I like the Edey pick. I’m not worried about the paint clog. We had Adams for 2 years and Ja got better. Edey will come off the bench aswell so I love the pick even more. Ja also has been working on his midrange a lot

Yeah seems like he didn't think about the pick and roll. Space created that way. As well as the "Gortat" screen potential. Adams helped Ja and Jaren thrive, I think Edey can fill a similar role. We'll have to see!

The problem you have with Zach Edey is wild. Ja played his best basketball with Steven Adams, a guy who can't do much outside the key. Teach Edey how to set picks and crash the key at an NBA level like Adams can, and he's the perfect fit next to Ja. Dude is 7'4, 300 pounds, and can get rebounds at will. I'd agree that there's a risk with how he adjusts to the NBA since he's a very old school build, but when it comes to what Memphis needed from this draft then he was the best option available. A big body, that can get rebounds, and can physically clear the key for Ja.

Cody Williams healthiest 11 game stretch early in year of 24 he played he averaged 16.5ppg on 61% from the field and 56% from 3. His injuries were pretty significant especially the ankle at the end he shouldn’t have played on and slowed him down but he had much success as an underweight freshman and he has very good physical tools and the blueprint for NBA success from his brother I disagree with the idea he has high bust potential

Definitely see the reasoning behind Salaün being a reach for Charlotte but as a fan I liked the pick a lot. The new front office Jeff Peterson and coach charles Lee made it clear they were both super high on this kid from the get go and loved what they saw about his work ethic and shot and defensive ability so I’m gonna trust them. He was flying up the boards and was likely getting grabbed in the top 10 anyway imo so I respect the move taking a bigger risk on a raw prospect especially in a weak draft like this.

I’ve become more accepting of the Topic pick a day after. He’ll replace the main facilitator of the bench unit role that Giddey refused. The Thunder’s second unit needed play creating, so Topic should help with that. Presti has until October to fill gaps at the starting 4 and backup 5 spots, but free agency is coming soon. We’ll see!

If other Thunder fans gotta get used to one thing it’s not seeing the draft as the main event for our offseason anymore. We were just the #1 seed, we’re not in the phase of needing to make a huge splash to find the next piece of our core in the draft anymore. The Topic pick was perfect, highest value there at 12 by a landslide with his potential and it gives more flexibility and options in the future

Regarding the Hornets pick, unfortunately, I heard they had a deal with Portland to swap pics and get another pick in exchange, but then Woj and his boys decided to leak that the hornets were definitely taking Salaun so the Blazers pulled their trade. Also, Memphis just wanted a straight up swap of six and nine with no draft capital and couldn’t get a deal done. So the Hornets went and got their guy. If that’s the guy they want, I’m fine with it.

With Edey he will be fine with Ja, especially with the pick and roll. Perimeter defense is still a question but the block on Knecht in the elite eight shows he can move and has great body control when he needs to. Especially with his work ethic, I think he is more versatile than people think because at Purdue he had a role and played it perfectly. He’s efficient and draws fouls without flopping and can imagine him developing into a 15pt/8-10reb a night guy.

The B+ for the Bulls pick is a little generous. When you have a lottery pick, and you’re in rebuild mode (like the Bulls should be) you should find the playmaker or scorer you can build around first Bc that’s the hardest skill set to find. Buzelis’ weaknesses are dribbling and shooting. His strengths are rim protection, off-ball defense, and cutting without the ball. Those are the last skillsets you acquire to fill out the roster after you have your starting 5. I’m not saying he can’t be a productive player, just saying he has the skillset to match a win-now roster. Not a rebuild.

Intersting point about Donovan Clingan. The press in Israel interviewed some candidates before the draft. As a small country with one NBA player, one of the questions was on Deni (yes, they are idiots and unprofessionals). Clingan is the only player, that was very specific and talked about moves he can run with Deni. It's mean, he probably has learnt every team and thought on ways he can play better there. I don't think there are a lot of players that have ever done that.

Sarr sucks 😂😂😂😂 the dysfunctional franchise obviously made the right decision. Skipped out on a drama queen with no offensive game in Sarr yet wants to be catered to as a #1 option. That kid sucks.

ATL should consider moving Trae to LAL. He’s represented by Clunch and the Lakers clearly aren’t trying to win games over there so their draft picks will be valuable for the foreseeable future.

i dont think salaun would have been available at 9, as a lot of people had him going no8 to the spurs, that is maybe why they didn't trade down for him

I do think Matas would have been the better pick but Ron Holland is not that bad, yes is shooting has questions but if he can develop a jumper and would be a crazy player. He also him and Matas were top 2 picks in early mock drafts but the ignite just didnt care anymore cause the were folding the team

2031 is so far away, is there a limit as to how far a team can trade away the pick? Like can they trade a 2050 first round pick?

Did you forget that Memphis an Ja thrived when they had Steven Adams. Edey can be there new Stevo, plus he's a better scorer than Adams was. Its a win for Memphis imo. Everbodys so focused on what he cant do instead of focusing on what he can do. The Memphis players are happy with the pick, thats all that matters. I cant wait for Edey an the Grizz to prove all there haters an critics wrong. Lets go Grizz Nation!💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

The Edey pick was the worst of the first round for me. I think this is a terrible fit with Memphis. I think Edey would have benefited more from going to a place where he would be a bench player and would only have to play 10-15 minutes a night for the first couple years till he can get in shape and be able to run with an NBA team, and also work on transitioning his game to an NBA style game.
