This looks amazing . I was literally breaking my head why manufacturers dont put both the sensors to get the best of both worlds. Althought im not as impressed by the top speed acceleration on PAS5, im super impressed they made this bike with such quality for an affordable price. We want to see more such bikes. Id personally buy this myself, but i just got the philodo H8 and the speed and acc. On this thing is nuts. Scared i will miss this power if i settle for a 750W, but thats just me

Your Philodo H8 looks really similar to the LANKELEISI MG740PLUS I'm working on a review for right now. Dual 1000 watt hub motors. It will climb faster. In dual motor PAS 5 and throttle only mode it skids tires on almost every start. For actual offroad riding where I want more control I'd choose the Tundra any day over it. If I wanted something to ride 30mph on pavement with super quick acceleration then the dual motor would win. The Tundra has the best combined features of the Himiway Zebra and Aventon Aventure 2 for the price of an Aventure 1 or Himiway Cruiser. I barely see Gotrax advertise the Tundra. Their website doesn't makes no mention of how their torque sensor works or the 28mph top speed.
@HouseofGausss
@HouseofGausss 10 ай бұрын
@adventuregearinsider yeah they definitely should advertise more , cause it does look like a better product offering from value standpoint at least. And yes, that's why I think I'm gonna stick with my philodo, I do pavement riding for the most part in and out of traffic. The philodo is reliable and fast. The tire spins has become way less of an issue with just one week of riding and getting the hang of the throttle. But I'm super hyped with the gotrax, will keep an eye out when I plan to get something for offrading in specific I guess. But that's way down the line

@lowbudgetadventurers
@lowbudgetadventurers 10 ай бұрын
@@greenwave819 that is correct. That whole sequence was shown pedaling very slow in the lowest gear to show that PAS5 5 acts like a cadence sensor bike. The first 4 act like a torque sensor bike.

looks like it might be a good one? im from North Idaho and around here there are miles of roads and trails [real trails] there is a nice paved bike path a few miles away that goes along the river passed lakes up thru mountains to Montana or the other way to Washington. but its just a paved bike path that most bikes will do fine on. a bike that can go on real trails and country roads will be more useful here. :) thanks for another option. :)

The one thing it's missing is better waterproofing.

@@lowbudgetadventurers even so, I feel like that's a pretty important detail for a bike that's intended for snow and sand. I suppose renaming it the "Sahara" or something would be cheaper tho

Tundra is currently 1199 this weekend and Adventure 2 is 1599 . They seem similar . Is there anything that justifies the $400 difference ?
@lowbudgetadventurers
@lowbudgetadventurers 2 ай бұрын
We have had both bikes. The Aventure 2 has slightly better pedal driveline components. Not enough to justify a $400 difference. It has a smart phone app you can use for changing settings. Not sure that is really worth that much either. Aventure 2 comes with a rear rack which the Tundra doesn't. Those are the advantages for the Aventure 2. The Tundra has a 20 ah battery verse the 15 ah the Aventure 2 comes with. This is a significant difference for range. 44 miles for Aventure 2 verse 55 miles for Tundra in our range test. The other big difference is the cadence sensor like PAS level 5 on Tundra. It lets you go 28mph very easily without pedaling hard. To go 28mph on the Aventure 2 you have to pedal like a monster. This in my mind is a huge advantage for the Tundra. I see a ton of complaints in the Aventon groups regarding how hard it is to ride 28mph on the torque sensor Aventure 2 vs how easy it was on the cadence sensor Aventure 1. Having 1 PAS level that acts like a cadence sensor instead of a torque sensor solves that problem.

How strong does the frame is if you have to raise the seat pole all the way up? I am 6.3

My friend who is 6'5 and 330 lbs has ridden my Tundra, Aventure 2, and Zebra all a bunch of times. The frame is probably the last thing I would worry about breaking on these.
@walmos
@walmos 8 ай бұрын
@adventuregearinsider Thank you for your response. I ask that question because I had two bikes that the frame got broken exactly at the section where the pole is. It's my understanding that the frame is aluminum and aluminum tends to crack under a lot of tension. I am shopping around because I NEED a bicycle, in my case is not for luxury, is a need. Blessings.

