@@jaronnatoli As a vocalist myself, I think you have great potential. You could however practice diaphragmatic breathing exercises to push the air into your tummy. After a while you'll be able to sustain those bigger and longer notes Jeff's known for. Relax the throat and support your voice with the diaphragm and you'll find you can go on indefinitely. This will take the pressure off your throat and give you far more space to play with and less strain or stress to hit notes in the upper registers. I hope you take my advice as kindness and positive encouragement, I love your voice and would love to hear your full potential 😊😘.

I’ve re-listened one of jeff buckleys live version of grace after i listened to your cover and while Jeff tends to convey a kind of “rage” in the song you, on the other end, manage to convey a pathos that perfectly fits with the text of the song. Kinda shaken by how similar your voice is. Incredible. Jeff's songs always hit me on another level. Not sure if it's the EQing, but judging from this recording you possess a great deal of timbre and detail in your upper range, which makes this version incredibly satisfying to hear. Guessing you chose the subdued approach with the vocals towards the end, as I was kinda pumped to hear you scream it out. You should totally cover this with a band. A big hearty well done from one songwriter to another.

Thanks so much Filip, I appreciate it! For all my Jeff covers I tried to emulate his voice as close as I can. We do have a very similar tone, but I was definitely trying harder than usual to get each and every phrase to sound like him, and it’s not due to EQ either. With the end section, I honestly don’t have the strength in my voice yet to scream it out like Jeff does, so I did a mixture of falsetto and an attempt at trying to scream haha. Playing it with a band would be awesome. All the best with your music too. Thanks again! 🙏

​@@jaronnatoli Oh yes, I can very much hear the care you are putting into emulating him. Very attentively done. The EQ comment was more about the detail in your upper range, as it would seem that you have more detail in that range than our boy Jeff. Take good care of yourself, and invest some time in vocal training to build that muscle. Moving past the subdued singing phase was something I struggled with early on. Right now my struggle is with space and time, since I am quite close to my neighbours and the walls are not as thick as I would like. Whenever I sing it has to be at an ideal moment that will not wake people up from their slumber heh, which is an eternal struggle since I am more of a nocturnal recordist.

He is good but he slowed the tempo intentionally cause of his difficulty to keeping with Jeff's actual lung capacity where he can keep up his vibrato for minutes...This guy did well on his cover but he also kept the notes lower in pitch intentionally to mesh with it...cause Jeff was ridiculously skilled that he could easily scale 8-octaves in a whisper. Jeff is just the hardest man to ever cover- I suffer that defeat every time and I could hit Aerosmith...hahaha. So much respect brother on the work- we follow the path of this Music Messiah who "graced" us with the best vocal lessons found only in one album. It's almost a true vocalist's bible.
