The headset takes away your super hero powers and that’s why so many are doing so bad at driving. You’re being cautious around corners and when other drivers approach. Whereas before, your foot was on the gas. In other words…the VR is making racing feel real.

I have been racing in VR for about a year now and it might not make you faster, but it will make you more consistent and over a long race consistency is king.

I dont know if u actually will enjoy it to the fullest to be honest. I have one, have been racing for two days now, and yesterday I had very bad motion sickness. Sharpness is not that good, and the biggest con of the psvr2 headset with gt7 is that the cars are actually not up to correct scale. They feel much smaller than what they should be IRL. What u see here on youtube actully does not represent how the cars look in vr. Even the steering wheel feels tiny and dinky compared to real world counterpart or even what we see on youtube videos. Scaling is waaaay off and that is annoying as heck. Wonder why the youtubers dont tell you this, should be almost as if they commit fraud when they dont bring the scaling up.

nice, I always use cockpit view since 20 years over 200 racing games, I'm waiting for that to be mandatory on serious races, until that moment bumper and other views are just cheaters, same for controller drivers. peace PS: I did not mean to be so rude, I correct the above with 'I love cockpit view', I also started with controller e 3rd person view so I was just rude and pointless, I apologize.

I started GT7 in Nov last year. I was drive 3rd person at first. Then I started to drive first person which was initially more difficult. Then I was getting used to first person. I was initially playing the easy mode. Now, with PSVR 2, I can play the normal mode with first person and I am making a lot of progress. I would say my PSVR 2 headset allows me to see real depth instead of relying solely on muscle memories. It is more about eye and hand coordination now. By the way, I am still using the PS5 controllers cause I am too lazy to get my logitech driving wheel set up. I suppose I can drive even better using the wheel.

Tip; to get the seat further away from the steering wheel pull your head closer to the steering, pause, wait a few seconds and unpause. It will reset you further away on the seat. You can do this to go up, down, further and closer. Just do the opposite movement of what you want, pause, wait and unpause.

It took me few minutes to get used to VR mode and I'm beating all my times it so much better and easier because you can see peripherally it's just so amazing I love it. I have also one question as I do stream little bit too my channel is just reaching 500 subscribers 😅 and I don't know how to stream from VR my main problem is I don't have any professional gear and other games I used to just stream and talk through my headset microphone but when I have VR headset how do I talk? Thank you for your help!

I've done time trials at Tsukuba in various cars with and without PSVR2 and my times are pretty much identical.

@SmokeKing Yes - Fanatec DD Pro with the McLaren GT3 wheel, V2 pedals, Shifter, handbrake in a RSR rig (Rock solid Rigs). I have been using VR on iRacing for about 3 years so it may have made it easier for me to get used to it.

Immersion and perspective can definitely change how well you play but it’s a case by case thing and not always for the better.

If it's truly locked 120fps in VR, u automatically have an advantage.

I find it MUCH easier to learn a new track or one I haven't raced in awhile. But if you know it very well and have spent enough time practicing then yes my times are no different.

I'm used to seeing you go forwards in daily races, so it seems to me you're slower! This seems to be the case for other streamers who've posted videos on PSVR2. What's your feeling for whether the pace will come back when you get used to it vs it just being inherently slower for some reason?

To see the if your faster u should do circuit experience and try and beat some times you’ve set b4.

Most circuit experience times were mostly set before physics changes. It’s easier to set fast laps now than it was before. Same can be seen if you try some of the licence tests you have struggled with in the past.

SSRT_Leah was absolutely ruling top split in the Americas last night in the VR, she does a great job on selling it. After becoming annoyed at being punted too many times she moved onto ACC, if it was iracing, which it might have been, my apologies, I was under the influence of whisky and Irn Bru; where she won a half hour race at Road Atlanta, though a different layout than GT7. Again in the VR, she took to it like a duck to water, amazing 😁 Like deployed 👍 😎🎙🏎✅️

Here your player/camera looks much better closer to the steering wheel compared to the other video where your player/camera looked far back. I'm sure there's a setting (probably select button/touch pad) to have the camera closer to the steering wheel or far back which I seen someone doing in another video. I'm wondering if you can adjust the height of the camera inside the cockpit before having on/switching to the PS VR2 since the settings with the PS VR2 are not available.

VR was ok for me until I tried Daytona, anything with an incline or a track with steep vertical ups and downs is difficult to perceive in VR, the disconnect you feel is pretty bad.

It is the opposite. I can see ups and downs very clearly in VR. I can't judge ups and downs correctly on my flat screen, so everything becomes guess work and then muscle memories.

pro: better immersion , fun versus: worst visual quality and being less competitive above are my take aways... the 600 bucks requested on my very own and personal scorecard do not fit the bill... sorry wiil pass for now . Only recommending (excluding this guy...) for other YT who received the kit at home for their honest review never stop saying that visual quality on your broadcast do not match what seen on device.... put a big disclaimer banner in case 😉

I've noticed in VR I'm faster is some types of corners and slower in others. Braking points are sometimes much easier to judge, and sometimes harder in VR, I overcook a lot of corners, but other times constantly nail apexes that I usually don't. It's so much different than playing on a flat screen. It's the same game, but feels completely new to me now. I kind of want to make another account and play through the entire game again in VR. 🤷‍♂ That's a lot of time though.

And pay the extra monthly PS+ and everything or can you just add a user and buy the game again or can you do it without buying game again? I never tried any of that. for sure...VR content is hard to watch when not in the headset. Some kind of stabilization helps. Hopefully he does a 50/50 vr/nonvr.

Here's my take away, VR is more about the experience and immersion then the competitive aspect. In competition, you chose the easiest route to victory. But in video games, generally we want fun and experience. Rather be last in races but enjoy them fully than be first every time and find it boring
