If you see a bear climb a tree, if it climbs up after you, it's a black bear, if it knocks the tree over, it's a grizzly, if it just plucks you out, it's a Kodiak. This way you know what's eating you.

That's funny, but let's not scare these folks too much. A black bear will not chase you unless you are perceived as a threat to it or its cubs. They also range in size from a St. Bernard to a large adult man. They range all over the enitre US and the forested parts of Canada. Grizzlies and kodiaks also will generally leave you alone, but if you surprise them they can get unpleasant. They can be found from the Rockies west. You are in much more danger from a polar bear, but almost no one goes where you might find one, and you can learn the precautions for them if you go to those far north regions.

The narrator is dead wrong about the great white shark. The BULL SHARK is far more aggressive and far more dangerous and can be found in salt water and fresh water. BULL SHARKS have been spotted 600 miles inland up the Mississippi River clear up to Ohio.

Yeah, I think he confused the two. Bull Sharks are a lot more deadly and attack humans in greater numbers. They can even swim up rivers. Nine times out of Ten, if there is a shark attack in the US, it's from a bull shark.

Yeah. A bull shark will *eat* you. A great white will confuse you for a seal, bite down (which very well might kill you) and then leave you alone. Too bony, not enough blubber. Not so on a bull shark. Humans are on their menu.

Two things about bison that he got wrong: there ARE populations outside Yellowstone (there’s a herd here in Utah that lives on Antelope Island in the Great Salt Lake); and actually, there have been fatal bison attacks. There have been two or three in the past couple of years. They are not friendly, they are not okay to approach under any circumstances. Plus, they are built like a tank.

As someone raised in Florida Alligators aren't too dangerous unless you end up in the water with them. NEVER go swimming in a pool at night if the water is dark and you can't see what's in it! Alligators can also climb fences and often end up in people's swimming pools!

I live in Wyoming in the USA and moose aren't a joke at all - - they can kick in all directions and my truck has several dents because a female got really, REALLY ticked off that I was driving alongside her babies. Love the video, guys!

When hiking in Grizzly Bear country, the Sierra Club says to sew little bells on your clothing, to warn the bears. Also to carry Pepper Spray. One can always tell if a Griz is around, because their poop has little bells in it and smells like peppers.

That is still a bad owner, you need to train your dog diligently. People believe they're so entitled to having a pet but anybody who won't rigorously train their dog has no right to own one at all. Just because you aren't abusive dosen't mean you're a good pet owner, being oblivious, ignorant, and uneducated about the animal you're taking on also makes you a bad owner.

I think because so many people are subpar or mediocre, or even straight up bad pet owners that it's really normalized to treat them in that manner, even for people who really love their pets. what needs to be understood is that love as a feeling is different than love as a true concept where it's based on respect and proper care/treatment. surviving is not thriving, animals can survive many horrid situations for long periods of time. giving your dog the bare minimum to survive is not a reflection of healthy love, or it means you're just not in a place where having a dog is right for you. that includes feeding the cheapest/low quality food, not giving them enough mental and physical stimulation to be happy, not keeping up with things like their nails, it extends to all manner of things. you don't have to be a terrible person to be a poor pet owner, and I think people just hesitate to call others out or point out missteps because people tend to get very defensive when you insinuate they're not giving their pet the best lives they can, even if what you're saying is true.

The thing I always point out about this video and ones like it is that just because an animal is dangerous doesn't mean that attacks are common. Many of these animals stay away from people or have low numbers. The grizzly bear is one of the most dangerous land animals in the world, but of the estimated 60,000 in the wild, only about 1,000 are in the continental US and most of those are in the Yellowstone national park. The others are all in northern Canada and Alaska. In fact, Washington state has a long-term management plan to reintroduce grizzlies to the North Cascades national park because the lack of a large predator affects animal populations.

The most dangerous animal is the polar bear, they actually see humans as prey animals and they will hunt you if you are in their territory. But in terms of numbers, more people die from moose than anything else and it's not close.

