I was so happy to see that you were in this video too; I love your content. Also, I love the accent; I might be a little biased because I only have friends from Taiwan and Guangdong, but Southern/Southeastern Chinese accents are my favorite. Keep it up!

诶诶诶好奇怪哦~我明明知道视频的全部内容 但是怎么还在循环播放哈哈哈哈🤣thanks again for all your effort in scripting, editing, researching, etc😜 btw it feels like we only need another girl to make a blackpink in Mandarin teaching bahahaha😂😂
Idea: have a short 3 way Zoom call with your friends. talk casually about 自行車/單車trip or something (with subtitles) then playback and analyze differences. 謝謝啦Grace 老師(and I think I hear her say “不會" which does not mean 'no I won't do this')

This video is Gold. I just started to use this phrases with native Chinese people and some of them told me that they believe I was Chinese or I have a friend from the South or the North of China who taught me that expressions. 🤣🤣 Unbelievable! I hope you make more videos of this style. Super useful!

Love seeing Melody and Shuo again as guests. This really highlights the richness of Chinese, and it makes me realize where my kids have gotten random expressions from.

My first teacher was an old lady from the time where Chinese hasn't been simplified. My second teacher was from Taiwan. Now, my current teacher is using Beijing standard. So, I kind of have mixed vocabularies and phrases. Sometimes, I am with Mel, but mostly I am with Grace and Shuo Laoshi as my first two teachers laid the foundation for me. I relate with and enjoy this video so much! Thank you!

It’s always fun when you guys collaborate. I learned quite a few new things, particularly with the northern style of speaking which I realized I need to get more accustomed to. Also, I’m glad to hear you’re safe from the earthquake. I hope you and your friends and family continue to stay safe!

Interesting video! This is a bit off topic but Could you do another video on TV shows or Dramas for learning Mandarin Chinese? I know you did one already and it was helpful... 😊 I'd be happy for an updated version. Thanks! 💞

I REALLY need to practice my Chinese listening. I couldn't make out a lot of the sentences--it sounded like you all were saying one long word at times. 😭😭 On the plus side, I think my Chinese is closer to Southern dialect. 😅 Oops--never mind! Looks like I'm a mixture of all three! Perhaps that's because I try to practice with Chinese speakers from various regions? 😅😅

Just one question. In the part of "When you didn´t hear clearly" for 你刚刚 - Nǐ gānggāng I think that all you three make a contraction I mean I think non of you say gānggāng just directly gāng. So my question is just to confirm if it is correct make that contraction at the moment of asking someone to repeat himself. Great video by the way!!!

After living in the US for 40 years, my grade school Mandarin is far from perfect. However whenever I'm talking to other Chinese speaking people they were quick to point out that I 'm from Taiwan. My Mandarin is so broken I never knew how they may have known that.😂

Would Beijing Mandarin be the original accent? How would Beijing Chinese sound? Totally different from these 3 or its similar to one of these three?
@vincentxiao18367 ай бұрын
Keep in mind that this is just standard mandarin as well. If you compare with different dialects of mndarin like Sichuanese, Hangzhounese and so on, many of them are completely unintelligible with standard mandarin

Can somebody help me with meaning 认识 and 知道. In my native language, there is 1 to 1 translation with these two, but can somebody just check if it's 100% true? I'll write sentences, and can somebody just check are they correct? I 认识 Jackie Chan. I 知道 in what movie he played in 1988. I 认识 multiplication table. I 知道 how to use multiplication table. I 认识 self-defense techniques. I 知道 how to defend myself.
@soaringaegis7 ай бұрын
认识 is only for people you know personally. So none of your examples here are correct. The first example sounds like you know Jackie Chan and are friends and know him personally. The other two examples don't make sense because multiplication tables and self-defense techniques aren't people. Your use of 知道 is correct.
@heikachan80527 ай бұрын
@@soaringaegis thank you, you helped me a lot (so these two don't match in 100% with my language, just in 70%) Jackie Chan example was supported to mean what you wrote, so it's correct. Is "I 认识 a lot of people." correct?
