, which makes the rice 6 times more expensive because of a clove of garlic.

Putting Sisig on the same level of Lechon is ridiculous. Sisig is mostly GARBAGE in 99% of restaurants selling that food item that only make sense when you are drinking Red Horse.

I think Rico's Lechon is very highly overrated tbh. Your lechon could taste 10x better even being prepared by a local who knows what they're doing. Rico's Lechon to me is like getting a burger at McDonalds. It just underperforms. I suggest you try another place. Preferably another place there and another in Manila as Manila does it differently and served with sauces.

Its just hype! Cebu has the best of everything but they still keep coming to Luzon, they have the best governor in gwendolyn, the best mayor in mike, diyan na lang kayo masikip na dto sa Luzon, maunlad na naman ang queen city of the south , stay there ,napakarami nyo na sa Angeles!
