I have never seen a shiner or minnow operation like yours! Great job! I live on Lake Tarpon and shiners have become hard to come by, catching or buying. I have caught my own for years and now no bait shops around here even sell them. All of the bait shops around here only speak saltwater. One of these days I'm going to make the trip down 60 and check out your operation! Love your video's, excellent job!

Any questions is a great question, fish that I shown to everyone in my ponds is a large mouth bass and the fish that I feed the bass with are shiners and minnows .

Hey Sam, can you use water softener salt? I just have a small operation for personal use and smaller bags are a lot easier to store plus what I don't use for shiners I can always put in my softener. Thanks

Do not use water softener😭it will kill your fish 🐠 if you’re using city water 💦 more likely you’ll have some chlorine in it but don’t worry. Do this, have your tank filled then let it sit for a day or two, longer it sit the the better, If you need to use salt, use the one that said for animals only and not for humans consumption. You can get it from your local Tractor Supply, look for the ones that said (fine stock salt ) Good luck 👍

Wild shiners are alerted fish and get spokes easily, free roaming bait fish and get attacked by other fish constantly. When captured and put in a small confined area they tend to jump and try to escape. Hope that helps.
