Don't forget to watch in HD! If you're reading this, would you mind answering a question? Would you rather watch these painting videos with music like normal, or would you rather hear me talk about the process and the choices I made during the sketch?
Thanks for watching!

1) maaaan, you deserve so much more attention! I bought my first few tubes of gouache thanks to your first video here, and while I'm still struggling with it a lot (literally only used graphite pencils for ~13 years until 2014/15), I'm SUPER MOTIVATED to learn it because your work looks just so amazing! 2) I adore the avocado colour blob in the middle of the palette /so much/.

Hey Hannah, thank you for sharing them, very inspiring works! If you dont mind I (or we perhaps), would like to know your thinking process, while you are doing it, like the idea of the sketch or why you decide on what colours or mood you chose to apply, if that's not too much to ask. Please keep posting them, they gives me the push to keep painting, thank you again, all the best for you Hannah :)

The music gives a pleasant atmosphere to the video, but in my opinion it's always interesting to know more about the artist and her process as well, having the opportunity to hear insights and stuff as well. I guess both work well, but talking gives us more information about you and your art. Your choice. Anyway, great art (:

Hey I am enjoying your videos being I am looking to start using gouache but I have to implore you not to spray the fixative indoors and without a mask on being it is quite toxic to breathe in. Just wanted to give you that little tidbit of info I have learned over the years of working with pastels and the such.

Talking please; what did you spray on the paper? And what brand of gouache do you recommend for beginners?

+Schen Bear the spray she used is workable fixatif spray clear by krylon www.amazon.com/Krylon-1306-Workable-Fixatif-11-Ounce/dp/B00023JE7U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1457224155&sr=8-1&keywords=art+spray+fixative

+Schen Bear The spray is workable fixatif, but I also have a can of clear matte finish that I'll use sometimes. I prefer the workable fixitif because it's pretty glossy and it makes the colors just a little bit richer and darker than normal. I actually do not recommend spraying over your paintings unless you're certain that's what you want. It's permanent and it makes it very difficult to paint over if you don't like it or need to fix your painting. I use it on mine because they're sketches or studies and I just do it because I like how it looks, pretty much. I don't know the long term affects that the spray might have on the paint, so I can't vouch for it just yet. Use whatever you'd like on your sketches and paintings, just a word of caution just in case! :) I don't know very much about different brands of gouache. I prefer Windsor & Newton brand, but some of my gouaches that I regularly use are M. Graham brand. I've heard that cheaper brands look chalkier and can look kind of grainy. If you can, I would experiment with different brands. If you're unsure if you like gouache, or are just getting into it, I suggest getting two or three tubes and doing very simplified sketches with it so you can see if you like it. It took me a while to be able to mix it to the consistency I liked, it was really frustrating at first because it was either too wet or too dry and it was driving me crazy! But after a while I found a mix I liked. I hope that helps!

+Hannah Christenson thank you so much for the reply and tips. Yes I have tried the reeves gouache it does become chalky when it dries and one of the tubes is bubbling when I opened it also was runny and smells weird so I threw it away.

I'd go for both talking and music. (but not at the same time) :). I think shorter videos with music have a place as do longer videos with commentary. Just keep 'em coming. I'm really digging your colors.

Great work ! Both colours and character design are amazing :D I imagine story for him/her like through whole video ^^ One question: do you use reference photos for your sketches or you draw and later paint completely from your imagination? Ps. My favourite part is when you pull out "paper tape" (?). When I paint it is my fav part too. This clean edges... There is nothing more satisfying as final step :D

I think a mix of both would be great! You can try talking during a vid and if/when there are silences you could fade in music or you could talk in every other video; whatever's easier for you!

You're work is absolutely beautiful and truly amazing! If you don't mind me asking, and I'm sorry if you get this question frequently but, what brand was the sketchbook that you used in this video ?

Talking is the way to go. if someone doesn't necessarily want to hear a narration then they can mute the video while they listen to their own music where as for those that do want the narration there isnt an option to opt in to that like the music people do~~ Great job on the sketch by the way, such great work

Interesting character and great to see the process and how it turned out! I don't think it's necessary for any talking or voice-overs, although it could add further insights. But it's not easy to have to "talk to the camera" and explain things. Maybe some added text or notes would be useful in that case? Anyway, I wanted to ask if you keep the messy used palette as it is for future paintings, or have to wash off the remaining (precious) paint and start with a clean palette each time?

+Edric Hsu It depends on the situation. I try to use a really small palette so I don't use up very much paint. I don't like to use gouache when it's too wet, I would rather use it just a bit thicker. Sometimes I'll take an old palette and put just a couple new paints on top. That way I can sort of reconstitute the dried paint and mix it with the new paint to get the color and consistency I want. I try to avoid using it like one would use dried watercolors. Most of the time I try to put a very, very small amount of paint on to begin with and then clean all the paint off when I'm done. I find that, for me, the bigger my palette is the more paint I waste. I just never end up using it all so smaller is better. I hope that helps! :)

+Hannah Christenson Thank you so much for your swift and helpful response! I'm starting to experiment with Acryl Gouache which doesn't reconstitute with water like regular gouache, so I think your method of using only what you need and wiping off each time after use is probably the best way.
