Hello MJ again :) I have been trying new settings on this machine and I wanted to ask you, have you ever tried with a 0.2mm washer + press the back button which helps you pull off the upper side of the machine. If you press the back button and move the head more than 25 you can get more coarse. I think you can get almost every size of coffee with this hack starting with Turkish coffee until pour-over.

No way, that's an amazing hack! I could try that for my cafetière. Thanks for tip!

Thanks for the video Michel, I too have the Graef grinder, imported to the UK from Germany (saved me £25 instead of buying it from Amazon UK). When I first used the Graef I thought mine was faulty as it wasn't grinding fine enough but in fact the issue was that I had the grinder misplaced - as you do for coarse grinds.

Thank you for watching, George. Interesting that direct sales are still cheaper. Usually Amazon is hard to compete with.

George could help me and tell wich the best number level for espresso shots if you use it for espresso? Thank you
@george88593 жыл бұрын
@@hassenboussoffara6613 depends on which machine you have, I have a Delonghi dedica. On the grinder I have 1 washer (metal ring) installed to make the grind finer than the normal configuration. For pressurised portafilter I use grind level 15, for my unpressurized basket, I use grind level 5. Hope this helped 👍

Hello, I have this machine too and I guess it has built in 0.2 mm washers inserted by factory. I have looked your google drive docs and I wonder if it has correct size for filter coffee with 0.2mm washers? Or is there any way to do this with 0.2mm? Thank you.
@mjbartending2 жыл бұрын
Hi Tolga, I don't use any washers when grinding for filter coffee. Theoretically you could still do with one 0,2mm washer but you'll have to use less coffee, as it is on the finer extreme of filter grind. If you don't reduce the dosage, the drip time becomes too long. So not necessarily a bad thing, but with the 0,2mm washer most standard drip coffee recipes that you'll hear in videos, fora, etc. won't work that well so you'll have to adjust for time and ratio yourself.

Is it possibile to start the grinding without using the portafilter button? Like a on/off switch
@mjbartending2 жыл бұрын
Not the way it is. You'd have to replace that portafilter button with a click-button.

Thanks for the video, any difference between 702 & 800 models ? Do you recommend 702 for non-pressurized basket delonghi dedica ? how fine it grinds. Thanks again.
@mjbartending4 жыл бұрын
Hi! From what I've seen the 800 series has a 40 step finesse scale and the 700s a 25 step scale. However, with the adjustable washers the 700 series basically has a much wider finesse range than you migh think. In the German manual of the 800 series, 3-step fine adjustment of the grindingwheel itself is mentioned. This seems to serve the same purpose as changing washers on the 700. The "automated" function of the 800 is no more than the "push to start and stop" button that you can activate with a portafilter, but no automated dosage. Same size bean reservoir. So no real benefit from what I see, but a stronger aluminium body on the 800. The 700 is good enough for factory pressurized filters, but it is hard to dial them in because of the fake crema. Go non pressurized if you cna!

I installed grinding wheel correct way but It don't grind at all at finest settings. Help
@mjbartending2 жыл бұрын
That could be the limit of the machine itself. I encountered the same when nearing or going below setting #5. Those finest settings only work when you install the thicker washers underneath, for slow pour grind. On espresso finesse, it clogs up around #5 and lower.
@TheProject432 жыл бұрын
@@mjbartending maybe you are right. Im trippin' a little bit because I own my grinder for a week and it was grinding with no problem at finest setting but today after I clean it and reassembly it start grinding around 8 and do it very slowly.

Hi Németh, I havent't tried V60 with this grinder set up yet but I would my finer (yet still affordable) scale than the JoeFrex seen here. I'll check which model it is when I get home.

@@mjbartending sorry, maybe i said wrong. I meant for grind size. I usually use with the 20 and for mocca with 15. Whats your opinion about it?
@mjbartending3 жыл бұрын
@@malimalbub I understand now ☕ For moka pot my coarseness for light roast is 25 but with two 0.2mm washers installed, full routine here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnaUfoeAd6aghck . V60 I haven't got to try yet as I unexpectedly got fungus in my attic which is a pain in the ass to clean. The recommended V60 coarseness is medium-medium fine. Medium I tested to be setting 20, but without any washers installed. Medium-fine I have yet to try out with light roast coffew but I got different coffee as a gift that I need to finish first. Once. I've found my settings, you can read them here: docs.google.com/document/d/17fl0H44RmxDoH50x8Yc9O-PXv3R2WHO_hbo_S-IA3qQ/edit?usp=drivesdk