I'm glad you recognized the roles owners play with Pitt Bulls. They actually are extremely mild-mannered dogs, with behavioral scores around the same as golden retrievers, but they're so abused and so often exploited by criminals, or so often taken in by people naive to how to train dogs with big bites, that they make up the majority of violent cases. It's horrifically tragic.

I was 10-15ft away from a moose in Rocky Mountain National Park at Bear Lake, it was drinking in the lake and then when it was leaving started towards our direction on the wooden path before stopping and cutting up another direction. It was incredible to see and hear the limbs of all the trees snapping as it went by.

They use to chase us all over and it was scary at times. We would have to hide in the skidder or yarder logging equipment to escape them

that's not safe. There are fake coral snakes that still have venom, there are some coral snakes that can appear with different patterns. Snakes attack as a means of defense. Just be safe and leave them alone. 👍

​@Cleiton602 There are eastern and western coral snakes..here in Arizona we have western coral snakes and western king snakes...they hunt, kill, and eat other snakes, including coral and rattlesnakes. The poison does not affect them, and they kill by constriction.

I would love to to see you guys react to the video of the Utah hiker encountering a cougar, or “Mountain Lion” where I’m from in the US (the 6+ min video). As a side note, as a Californian diver, we are taught that if you see a shark, you are supposed to (if relevant) sink to the ocean floor and stay still until they pass; as sharks like to attack from below their victim, and there’s a good chance it’s a great white if you’re diving in CA.

It is a particular danger during the fall rut (mating season). The rest of the year they are generally watchful and shy, but during rut they go wherever they think they can mate, and they don't heed traffic. BTW, @jdbroders64, they are not just a danger out west - they are the number one cause of human fatalities involving wildlife east of the Mississippi too.

Where I live in California we have a different type of scorpion, Cougars, Black Bear, Black Widows and Rattlesnakes. None of these really scare me. CA also has the Great White Shark and I've heard that Southern CA has started getting Brown Recluse Spiders. These and Alligators definitely scare me.

There is a law in Louisiana making owners criminally liable for dog attacks, named after my grandmother, specifically because of pitbulls. While I love dogs, so many owners of pits are horrible at knowing how to handle and train a large dangerous breed.

I have handled dogs all my life. Been bit quite a few times. But I am more hesitant around a chihuahua than a pit. They BITE, maybe not as strongly, but defiantly more willingly.

There's a story that one of my uncles told me a few years ago now, about a photographer who was visiting Vermont, or driving through the mountains on his way elsewhere. Either way, he was driving up one of the mountains in his Jeep and was rounding a bend and came across a full grown bull moose eating grass on the side of the road, therefore blocking the entire road. So, after getting out and taking a couple of pictures of the animal, the photographer got back into his Jeep and started to pull closer to the animal slowly, honking his horn in an effort to get the moose to move. After several minutes of annoying the animal, the moose apparently got tired of the noise and pushed the Jeep and the photographer over the edge of the mountain road and down a cliff. Thankfully the drop wasn't far and the photographer made it out alive, but it was an experience that most people don't get to have. The living after being pushed off a cliff thing, not the seeing a moose thing. Stay away from them and you'll be fine. Unless its rutting season and there are moose fighting for the right to mate near where you live. Then just go back to bed, you're not going to work/school.

I enjoy watching your family videos, it's fun to watch your reactions to the subjects you present. I used to go out with my childhood buddy back in the '70s (yup...I'm a old fart) and catch Scorpions to sell to the vendors at swap meets who encased them in acrylic to make paperweights, bolo ties and the like. I've had been stung so many times I built up an immunity to thier venom. Later in life when I was serving in the United State Marine Corps I would go out to the Mohave Desert and milk Rattlesnakes, luckily I never was struck by one of them. I was bitten by a Black Widow when I was a kid in Arizona. You could go out at night with a flashlight and find them in the Oliander bushes around the yard. I should have checked my Stingray bike with a flashlight before grabbing the handle bars to go out on a evening ride with my buddies. Love your videos, keep up the good work.

