Cool idea. I tried a 25 second exposure in manual mode with 100 iso and f8(sharpest for my lense) and painted with my phone flashlight tonight in my living room. Really cool!

Oh damn those tealights..I would have never thought that's how you were lighting the houses. I was thinking it might be a bit dangerous and/or creepy going inside. Well done!

Oh your video remembered me on one occasion in apprenticeship with a colleague and our boss. We both apprentecies had to paint a bulding with a old cinematic flood light each of us had to operate manually. Our boss hat a sinar 4x5 or 5x7, it weas night, no blue hour, we had almost no explanation from him, and he was as usual grumpy with his useles apprentecies. But it worked. I figured ourt blue light later, first with 35 mm analog film, nowadays wirh Nikon FX and then with Fuji X-Series cameras and lenses. Thank.s for thes enthusiatic videos, i shared them with my wife who wants to learn it

Hi Chris, I just stumbled across your channel today. I live in Ontario farm country and so I was happy to find this. Over the next few weeks I will watch your videos and start making plans to try out some light painting. I love the Tee candle trick there is an old pick truck in my neighbours back yard I will get out there and try it soon, hopefully with snow and a somewhat clear night. Thanks.

Been admiring your work for a long time now. I live in Sask and spend most of my time on the highway here. I've always wondered how you lit the insides of the houses, and sometimes thought about electric tealights, but I really didn't think they would give enough light! Anyway, this summer, I'm going to go down hwy 13, there is so much potential down that road. Also between Radville and Hwy 6. I absolutely love your work, and hope to make one of your classes soon. Thank you for this video! Have an amazing day!

Curious about the settings ? Why not use a lowwer ISO with longer exposure? Or, use aperture priority and let the camera do the rest? New subscriber, Great videos!

After setting the camera and starting the 30 seconds LE , when should i start painting with light and how many times during the 30 seconds ... Thanks
@attrell Жыл бұрын
Anytime and as many times as needed to make it bright enough in the exposure.

I don't understand the need for high ISO and fast aperture. Why not use a slower shutter speed and set ISO lower to eliminate noise and a narrower aperture for increased depth of field?
