Gotta love that straight-to-the-point language; "...we don't want to see you in a bed or in a box!"

We used to watch these in school. I believe there was one where Joe got caught up in the belt on his combine after removing the guard. Thanks for posting.

I love these old safety videos!! They didn't mess around back in the day. Grandpa would probably scoff at the part of the kid wanting a ride since that was the best part of being on his farm. He had a piece of pipe clamped to the fender of the Oliver 77 and 88 we would hold on to while standing probably a 2' x 2' platform.

I remember seeing these when my dad was a salesman for our local Deere dealer, when the 40 series tractors came out.

8:30 the funny thing is they eventually started adding a seat because they just weren't gonna stop people from riding along.

I remember John Deere Day l was 8 when this came out. I remember the 55 series video too. There was a promotional video of a corn planter that flew like an air plane. Maybe you posted it. Thanks for sharing

I do like tractor safety vids, Leyland safety vid is good one too. As kid on the farm the deal was we could sit on the tractor in the shed but wasn't allow to start it, but dad show us all functions n how shut tractor. When operating machinery we weren't allow loose clothing, told be aware of our surroundings, stand out of way but where dad could see us, when tractor stop, engine turn off then approach area of tractor. Today i carry first aid kit, paperwork for tractor inspection as part of working as contractor.

It feels so weird hearing these people say the soundgaurd tractors are the safest vehicles out there, and that they have the latest technology, then you compared it to something like an 8rx or something like that.

John deere did not invent the Roll Bar, Technically it was a safety idea presented to the engineer board for White/ Oliver tractors in 1968. Not long after, IH had developed something similar that John Deere copied🙄😂 Thats all deere has done is either copy or bought out.

The John Deere pto shaft looks like it is difficult to grease universal joints. I don't like the new style pto shafts where you have to pull back on a collar and push shaft onto tractor shaft at same time. On some pto shafts attached to the equipment they put a shield around the shaft in such a way it is very difficult to grease the universal joints no matter how much you twist and turn the shaft.

I always thought, an actual pictures and videos of real accidents and real injuries/bodies reach to peoples imagination and their brain much better and stay longer. Seems like this kind of cartoon like style of passing the information soften and lighten the problem too much.