If you head a little further north into Canada, you can have black bears, brown bears, grizzle bears and polar bears. Also, cougars, mountain lions , bobcats and lynx. Buffalo, elk and moose can be fairly benign, but can be dangerous. There are others, but probably not seen as often.

I live in LA, and I went to Yellowstone in 2022. I saw a moose without horns near our AirBnB in Idaho and a bison at the park near at Old Faithful. There’s bison that are in Southern California too, but they were introduced. They were brought to Catalina Island for and old western movie. There’s also some at William Hart Park. I’ve also seen alligators at the Everglades.

I was working at a resort on Sanibel Island, FL in 2010. It was the Island Inn (sadly the Inn was destroyed by Hurricane Ian), and us employees lived in the apartments across the street. One day we are all getting ready for work and someone said "hey, why is the chefs dog over there in the scrub?" We went outside to see what was going on and as we got close the animal turned towards us and we saw it was a cougar! It wasnt aggressive and seemed completely disinterested in us. We were even trying to call it over like it was a house cat ... pspsps ... mew mew .. here kitty kitty.. Nothing worked LOL. It could care less about us, and slinked back in to the scrub and disappeared. So if you give it space and dont seem like any kind of threat, it will just look at you for a minute and go about its business. We saw it a few more times after that and same thing, it was not interested in us in the least.

We had a male pit... He developed cancer and passed away about a year and a half ago. He was a great loyal pup, he never even snapped at us. He was an abused dog that was chained in a shed when young that was rescued too.

Pops is back!!!!! Wild animals here are terrifying. To me, a bull(male) moose is terrifying and territorial. Also, a cow(female) moose with a calf(kid) is terrifying because she’s not open to ANYONE coming near the child. Their mother instinct is at high alert. Yet, I live in the Front Range in Colorados Rocky Mountains and I’ve saw my fair share of moose. I’m not even getting started on momma bears and their cubs(kids). There’s also snakes and spiders.

I hunt moose. Personally I'd rather encounter a bull. Living in Maine I've only experienced 1 agressive bull that was young and wanted to fight my truck lol and the rest usually run away or stand around. Cows though I've had them stand their ground or charge with calves or even alone at least half a dozen times. Bear I've seen a mother put the cubs up a tree and run multiple times. But it's definitely good to keep a distance with them all why chance it. I'd rather see a moose or bear than snakes and spiders lol.

Our family has a pit bull rescued from a high kill shelter. She is the sweetest dog and has 6 cat brothers she cuddles up with to sleep. She is an amazing dog full of love and playfulness.

As an Aussie I find this refreshing because according to US reactors on Utube I had the impression that Australia had a monopoly on animials that were trying to kill you. Seriously I think I would feel safer staying here in Oz at least with land based animals. The footage of the Great White attacking the surfer was from Jeffries Bay in South Africa not California and the surfer who punched it when it attacked him was Australian Nick Fanning a world champion professional surfer. We also lived in South Africa and Mozambique for a few years and experienced some pretty dangerous critters over there as well.

Understanding the animals in usa or Australia makes the fear less.. I'm in FL.. we are taught to respect each animal and how it's nature is.. what not to do and what to do.. this makes us have less incidents. It's usually when ppl don't respect the animals nature that things happen.. sometimes it's just bad luck even if you do everything right.

​... most animals won't actually hunt humans here in America unless someone has been feeding it which is why you are told not to.. it's illegal to feed gators in Fl for this reason. In times of real hunger though when there's not enough food.. like if to many gators in a smaller area.. they have been known to hunt humans then.. when I say this is rare..I only know of 1 time and the location also it still could have been from humans throwing food to them even if out of fear so they could pass on a trail. Usually animals want nothing to do with us. Wolves can be a different story as coyotes can be as well... but ppl living in areas with them are taught the best ways to avoid incidents. I'm in FL and we know when it's considered safe to swim and when it's not.. millions here swim in the waterways where gators live without incident.. respecting the animals nature usually prevents attacks. We are also taught that if attacked to shove your arm down the gators throat.. it forces a flap open so they will drown if they don't let go of you..a little girl saved her life that way several yrs ago.

