I was driving in to work at the event one morning over the Cambie Street Bridge and saw a huge cloud of smoke hanging over the site! I stepped on it, but when I got there, all the guys from CN (we were on their tracks) looked like cats with canary feathers on their shirts. "Really? Lot of smoke?" I took me half an hour to figure out that the 4466 crew and the CN handlers had crept out of the Steamexpo yard and done the morning switching with the big 0-6-0! Absolutely no official permission was involved, but apparently it was too much fun to pass up. Someone even had a stencil reading "Switched by steam, Vancouver, (date)" and sprayed the note on dozens of cars, so it had clearly been planned. It was still considered something of a secret, but at the closing banquet, we presented tongue-in-cheek awards, including "Best Imitation of a CN Yard Switcher" to the 4466 crew, which drew uproarious laughter.

@@TheDapTopEnginethanks and I think I know why. It’s because there’s a train whistle button inside the cab of #1201 just lik3 on Pere Marquette #1225 when it operated in excursion service during the 1980’s and 90’s until the 2000’s when the button in 1225’s cab was replaced, correct?
