I had a TSE 250r also. Unfortunately I didn't receive the same customer service as you. Maybe I needed to make KZbin videos about my GPX... On the first ride, the nut that holds the kick starter on and the c-clip that holds on the shift arm that comes out of the top of the clutch cover magically disappeared. Contacted GPX to order parts and paid a hefty shipping fee but not a big deal. Several weeks later no parts. Contacted Gary and he said he would take care of it. More time passed and the parts never arrived. Contacted them again, Got the apology and they said parts were on their way. Eventually got something in the mail but it was only the C-clip. The nut I paid for never came. (which isn't a standard size I could just pick up at a hardware store) Finally after almost a year of not having a kick starter on my bike I just special ordered a 5 pack of nuts online with the correct thread pitch and had to mill it down myself at work to match the thickness of the stock one. Also around halfway through my ownership of the bike I decided to order a spare oil injection pump because mine was leaking a little. Paid a little under $100 for the pump and shipping. A month went by and no pump. Talked to Gary again. Also mentioned I never received the kickstarter nut I paid for half a year ago along with the oil pump from a month ago. He of course said he would take care of it. Another month passes, no items. Contacted again to get the same dog and pony show. Waited another month, still nothing. Final time contacting them asking for the items I paid for or a refund of my money at least. Gary said he would take care of it personally. I thought that would do it. Well guess what. I never got the items I paid for and never got my money back. After that I just sold the bike and bought a new 2022 KTM 300 XC-W. To be clear, I did really like riding my GPX. Raced it in some enduro races and the bike was good enough for me. Unfortunately the customer service I received left a very bad taste in my mouth. Honestly id really like to ride this new 300 but I would find it hard to trust or give my money to this company again.

Man I'm sorry to hear that! Honestly I had good dealings with them before my KZbin channel, but I do get your point. It hasn't been my experience, that's all I can say about that, and from what I've seen it seems that way for most people. I'm wondering if there's a backstory or some weird situation, but yeah the ball could have been dropped. I'm glad you like your new bike and that's all that matters!

@@LCARSADV Yes it's unfortunate because I really did like the bike. It could have just been a series of unfortunate events but when Gary himself told me on multiple occasions that he would make it right and never did. It didn't instill a lot of trust in him or the company. Regardless of the company and how they treated me, I'm still sub'd to you channel because I like the content and am curious to see how you like the new bike. Going from my old TSE 250r to my new 300 XC-w was a big change but I'm having a blast riding it. Like you said, that's all that matters at the end of the day.

I have experienced fantastic support from Gary at GPX. I love my TSE 250 mine is a 2022 and I have not had any issues with the exception of a shift lever and clutch lever that I broke. Seeing as how it tumbled down a steep hill, Ii cannot blame that on GPX The Bike is phenomenal. I have desert raced my bike and I have finished all of my races without any breakdowns. Now I want to pass my 250 to my kids and get the TSE 300. Thanks LCars I think you just cost me 6G.

Compared to your TSE250R, does this feel better or about the same economically? And from your impressions so far, is it worth the extra change for the 300cc versus the 250cc?
@LCARSADV
@LCARSADV Жыл бұрын
All the bikes are the same ergonomically including this one. The only change is the non linkage option. As far as the 300 being worth the extra charge? That depends on the type of riding you do. The 250 is not a high performance engine, it's just a great linear reliable engine, the 300 is a high performance engine and the maintenance that comes with that. Both great bikes, just depends on the riding you do!

@@LCARSADV I tend to ride a lot of rocks because Pennsylvania. I've been using my 2018 WR250R as strictly a dirtbike since 2020. I'd love a good two-stroke trail bike again and I really have no need for a massively powerful bike because I don't race. I love the KDX200's because they aren't super powerful but they go through everything, and seeing how you handled the TSE250R, they seem to be a modern version of a KDX.

I wish these bikes had oil injection, would be a lot more convenient on the trail. When you run out of gas, almost every side X side guy has a can of gas but hardly anyone has oil with them. Just seems like it should be at least an option to get oil injection. I realize that one can always carry a small container of oil with them but it would just be one less thing to think about. Have you heard any news about future bikes having that option available?
@LCARSADV
@LCARSADV Жыл бұрын
I thought the same thing, but honestly it's a minor inconvenience and also you know your engine is always getting oil at the proper ratio. It's something less to worry about mechanically. I usually carry tools with me, so a little oil bottle for 1 gas tank isn;t too bad. You could carry the amsoil saber oil and run that at it's 80:1 also. I don't think that option is coming though.

@kennymichaeljoebananasc9400 Жыл бұрын
@bigblock428 I deleted the oil injection on my early model tse250 to eliminate a potential point of failure. Also installed a larger tank(both mods made it into the later models). I keep a small bottle with oil just in case and have given it to riding partners when they ran low on fuel. With carb tuning, responsible throttle control and running a higher gear when on straights I see near 50 mpg
@bigblock428
@bigblock428 Жыл бұрын
@kennymichaeljoebananas C Yes, I am aware of all the options that can be done. We used to ride the old Yamaha enduros back in the 70's which had oil injection and never had a problem with that system so I know it can be made reliable. To me it's just one less thing to worry about. I have had other bikes that I mixed oil and gas and that's fine also. Just wish it could be an option for people that want it.
@desertjas
@desertjas Жыл бұрын
While I have like the TSE250r injection, and they say there weren't many problems with them ever, the last 2-3 yrs were back with premix. I love the convenience also, especially while I'm trying to keep 8 other bikes in the family running/ready to go when we ride. But I've also got a very mechanical friend that has had to rebuild their Husky, KTM and Beta Xtrainer...that all had oil injection.

Most of KTMs parts are made in China now. The KTM Adventure Bikes are made in the same factory as GPX. Yamaha and Honda use parts from China. The China argument is no longer an argument as all bikes are now mostly made from parts in China. So, might as well support a small American owned business from Linden Utah (where the profits go).

You get what you pay for. I’m not looking at anything from China. I love my YZs best rated overall dirt bike plus years of parts accessibility. The aftermarket is also huge! A friend of mine had one a couple years ago, he was so glad to get rid of it. He loves his 2003 YZ250.

A yz250 is not even an enduro bike dude. Totally different bikes. Do you have any idea what you’re talking about? Glad you like your yz though!

@@LCARSADV after building these bikes for years, it’s clear you don’t know that a YZ is a great enduro bike. You could even buy a YZ250X which is a great bike for hare and hounds. It’s like you really don’t have a clue. Chinese bikes are crap!!

@@LCARSADV I don’t need to ride one, I know they won’t last, look face it, it’s from China. You haven’t a clue about anything YZ. You couldn’t even do a ride demo, lol! All kinds of bells and whistles, right?! Give me a break! Chinese 💩, with all that stuff on it, it weighs a ton. The metallurgy will also be in question. What I say is true, because of years of experience. It’s not just me, there are many.

You don’t have to even know that this company bassed their engine off of a 90-92 YAMAHA WR200. lol!

If I got paid that would sure be nice! Come back after you’ve actually ridden one and then give your opinion. You mock “biased” opinions by people who have actually ridden them but you yourself have not yet your opinion is valid?

@@LCARSADV i see direct design copycat from other brands without any license. This is clear fact. Listen your own review, everything so gooood - just look at it, its clearly stolen designs with subpar quality. Have some dignity
