7:18 Wouldn't bxe4 be better? Couldn't he keep the quen there, protecting the b2 pawn? Sorry if it's a stupid question
@adamvarsanyi72285 жыл бұрын
you mean e4? and maybe yes...
@dakotayupyupyup83775 жыл бұрын
Actually no, if Bishop takes on e4, then you get Nf2, attacking the rook, if QxNf2 then Bc5! Gives black the advantage Let’s say you didn’t take the Knight with the queen, there’s not a much better move as it attacks the bishop and the rook, so you’d either move the rook or threaten the queen Moving the rook safely anywhere along the 1 file still invites Bc5!, and moving it to d2 invites you to nicely take the bishop while D3 is just a mistake. So, your other option is to threaten the queen with h4, and this has really just destroyed the advantage you had as you’re about to either ruin your position or trade queens into what seems to be a drawn game. Hope this was insightful!!
@dakotayupyupyup83775 жыл бұрын
If my above post was tl;dr; capturing with the queen gets the queen off the same diagonal as the king, which can be threatened by Bc5, a defended attack
