They are also good at hitting targets you can't actually see Imagine your target is the enemy spawn, which is behind a mountain. As soon as you spawn, you mark the target and then go low behind the mountain. Get speed, toss the bombs over the mountain and they will guide themselves to the target, and you can turn away without leaving cover This could not be done with laser or tv because you would need direct line of sight of the target

GNSS is Global Navigation Sattelite System. There are many GNSS system out there, and one of the most popular one being used today is GPS, which belongs to the US. GLONASS is Russian operated. Additionally, BDS (Beidou) is operated by China and Gallileo is operated by EU. Most of these are operated by respective government's defense and space agencies. But these bombs should have 5m accuracy spread and not pinpoint accuracy. It's unrealistic since GNSS have radio wave travel time and the speed of the satellites that may cause very small inaccuracy even if the location is static.

1. You don't need to set up target point, it's much easier to just look where you want it to land through TP and just hit "release guided bomb" button. 2. The only practical use of this feature is Sim base bombing and with the tip from point 1, it makes it a looooooooot easier. It's less complicated than CCRP and safer than CCIP.

I love reading the comments, these bombs are quite a fun addition for the silly non moving AA in spawn. So far I've gotten a decent amount of kills from them as well. Their far more useful as "clutter". I use the AV-8B Plus in Italy, I gain 4 extra bombs which I can use as decoys if the SAM is smart. However most times the GPS bomb takes the kill and my laser bomb can hit a different target. Idk if this is bias or not but so far they've been working for me.

GPS bombs will be very good for airfield bombing once they add JDAM ER, AGM-154, FAB 500,1500,3000 with UMPK kits, this will allow easier airfield attacks with minimum risk.

Chances are you're already using the targeting point keybind for other guided munitions (to pre-aim the targeting camera) anyways, so this shouldn't add any additional complexity.

My buddies and I use drones to mark SPAA or stationary armor and we either make long tosses or we come in low and as fast as possible and drop. Works through clouds

There are very few situations in which these will be useful, sadly. Guided bombs that can track or update course are significantly better against ground vehicles. Even against static targets like bases, it'd be better to take bigger dumb bombs and use CCIP or CCRP.

Whats the point of these if they don’t track, other than lobbing at bases in ARB? Most players are going to be moving around, even campers, so it’s just praying they stay still or don’t get killed while the bomb slowly glides to them. And you still need a marker from a TGP or MK1 eye so at that point you might as well use laser or TV guided bombs

Lobbing bombs at airfields in Air Sim considering the modular damage Sim's airfield got, somewhat hard to do without getting shredded by the SPAA with the unguided bomb.

CCRP tells you when you should release your bomb for the bomb to make impact with your target point. Just fly straight and line your aircraft up with the CCIP vertical line then wait for the line under the circle to hit the circle then release your bomb, it’ll only start moving once you get close to the target.

Hey zenturion, i noticed a strange thing on a10c. I had a load out with 6 mavs, 49 agr, tgp and 4 aim9m. When i ended a match with this setup the game told me that I can t use the mavs close to the tgp, so it automatically removed them. To fix this I had to unequip agr and tgp, then equip mavs and then equip agr, it automatically puts tgp. If you need more info about pls tell me

Its not a bug. You can equip one maverick G near the TGP pod and 3 others maverick D in the left wing.

It's a real-life constraint, the mavs near the TGP would fry it. This would be addressed in later versions, but not on the ones we have now.

The targeting point always locks a location on the ground, vehicle present or not. So yes you can. Where this gets tied up with other guided munitions is that they can use the targeting point to pre-sight a location (say, a spawn point) and then manually adjust to get precise locks on vehicles. But simply setting the target point isn't a lock for any guided weapon besides these GNSS munitions.

@@chesterhiggens Yes, though how it really works is that setting the targeting point on a location is already "locking" it for GNSS munitions, no extra steps required. You can move the targeting point around as necessary, and the munition will only take the location marked at the time of the drop as the target. If you're familiar with CCRP bombing, it's mostly the same thing except the bombs can do a little extra gliding and maneuvering on their own.

No GLONASS is russian system while GPS is US. GNSS is a satellite navigation sytem which can be GLONASS, GPS or even both

GNSS is just a generic terms for those systems, it stands for Global Navigation Satellite System, under which falls GPS and GLONASS (and others). Don't think there is a difference in game anyway.

@@Wotplaya4 There is a difference in bombs guidance time. US bombs can fly over 2 minutes, Chinese ones - 5 minutes. Russian - 30 seconds. Anti-russian bias, huh.
