Great video, thank you. I just ordered some to tackle my mealybug problem on my pepper plants. I’m tired of the neem oil and alcohol. We have some curtains hung up to separate the room from the rest of the house, we’ll see how that goes. One thing we considered was getting a mosquito net hung from the ceiling to enclose the plant area. But, just gonna go for it.

@RobloxGamer129412 жыл бұрын
That's what I thought I saw some lady was doing on an Amazon review for nature's good guys. It looks like she had a plant in with her ladybugs. That's also a really good idea. I've actually heard of people doing that with sprays that they would put their house plant into a brown bag and put some kind of spray inside to kill off pests but I've never been able to get any good information on what exactly to use and how long you know?
@RobloxGamer129412 жыл бұрын
I might actually do this with a bin and put my humongous photos in there that's pretty infested with spider mites and put some ladybugs in there and see how it goes. I think they've got a little bit of breathing room in there just because first of all, the plant is in there and wouldn't that create oxygen for both of them? Maybe not. Just sounded logical LOL or there's little holes on the sides of bins most of the time but I don't know that that's enough air for them. I'm not worried about the plan but more killing the ladybugs

I don't think it's crazy. I just now ordered 4500 from nature's food guys and excited to see what they can do with the spider mites and a few mealies I have here and there. The spider mites are my biggest problem right now though so I have some good that they can help. We shall see. Hopefully I am not supposed to know down any webbing before releasing because they are literally up my multiple foot long strands of pothos and it'll take forever to get rid of the webbing. I wish I had some sort of a general idea of how many to release per houseplant. Problem is, I've got about 350 houseplants and succies combined. Hopefully I got enough. I feel like I'll be releasing ladybugs for a full day 🤣

@sandreawhite75344 жыл бұрын
When they are done feasting on their smorgasbord how do you get them out of the house? Or do u just leave them there to continually feed and when they run out of critters do u feed them in the meantime?
@janicerosenthal87984 жыл бұрын
Sandrea White the 200 ladybugs I had in my living room after a few weeks just started to crawl out between the windows and within the 3 week they were all gone , of course there were so dead ones my cat got or were on the floor and I walked on by accident. But they did the job and left
@GracefulPlants4 жыл бұрын
They will eventually find their way out or die off. If you want to keep them around you can supplement them with food 😁
@janicerosenthal87984 жыл бұрын
Sandrea. Yes the same thing happened to me I love them I’m going to order more if I need they are great 👍🏻
@RobloxGamer129412 жыл бұрын
Once they have nothing left to eat they will disappear. They will either die or find a way out. Which is kind of the sucky thing because I'd rather keep them around for a longer period of time. No it's time to figure out what to feed them in case they run out of food on mine but I don't think they're going to for a long time LOL I've got quite the spider might infestation going on on a couple plants but hopefully not more than what I think there are

Hi! New subscriber here. I live in Wisconsin and steuggling with many pests every now and then. I just ordered this one. I hope the lady bugs leave my place after eating the pests. Do they die it i release them on bonide dead bug treated plants? Also I live in apartment so taking my plants outside isn't an optio
@AllThingsHouseplants3 жыл бұрын
So what do you do when you want the lady bugs out of your house? I don’t want them there forever lol
@blackstar86204 жыл бұрын
I personally couldn't ever do this. I love ladybugs but having them crawling all over the house? Nope. Plus my husband would snap and say that's enough with the whole plant thing 😂 I got rid of certain plants that kept getting spider mites like crotons and all palms and Decreased my collection so I can better manage any outbreaks of pests. Now I carefully wash foliage and inspect under leaves each time I water.
@GracefulPlants4 жыл бұрын
You can do it! It really wasn't that bad!! Unfortunately quarantine killed off a lot of my 'trouble maker/pest beacon' plants so I'm hoping to curb the spider mite issue! Fingers crossed!!

@josecarloesteban24673 жыл бұрын
Feeling very hesitant with releasing these guys into my home. From reading from your replies to others' comments, it appears it was a great success! How long did it take for you to notice the effectiveness of the ladybugs? How noticeable were 300 ladybugs crawling around your home? Any overpopulation issues in your home since releasing them? TIA! :)
@GracefulPlants3 жыл бұрын
My husband was not excited about the idea but it honestly was not bad! I hardly noticed them! I couldn't tell you if there was exact time that it took for me to notice but I did notice that my plants that were having issues started to perk up so I felt that they were helping! No over population issues, once the pests were elimanated the ladybugs kind of dissappeared. Don't ask me where they went because there were not that many dead ones around!

Thank you for the video! I am wondering how things are going 11 days later? i am currently dealing with spider mites and mealy bugs, and feeling a bit defeated. I currently am using neem oil with soap but like you say they just pop right back up.
@GracefulPlants4 жыл бұрын
Things are going very well!! I would highly recommend it especially if you can't seem to get rid of them with normal treatments!
@RobloxGamer129412 жыл бұрын
Ugh I can't stand neem oil. I don't use it at all anymore. My go-to out of probably 10 different chemicals that I've bought over a 10-month span of time, some natural and some pesticides and granules and stuff, my go-to seems to be 70% isopropyl alcohol all the time now. I'm a little weary using that on spider mites though because when I tap some onto a piece of paper and spray the alcohol on them, it did not kill them right away. I had to spray them again. Very strange and made me worried. But honestly I've done nothing to try to get rid of the spider mites on the pothos and they are hanging on like troopers and not dying at all which is crazy. They're literally up every single leaf and they're very very long strands. Very weird

2 or 3, not 300 lol, in my house kill all the pests. I never realized how many pests we bring in overwintering.

I know this was a year ago, but how did you get them out? Or are they permanent residents now? 😂
@GracefulPlants3 жыл бұрын
LOL! Honestly once the pests were taken care of the ladybugs seemed to just disappear. I figured most of them got outside because we never found too many dead ones around the house!

Do they fly alot in your home i wanna buy some for my plants in my rooms window i prob only need like 20 but these come in pack of 100 minimum
@HooliganArts4 жыл бұрын
You don't have to use all 100 at once. You can use however many you want then close up the package and place it in your refrigerator. They'll stay alive for a couple months in there and you can just kept releasing however many you need whenever you need them
