Looks 10000% better with the light tube facing you. No comparison. Facing it against the wall looks like every other cheap led strips

Yeah I agree. It definitely adds a unique look versus what you always see which is led lights bouncing off a wall.

@Chris Maher all these corner lights are designed as corner lights that meant to face the wall. I got a cheaper one and got one with round base so I can face it to the wall or facing you. Mine does all different colours, etc is taller which I perfer. The light facing you is bright, for music yes facing you, for mood lighting face the wall

I see they improved it, because last week i got mine. And the power cable exit is now at the right side, the led strip is covering the full extend of the tube and i don't got that 3M part, it's just cable.

I just wanna use it as a floor lamp as main use. Ambience light i already have that (LIFX Z Strip) and it's about 1000lm which serves the purpose perfectly. Idk man at this point buying the Lyra would be purely experimental. Thx for the vid, amateur-pro level with a soothing voice.

That’s my question. I wanna replace my standard living room lamps with these but worried it won’t light up the room the way a traditional bulb does and one that shoots the light upward. I have govee bulbs in my lamps now but the lyra looks cooler

@@theuncanspan You are very welcome! Glad you enjoyed the video. I think it will do the trick in your situation but I guess worst case scenario is you can just return it if it doesn't do the trick. I pretty much only but from Amazon these days because you can't beat their return policy.

I've read complaints that you can't use voice commands (alexa and google home) to activate scenes or that those arent save in the app which would be a major issue for many of us.

I have not hooked mine up to alexa (not too big into voice commands) but I am now curious as that does seem like it should be a pretty basic function you should be able to do using your voice. I'll have to check it out myself and report back!

A much better to look at design, clear, more harmonic than the L shaped stand. Not to mention the features. I already own one but mine won’t allow me to pick colors for steady with no movement‼️ I know it’s a bummer, now I feel like I should’ve got this one instead. Just bought the other one ☹️

Why can't we jus make 1 of these lamps Chris? I'm thinking of taking my extra set of the old school govee dream lights they have n put them on some pvc1 and a half inch up and down it with a t why base. Or wooden not sure yet. But I do need a lamp, rather than my cheap Walmart 1.

Ya I really like to have such a Lamp at home but DIY. Any guess if DIY is cheaper and if so how much cheaper compared to the original? As long as you can manage the colors of the LEDs yourself, it would be awesome to do it yourself like or even better like the one of the video 😊

hi just started to see your video like them but just wanted to say about material to difuse led light i always used the material from flat screen tv there always beind tossed out and use the shell and led lights os shop lights if get a chane check it out

What limits you from buying 2 pairs of Bluetooth HarmanKardon speakers. Buying a Govee led strip and fixate it to a led alumium fixture, create a base for it to sit ontop of the BT speaker. Kazaam! For 200$ per piece you have a stereo pair of speakers with a led show exactly like this for 30$ extra for the led feature. Total for a stereo par 460$ 😷

How would you compare this to like nanoleaf hexagon lights? I'm leaning towards this because it's much easier to setup and more sleek. Nanoleafs were a hassle, constant app and connection issues and honestly just way too excessive with how bright 1 is, let alone 9

I've never had the nanoleafs so I can't speak to them but I can't picture anyone buying this floor lamp and regretting it. So far I have had zero connectivity issues. I bought 2. Totally agree x2 - the remote needs a scene button. It would be great if the scenes included your DIY favs - saved to the app. Currently every animation via the controller are sound animations. They’re jerky af. Smooth animations are not available via remote. Ya gotta use the app. Agree #2z 1 face mine forward and love the look
