Gary Kasparov said in an interview to Yasser yesterday that "The thing with Magnus is that Once he gets that single win then He's unstoppable beast. The Flood gate of wins opens for him the moment he gets his win" and You saw how he won against Wesley So and Now against MVL and now heading to playoff. Mind This Mr. World Champion has never lost in playoffs or tiebreakers. Ding barely survived this tournament against Vishy. God have a grace on him. #BeastMode of Magnus is on. Let's see what happens to Sergey as Ian lost against Giri blundering 3rd time in this tournament. What an amazing guy Nepo is. 6 decisive result out of 11 and also Vishy drew in his last round against Hikaru and said in an interview if Magnus had been in his position getting those solid positions on the board consecutively, he would have scored 6+. Unfortunate, Vishy played too positionally rather than tactically. Waiting for the last result, seems like Sergey gonna win against Caruana. And We're gonna have 3 way tie for the playoff. Let's wait for Rapid (G10+5). #BeastMagnus is back. (Edit - We're gonna have 2 way tie, Sergey fucked up his solid position against Caruana and made it a draw just like Vishy has done 5 times in the tournament so far.)

8:13 I have an extremely interesting question. Say for instance you open up a discovered check from the pinned rook on g7 and it happened to be mate ( I know it's not in this case, but pretend pawn captured on g2 then f1, etc... and for some unknown reason MVL let that happen ). Can that actually be considered checkmate because the piece responsible for the check is pinned, thus it couldn't make the final move to capture the king?
@ItsAllAboutGuitar5 жыл бұрын
Nm, it's not that interesting. You'd just capture the pinned piece.

6:34 why not play Rc1 in order to save the knight after exf4 Qb2+ Rb-g7 h6 and fxe4 this way you wouldnt get forked and after hxg7 and Rxg7 you would just move the knight and be up the exchange. whats the idea here am i missing something?
@hisuianarcanine93795 жыл бұрын
disasterpiece x I think the idea is to prevent d5 because after the same attack and after some exchanges, black would would a strong pawn chain in the center. For example Rc1...exf4. Qb2+...Rbg7. h6...fxe4. Then wherever the knight moves, d5 is coming and if cxd5 then Qxd5 attacking the g2 pawn. If f doesn’t take pawn on d5 then d4 is coming and that pawn center would be too strong

Great job brother keep it up

thanks for the instant post commentary. @2:19 engine thinks knight to h4 is a lot better than rook on e1. can sm1 explain to me why? what if pawn to g5 after?
@faznaz74555 жыл бұрын
Rook to e1 is fine but the idea behind Nh4 is to play for f4 which seizes more space for white. G5 looks like a very ugly weakening move because Nf5 looks very strong and if you ever trade on f5 then you take back with pawn and the e7 pawn looks very weak. Also you can play for f4 to attack g5 pawn to open up Black's king. You can never play e6 with pawn on f5 after trade when knight goes to Nf5 which means other knight Nd5 can be played and you can't kick it out with e6 which means it is permanently on a strong square. Just some of my thoughts here.
