Gran Turismo 4 - PS2 Intro 4k 60FPS

Saw this clip from another channel that i like, and notticed that in pursuit of enhancing some details, the texts were oversharpened, so i took the time to pick one of the best racing intros ive seen, into a 2021 upgrade.
This clip alone would require a class about content protection and the workaround on how these amazing people of Polyphony got the idea of how make dificult for anyone to rip and make use of the media on these games.
To make it simple, they created a video with the 448 pixels of height, with the deinterlace field separated in the video, in a way that any attemp to recreate the original would end in a quality lower than what a screen recorder would capture, because they put the first 224 fields on the upper part of the frame, and the 224 other frames in the lower section.
To make it even more simple, it is resumed as this
PS2--Mpeg2 Native Extraction -- Interlaced Fields Rebuild -- Proper Deinterlace -- Remaster
This way the details of the clip are untouched untill the deinterlace, something that created very little artfacts on the still texts where they jump by very small moments. More than a heavy issue i would call it a proof that there is too much details recovered, even maybe too much as this tend to happen on pretty sharp footage once you apply deinterlace.
Sadly i cant put the original audio for Copyright reasons, and knowing the situation decided to use an audio capture to get the audio, since that media was hidden on the disc.

It is visually incredible, the only problem is the audio that I know is due to copyright problems, however, I think it is possible that the audio of the Japanese version can be heard, it seems to me that it does not have that type of copyright so restrictive , if you could it would be great and it would be much more epic. Esta increíble visualmente, el único problema es el audio que se que es por problemas de copyright, sin embargo, creo q es posible que se pueda escuchar el audio de la versión en japonés, me parece que ese no tiene ese tipo de copyright tan restrictivo, si pudieras sería estupendo y quedaría mucho más épico.

Never thought remaster could be legit, especially when it's interlaced low-res video. thanks for uploading a great vid. Can you tell us what softwares were used in each of the step? So that I can find some ways to remaster other PS2 game intros too.

I just opened 2 tabs at the same time, muted the audio on this video and timed up the audio from an older low res US intro so I could see the upscaling in this video while hearing the uncensored audio from the other. you have to sync them up, but it was worth it for me.

Yeah i dont know, remember that YT relies alot on its automatic audio finder. Funny fact, i had to rip the audio from other clip because i couldnt find it on the disc... only the music track without motor sounds. Maybe wasnt a pre rendered straight file, more like a "live mix" every time u see it.
