Mr. Kimmel, how is the ecological density smaller than crude density? The area that is used in calculating crude density (in the denominator) is bigger than area used in calculating ecological density, so wouldn't crude density be smaller than ecological density?

You're right, perhaps I said that wrong in the video. The area or space is smaller when considering ecological density but the actual population density is greater than the crude density because of that smaller area.
