All these slip and falls on what looks like dry ground is on a phenomenon that we here in the US call "black ice." It got that name because in the winter in some states a thin sheet of ice, usually from a light rain, fog, or a brief dose of sleet forms over the asphalt roads that causes lots of accidents every year. I was gonna say the same thing. It got its name because the roads look black when wet but it's not just wet , it's a thin layer of ice. It can happen on any color of surface but, it's still called "black ice."

My brother’s birthday was on Christmas Day so we had his 1/2 birthday on June 25th so he didn’t feel that he was getting shafted by gifts. It worked for him. His special day.

My cousins B-day is on Christmas Eve...his parents always gave him the option to celebrate it a month early or a month later...he usually checked the calendar because whenever one of them (the kids) had a B-day on a weekday, they were allowed to skip school and do something fun. My birthday is the same as his. In my younger years I always felt so cheated upon hearing Here is your birthday and Christmas present! I so wished for a June birthday. After a couple of decades I learned that presents are not that important compared with never having to work on my birthday, my family does not have an excuse not to attend my birthday party, and we always have a great meal on my birthday. Hang in there, it gets better the older you get.

Now Mr. Graham you and the family need to react to Squirrel obstacle courses. Americans love their bird feeders. Problem is they must deal with those pesky squirrels in their back gardens. You see squirrels love bird seed and can wipe out a large amount of seed in a short period of time. So, Americans construct obstacle courses around the feeder to try to keep those squirrels away. But they are a determined critter and watching them try to negotiate that course can be quite entertaining.

Black ice is the most dangerous it’s a sheet of ice as clear as glass really hard to see, it looks like the ground it’s on.
