How do I cut the unused section of strip ? Can you help with that please ?
@charansaketh4 ай бұрын
I was checking online that if the strip is not cut properly it will not work. So was wondering where exactly to cut the unused section.

You should be able to just use a pair of scissors and cut straight across the ribbon. I had no issues with my lights whatsoever doing that.

@@DanielGoodwin-jq1oc Oddly is says on the site unlike their other lights, these ones cannot be cut esp if outdoors they wont work.

Can you get each roll to have its own color scheme? One roll red, the second roll purple for instance?
@DanielGoodwin-jq1oc3 ай бұрын
In a round about way, yes. If you're just looking for a solid color the combined strip (both rolls) has sections so you could choose all the sections that belong to roll 1 to be Red and all the sections that belong to Roll 2 to be Purple. It's a bit tedious in the app but possible.

Can I use the outdoor one for indoor ?

Yes definitely. Going the other way wouldn't work as well but if its outdoor rated then its definitely tough enough for indoor use.

How do I install Govee RGBIC Oudoor LED Strip Light H6173 around my house there are 2 rolls I cut them together or put them separately I have 4
@DanielGoodwin-jq1oc11 ай бұрын
You can't connect them together so you need to plan out your installation so that where one roll ends, is close enough you can plug in and start a new one. In my opinion, this is the biggest flaw of this Govee product is that it doesn't allow you to connect additional rolls to each strand (i.e. like Christmas lights).
Well done…very thorough ty. Same as yourself..i had govee rgb , app was innovative as community submissions made it interesting…thought rgb ic segment control outdoor lights for balcony would be nice.. but it seems it failed as far as segment control. May lean towards WLED, where there is more control. You may like those… cheers…keep vids coming…

I got some govee strip lights 98ft and for some reason the third roll of strips isn’t turning on, so you know of any trouble shooting tricks I can try
@DanielGoodwin-jq1oc11 ай бұрын
Hmm, if they're not powering up at all that sounds like a defect. I'd recommend reaching out to Govee directly and see if they are willing to stand by their product (I think they will but don't have direct experience on this).

actually says on the site you cannot cut these ones? Im confused
@DanielGoodwin-jq1oc2 ай бұрын
You can cut them, I cut mine. If you search on Reddit etc you'll see several others who have as well. The obvious caveat is that the part you cut will not work and you really can't re-attach it easily so make sure and don't cut off too much.

Hey can the two rolls of led strips be used independently (have their own source of power) or do they have to be connected to each other and share one source of power?
@DanielGoodwin-jq1oc8 ай бұрын
Unfortunately they cannot. They are connected to the same single power source so they cannot be placed individually.
@BeaniesB3ts2 ай бұрын
yes they can if you have 2 power supplies
