@@chicofromph33nix64 After they dry up, they can last about a week outside or leave them in the fridge and they can last at least 2 weeks maybe more.

I used to get contam, but haven't had ANY for over a year thanks in part to these additions to teks in video: (1) Sterilize work area and items with UV light. Be sure to protect your eyes, skin, and mycelium. (2) Tyvek lab sleeves dampened with iso before putting on. (3) Swabbing with hydrogen peroxide when iso isn't suitable - iso disolves some adhesives and inks. Also, its vapors are explosive, toxic, and intoxicating.

Great points. Although I try to keep my Simple/Effective Balance tight, I'll look into UV Lights for sanitizing. If you have an Amazon link for good and cheap UV light, can you post it here? Thanks! 😎👍🏼🍄

I tried to create a post with Amazon links, but it looks like KZbin took it down. Anyway, for a still air box setup as you have in this video I suggest a portable UVC light wand with 253.7nm wavelength light. (Some of the wands are using less effective wavelengths.)

@@KitchenMycology That one looks good. Multi-purpose. I turn on mine for about 10-15 seconds to clean my work space, tools, and containers. I flip/rotate the tools and containers and run the light again to ensure surfaces are clean on all sides. I find this much easier than having to spray down my entire workspace with ISO or hydrogen peroxide. If you're new to using UVC light for sterilization it's worth your time to learn how to use it in a way that's safe for you and your mycelium. Most plastics will block it.