Barks are no joke, but like most arachnids they are NOT aggressive and will run away if at all possible. When I see them in the house, whenever possible I scoop them out and boot them outside so they can eat bugs. The Mojave Viper is actually the most venomous snake, and a bite CAN be fatal; but it is limited to extreme southern Nevada and around Baker CA.

I have a story of a friend who got attacked by a cougar a bit of backstory the friend was top of the wrestling team the cat jumped at him he got behind it put it in a choke hold and held it for 10 minutes after the cat stopped moving and just walked back into town he was admittedly pretty shaken up by that experience and even felt bad for the cat but he was also glad he wasn't injured

We have staffordshire bull terriers, they are happy big goofballs, lol, and a Cain Corso. These breeds are sweet and very loyal. Any dog has a propencity to bite, it's the owners who unfortunatly train them to be bad when actually they're not. Love your cannel, keep up the great work. ❤

The strongest bite from an American Alligator measured was 2000 psi. They get up to 19 feet. However most states they dont surpass 13 feet. Saltwater Crocodiles weigh twice as much as an American Alligator does. Alligators have a nasty reputation, but they rarely cause any deaths. No more than a death a year on average. SALTWATER CROCS kill way more poeple per year than Alligators. The Nile Crocodiles are the ones you should be looking for if you want to know which one is the most deadly. The reason is its death counts of humans far surpass the Saltwater and any other species of Crocodiles and Alligators and Caimon. Also the reason why the Saw Scaled Viper is the most deadly snake on earth.

I'm from Wyoming. We frequently have to close certain parts of town because Moose come down from the mountains. No one even tries to transport them. They just close down the area until they leave. Our park closed down for almost an entire summer once. We also have several herds of Bison. People always ask me what the most dangerous animal we have in our area is. They expect me to say mountain lions, bison, wolves, brown and black bears, even a rattle snake or brown recluse spider. But everyone will tell you it's Moose.

A man was just killed this year in Prescott, AZ by a predatory black bear while working at his home building site. A neighbor shot and killed it, but it was too late. Here in Kingman, AZ a woman was stomped to death by a male elk six months ago.

Fl only so many ppl get to buy tags to catch gators.. the problem is from my understanding though that the same ppl in areas seem to be the ones whom always get the tags.. not a fair system as it seems to take money and money talks. There are exceptions or were anyhow when I was growing up in a county with citrus groves you were allowed to kill any on groves as they were a danger to the workers.. so mostly you could get a hold of wild gator meat if you know someone and some poor ppl were able to kill some this way.

I live in East Tennessee and the black Bear is just a big garbage dog. 99/100 when you see them if you just start talking the run the opposite direction. Now the grizzly bear is a completely different animal!

I was staying at a cabin in Gatlinburg Tennessee one time and there was a bunch of bark scorpions around the cabin and some inside of it. Good times You can also see alot of bears in Gatlinburg Tennessee. And pigeon forge Tennessee.

There is a black bear in my town that is somewhat of a local celebrity. He hasn't hurt anyone yet but does love to play chicken running out from the woods at the last moment making cars stop. Since then the town has put up a bear crossing sign up in an effort to both keep the bear and motorists safe.

Lots of cougars and bears here in Oregon, at times right on the outskirts of town. A cougar was shot here 5 years ago as it had wandered onto a college campus... probably looking for an easy meal of the flocks of wild turkeys which hang out there.

We were camping at a National Park in Northern California and at the entrance of the campground were a large herd of moose! These moose were very used to people obviously - however, still wild and need to be left alone - my teenage son at the time was so curious as to why they didn't run - so he took the camera and to get some pictures of these amazing animals and next thing I hear is loud foot running noises to our camp site - it was my son who said he thought one of them were chasing him - he got a bit close with the camera and while I'm sure it just took a step to get him away - I will say - it actually was pretty funny! These are majestic beautiful animals !! It was awesome to see them the several days we were there and experience their size and just get to watch them!

