The issue I have with the Sabo call was that the world government was tapping into the call. The revolutionaries have the white snails that prevent people from listening into the calls, which makes me think the revolutionaries want the government to listen in on them. So I doubt that the call is actually Sabo.

In my head, Pell's revival is still an exception due to the chapter releasing around the 9/11 incident. The whole ending of Alabasta feels like it has been abruptly changed at the last minute and there simply is no official explanation. People saying that Oda said Pell's death would have put a damper on the celebration, I mean, Wano just ended with quite a few important deaths while they were celebrating. And Pell still had a burial. So for quite a long time, he was presumed dead without putting a damper on the celebration. There has been no real reason to keep him alive either, in fact, it would have been quite good for the overall plot if Pell died as a sacrifice, making Ace's death even more tragic than it already was. I dont expect any other scenario like that to happen anytime soon.

I noticed Oda intentionally cut off the top of the den den mushi so we couldn't see if it was wearing a little Sabo hat. But for the main topic, the only person who wanted Cobra dead pre-Reverie was Imu and perhaps the Gorosei. If it was anyone else it would just add so many questions. Like why did Sabo kill Cobra while Dragon was seriously against it. In fact why was Dragon so against it?

I just realized that for how many years Shanks and Mihawk fought each other neither of them win Mihawk is a greater swordsman than Shanks but Shanks could counter Mihawk’s Clairvoyance as he is known as Killer of Observation Haki they both on par but excel in different ways

I don't even know why it matters. The only reason it would matter is if shanks had extremely powerful observation haki of his own. I don't get why observation haki is really important in the story in the first place. People have already done insane reactions to attacks why is observation haki necessary if people can move extremely fast? Like Kizaru, and assumingly Ben Beckman. And I'm sure that people can reach super fast if they use observation haki in the first place to dodge a lot of crazy fast attacks. They'd probably be able to do that without it it's just something to make haki have more abilities. If Ennel could fight at extreme speed why could Luffy stuff him without observation haki Ennel probably would have been physically strong enough to handle Luffy as long as he used a huge speed advantage.

That being said, Joyboy's story might not end in the Void Century. Kaido and his right-hand man King, as well as Roger, have all mentioned or implied that Joyboy is going to make a return at some point in time, with Roger and Oden believing it to be roughly around where the story currently is. King even believed that Joyboy has already "returned" as Kaido, and decided to follow him partially because of this. Due to how long it has been since the Void Century, many people both in One Piece and in the fanbase have assumed that Joyboy's "return" is closer to reincarnation than anything else, but what if that idea needs to be taken much more literally? Since the Zou arc, fans have known about the giant elephant Zunesha wandering the seas carrying the Minks' homeland on its back. It seemed like it was just wandering aimlessly, but this idea was very soon debunked. According to Zunesha itself, its trek is actually some form of punishment. It committed some sort of crime during the Void Century and as a result, it has been sentenced to walk for eternity, being unable to act or even protect itself without being explicitly told to do so. By the end of the arc, readers/viewers are even told that Zunesha might actually be walking the seas specifically searching for something or somewhere. Given what we know about Joyboy and Zunesha, it is actually quite possible that they are one and the same. Both hail from the Void Century, but there is way more than just that one similarity. They have also both done something wrong, with Joyboy not fulfilling his promise to Fishman Island and Zunesha's being a mystery, but still relevant. Question- Identity of Yamato’s mother, Pluton's appearance, and 6 other One Piece questions that are yet to be answered after the events of Wano Country 1) Why does Wano Country have different climates? 2) Where did the Big Mom Pirates go? 3) What does Pluton look like? 4) Why did Seastone originate from Wano Country? 5) Who is Eustass Kid looking for? 6) What happened to Kaido and Big Mom? 7) Who is Yamato’s mother? 8) Did Zoro really meet the Grim Reaper? ,

I think it'd be vastly more interesting to actually be Sabo and he reveals that the WG tried to or actually killed Cobra, which the Navy was not aware of until now, and this causes a divide from within, with part of the navy accepting it as justice and part goes against it. Imagine the chaos the world would be in with the navy itself splitting and we get 2 new factions with different sides that would still be in conflict with the rest.

