For the money they gave this couple, they could have hired a forensic accounting as a condition of their investment. No, not everyone knows about this, but you should know enough about finances at this level to check the business out. They knew they were filing for bankruptcy. However, my comment was to emphasize the point that many, maybe including you, when they were prefaced and previewed on the news, were saying that "Oh, such a beautiful couple, this is how black folks should work together and succeed." I've never visited the restaurant, but folks were lining around the corner after that press showing. I was in the area a couple of times. I've dealt with white folks, sorry to put race in it, who've had at least three unsuccessful businesses and were able to go right back to the bank and get loans again. We, as a race, have to be more diligent and get out of this mentality that we have to wear designer clothing and show jewelry. I don't want to judge her, that is, the ex-wife from Turkey Hut, but look at how she's "draped." If she knew they were having financial problems, live within your means. Before investing, in restaurant you need to thoroughly look at all costs, profits, assets, liabilities and more. You should hire a professional consultant and attorney. I dont know if they did this.
