Many people are on aspirin(mainly CV protection) less than 1-2 gms/day which reduces uric acid excretion in the kidney.

You say in above summary: "the majority of people with hyperuricemia will never experience gout and are better left untreated" Then, however: "People with more than one gout attack a year probably should consider ongoing treatment with allopurinol to lower the serum uric acid level to 6 mg/dl. This minimizes the risk of further damage to the joints and kidneys" Presuming there is no connection with gout attacks, per se, and damage to joints and kidneys by hyperuricemia, why wouldn't gout-free persons with hyperuricemia not also be advised to take allopurinol to minimize kidney damage?

I've suffered from gout attacks severely in the past. I got it figured out for my body, only took about 10 years- diet. I do take uloric daily. Basically, I say I'm allergic to processed foods.

The term you used for native New Zealanders and Australians is now considered offensive. Please don’t think I’m policing anything, just mentioning it as I’m sure most outside our two countries wouldn’t know from the literature. Hopefully a kind FYI. I love your channel.