They gave way small stats for grizzly, if you look it up it says typically between. 3 feet at shoulder to 5 ft at shoulder. I don't know if it's still the record but there was a record grizzly killed by someone hunting and it tried attacking him it had killed multiple people and he killed it from its feet to the top of its head it was 14 feet tall

I live in Hot Springs and several years ago a 7-foot gator was found and removed from one of the local lakes which surprised me because I thought they stayed further south but I guess not.

I do believe that in Europe, that they call Elk, Moose. I don't see why. They're two completely different species. They don't even look the same, other than being big. Also, in Florida, if there's water, there's probably a 'Gator in it.

Casey Anderson (one of the guys with the grizzly bear), as far as I have seen, actually had a good relationship with his bear Brutus. Brutus behaved almost like a huge dog.

I used to work as a wildlife professional, (zoos, sanctuaries, rehabilitation centers, and conservation/rescue parks) and throughout my career, I have worked with a lot of the animals on this list. In Alaska alone I worked with brown and black bears, moose, and woodbison (subspecies that moved north into Canada and Alaska and are roughly 200 bigger than the Plains (American) bison. The crazy thing about moose is the never seem to be moving quickly then bam they're close. Moose are the only ones I encountered in the wild. No run in with any but definitely closer then I wanted to experience

Most dangerous thing about the moose, other than its size obviously, is the fact they can kick in all directions, not just forward and backwards. They can kick straight sideways. So an attack can come from literally any direction with them, unlike other deer.

Grizzly bears can get really big, kodiaks even bigger. The world record for largest grizzly bear, was one found by a forest service ranger and he was 14 foot tall stood on his hind legs, and 1600 pounds. There was a Kodiak in a zoo in north Dakota too, no idea how tall it was but Google says it was almost 2200 pounds

Here in Albuquerque, New Mexico we have the Sandia Mountains next to us. There is various trails that people can hike or moutain bike on. Some guy was jogging and a Mountain lion attacked him. He had to break the Mountain lion's neck to survive. imagine a 100 to 200lb cat running at you

We had one that was estimated about 240 pounds up in northern California in Berry Creek, thing managed to actually take down a brown bear by itself. Wasnt a very big bear, but was still a bear, maybe a year old or so.

Just found you guys. Enjoyed your reactions to dangerous American animals. The scorpion and the black widow spider are really only dangerous to the very old or the very young, except if you are allergic to the venom. America does have some very dangerous snakes. Loved Dad finding out for the first time when the kids saw a bear and sister banged her head. Then Mom and Dad decided it didn't happen because it eases the parental worrying. I;m watching this and thinking how our Australian cousins are laughing at our dangerous animals.

Never walk barefoot around here specially at night. The TX striped bark scorpion is common here and nobody needs that kind of pain. Fire ants are bad, but this is another level. Cool fact, a UV flashlight will make them stand out at night, as they glow under UV.

The gator has like a trip mechanism built in.. just sweat from that man dripping on its tongue will trigger the mouth to close.. the gator may not even be trying to bite but it's just built like that.

Jono, it's great to see you back! The stories I could tell you guys about moose, bears and cougars lol. I spent a few months living out in the mountains when I was seventeen, it was about 4 months backpacking with a group...we had quite a few wildlife run ins 😂.

I have never seen a moose either but I know to get the F away from Bullwinkle. I’ve had encounters with bears camping in the WV mountains. They took my container of wasabi peas and left the campsite. My husband used to raise black widow spiders in our shed until our child was born and I made him dispose of the spiders. Tiger sharks and bull sharks are responsible for more human injuries than other sharks. They can hang out in the shallow surf. One guy was wading in the surf thigh deep at sunset and a tiger shark ripped half his leg off.

If you go into the forest carry a foghorn. It will scare away many animals. My son carried one every morning when he walked to the school bus stop.

In the rocky mountains the only thing you have to worry about are big cats, wolves and bears. Which a 12 gage shotgun will handle if they attack you

They didn’t list deer, which actually are more deadly than most of these animals combined. In small part they kill some hunters directly, but in large part they cause car accidents which kill much more people than the entirety of the animals on the list.