@@walmos are you extending the seat post out past the minimum insertion line? If you are on the heavier/taller end of the thing it wouldn't be a horrible idea to get get a longer aftermarket seatpost for any bike to have more material inside the frame. I bike a lot with my bigger/heavier friend including a lot of mountain bike trails and he's broken a lot of stuff on bikes but never the frame yet. That is making me really curious about how you broke one.

@@lowbudgetadventurers Well, I don't have the bike that is on your review. My experience was with a different brand until the factory finally custom made a larger frame specially for me and I could adjust the seat on that one very high. So high that one day someone tried to steal it but wasn't able to ride it and we got him. I have to allow my knees to stretch because I got an injury on my knees caps so that's why it is important for me to have the seat high. The bike is for therapy that I need. My ride used to be just in city with nice roads while carrying my bag to go to school. (I guess that was the weight) I did that for 10 years every day but now I have been 13 years without riding and that is killing me. Unfortunately I had to leave my bike in my country because I couldn't travel with it. If you recommend this one I will take your word and advice. My first option was the Hovsco Hovalpha but I guess they don't want to sell me one. Thanks again for replying and for showing the bike. I will appreciate if you could do a video with the seat all the way up. By the way, I am tall but I am only 74 kilos.

@@walmos I would go a different direction for you and go for the Aventon Aventure 2 instead of the Tundra. The Tundra frame is about the same size as the regular size Aventure 2 frame. The large size Aventure 2 frame is a bit bigger. Our Aventure 2 review bike had the large frame which was a bit too big for me. The Tundra was just about the right size. The Aventure 2 large frame is spec'd for riders up to 6'4"

It has an IPX4 rating for water resistant. An IPX4 rating indicates that it is protected against water splashes from any direction but is not fully waterproof. It will work for light rain but I would avoid riding it in a downpour.

A Class 3 ebike has a max 750 watt motor, top speed of 28mph with pedal assist and no throttle. A Class 2 ebike has max 750 watts and top speed with throttle of 20mph. A Class 1 ebike has a max 750 watt motor, top speed of 20mph pedal assist and no throttle. The Tundra has a Class 2 label on it on the downtube. It is a Class 2 ebike when using the throttle (max speed 20mph with throttle). It goes Class 3 Ebike speeds when riding pedal assisted (max speed 28mph with pedal assist) without using throttle. There is a lot of grey area because technically a Class 3 ebike shouldn't have a throttle but you can disconnect if you want to make it fit that rule. Technically a Class 2 ebike should only be able to go 20mph assisted also. The Tundra doesn't follow that Class 2 rule either.

@@lowbudgetadventurers nice ive just started back into riding and yeah the first run I tested top speed on my new bike. after that I turned the PAS1 down to 25% [it was 45% before :O] it launched me before. now im pretty happy with my adjusted PAS1 [adjusted the others lower too] I got a favoto fearless 750w twist throttle and faux leather grips like the himi. there are many things about this that appear like the himi cruiser. [likely a copy] yeah I also found the slower speeds are more enjoyable. 14 is my comfort cruise & look around speed. kinda feels like tourist mode ;) oh yeah my fearless has a 2 yr warranty on the motor, electronics and even the battery! wow, might not be the best, but its my starter ebike. I just had to have 1 - lol I do like the fat tires - that was a nice surprise to me how stable they are on gravel/dirt roads. Im just learning, so no real trails yet. just rail trails & wow are they fun :)

@@bellyacres7846 yes, 750 watt cadence sensor bikes like yours and the Himiway Cruiser and Zebra tend to make you feel like your getting launched since they give you all 750-1000 watts right from the first pedal. Torque sensors are definitely the better option for slower riding.

Most fat tire ebikes are loud. Our Aventon Aventure 2 is probably the loudest bike we have ridden for tire noise, motor noise and just general rattle. The quietest fat tire bike was the RadPowerBikes RadRover 6 Plus but not by much. If you want a really quiet ride, buy something that doesn't have 4 inch wide nobbies on it.
