Hi Chaplin! Thank you for this video! I was wondering where I can find more resources about specific UChig profs and Ig their different preferences? Also, for course selections, do we pick our courses first and then get to know our professors, or can we do both at the same time? Thank you! (Btw I've committed to UChig class of 2026!!)

AYOOOOOO! Let's gooo. When you are picking classes through uchicago website, each page of the specific class would guide you to the previous rating of the specific class taught by the specifc professor (by then you will know). I would not worry too much because basically in your first year most of the courses would be core (and relatively basic, does not really depend on the prof). I would also consult senior friends who have taken the class before! Congrats again!

Hi!! I loved this video! I'm an incoming freshman at UChi -- if I were to take 3 courses in my 1st quarter, would I have to take 5 courses in the next, to compensate? Or how does that work?

Hi there! Well UChicago currently only allows students to take max 4 courses in the first year. And 5 courses as max for the next three years. You dont need to take the max courses/quarter to graduate, you can check more about it on the graduate requirement. Also if you wanna take more courses, summer is also a good choice (you can take online summer courses, more intense, but saves a bit of time I would say)

hi hi just wanted to add that generally u need to apply to take a fifth class and it’s really rare- a full course load is generally 3 or 4 classes & u can graduate doing 6 quarters of 3 classes each & 6 quarters of 4 classes each :)
