I really like using gouache more than any other medium, but i do find that my end results are a bit muddy. I'm amazed by the amount of luminosity you are able to achieve. That's something i've never seen before. Really great.

A color explosion!! Watching you change different passages again and again was hard to follow with the speed of the time lapse...I couldn’t keep up, but it was a real learning experience. Thank you!

Love seeing your process - love how you change your mind on colour, go over things, work it through. It’s a great way of showing how not to take the painting too seriously and let it develop as you go. Very inspiring!

Thank you, Lyn! That´s true. When I start painting I usually have no idea how the painting will look in the end. I just paint and see what works and what doesn't work.

Beautiful! My favorite part is when you peel off the tape to reveal the finished edges. It's oddly satisfying.

Just found your channel today. This was wonderful to watch. I think I understand gouache better. I'd always heard it was like watercolor, but you painted this differently from how you would paint wc. I don't have much experience with wc either, but I have played with it. Thank you for sharing your process. Can't wait to see your other videos.

Lena I love watching you paint...a constant inspiration of fresh clean lovely marks. Would you consider shooting one of you videos with a camera on your pallet and paintings so we can see the whole process :) thanks again :)
@LenaRivo6 жыл бұрын
Laura, thank you! I will try. I already have been thinking on it for a while trying to figure out how to shoot my palette and keep it possible for me to paint :D It is technically not easy.. But I promise I will make at least one video with my palette included in the frame. Until then you could check my "en plein air" videos as in some of them my oil palette is seen very well. I mix my colors the same way with any media - oil, acrylics and gouache.
@Lauragld6 жыл бұрын
thanks for your reply Lena....I imagine it is more complicated....some artists do it with a split screen or go pro head camera...but this is all more expensive and complicated. All of this sort of messes with the simple joy of painting :) Pallette or not I love your work :)
@LenaRivo6 жыл бұрын
Laura Gould it messes with the simple joy of painting. That’s for sure 😄 But I will make at least one video with my palette included as it will help you and many others understand how I use the medium. Gouache is really a bit tricky to use. I think many people have trouble in handling it because they think of it as thicker watercolor while I approach it like oil or acrylics.