@Arturo Belano Every 4 years for like the past 16 years Oda has said there's 3-4 years left of One Piece, and One Piece makes to much money to be cancelled by Shueisha, so I don't give to much credence to the final Saga editor comment. That being said there are lots of reasons to revist impel downs for the "final Saga". First off, the Florian triangle is in the area. Secondly the gates of justice connects directly to 2 other important locations to the WG. Thirdly, if Luffy found out that a nakama who had helped him so much was in trouble he wouldn't come help? Also Boa has probably provided more food to Luffy than even Sanji, so he's definitely not going to let a source of 🍖🍖🍖 like that go. And I'm not even sure there is such a thing as a side character in One Piece...

I am not a Yamato fan or hater. If they joined I would have been happy, but I am also not upset that theydidn't. Personally I think this was handled fine. Yamato is impulsive. Perhaps they can manipulate the user in a way. Yamato's fruit is literally the guardian of Wano. The way I see it; when Sabo came across the king, he took pity on him for his poor health and asked if he could help in any way. In response, Cobra asks Sabo to help end his life; sort of a "mercy killing" if you will

It breaks one of the golden rules of writing which is "show don't tell". Even if you thought it was handled well it still would have been better storytelling for us to SEE how and why Yamato made her decision instead of just having her reasoning explained to us. It's much better to see King Arthur pull the sword from the stone instead of Arthur just suddenly having the sword and being like "yeah, I pulled this out of the stone yesterday, I'm king now"

What about if Sabo by any chance had one of these two options, Vivi and Cobra dying, or Cobra dying and by this he would be able to save Vivi. Because who knows if there were some talk between Fujitora at some point and the Elders or whatever and they talked about Luffy and Sabo relation and Sabo found out that Vivi knows Luffy and tells him that she's a strawhat member. I bet that Sabo would save her in a heartbeat because of Luffy and by doing this Cobra would die and making Sabo the culprit even if didn't do it. But to save Vivi he would have to choose between the two and he chose Luffy's crewmate even knowing that Cobra as some relation with Dragon...the "kkkk" is how brazilians write laugh (slangish or something like that, instead of writing "haha" they write kkkk).

Theory about the final war in One Piece I was rewatching Marineford. Near the end of the war, when Blackbeard and Shanks face off, something struck me as a premonition. Blackbeard says, “we are not ready to fight you yet” when facing Shanks and the Red Haired Pirate crew. I believe that the final war in One Piece will be between Luffy and Shanks against Blackbeard. There, Blackbeard will kill Shanks, and Luffy will survive and win. Let me know what you guys think of this theory.

With Shanks v Mihawk. If Mihawk had won their last duel than Shanks would know he would have no desire to challenge him. Shanks won their last duel, than lost his arm. He saw Mihawk again and assumed Mihawk was coming to challenge him since he won the previous duel. Mihawk sees no point in challenging since shanks won before and now he is missing an arm. That's why he's obsessed with finding a worthy challenge now

I'm a bit confused on the Shanks vs Mihawk thing. I think Shanks was outright weaker than Mihawk when they had their last duel. He lost that duel. He might be the world's second strongest swordsman which is why the Marines referred to Mihawk SPECIFCIALLY as "even stronger in swordsmanship than Shanls", because Shanks is regarded by the world as a very strong swordsman, and perhaps in the world is regarded as the second strongest swordsman. I think that comment has made the comparison between the two a lot more confusing. I understand they had duels in the past and that Mihawk won their final duel and that's why he is regarded as the world's strongest swordsman, but what happened afterwards? Did Mihawk not have conquering's kings when they last fought and Shanks unlocked it after meeting Luffy? If so, did Mihawk become the world's strongest swordsman after the final duel as in defeated someone later than Shanks? Perhaps killing the individual so they aren't at the #2 spot where Shanks was slotted in just in chapter 1058? I can see both unlocking King's haki later than their duels based on Shanks's bounty being $1B, as that is not a bounty I think he would've had if he was considered #2 best swordsman with King's haki. I think the Shanks vs Mihawk debate has gotten more confusing with the implication that Shanks is the second strongest swordsman in the series. It implies that the reputation Shanks has is in part due to his swordsmanship, which would mean swordsmanship is a huge part of his power at least when it comes to repuation. If there was a different second best swordsman in the world, I think the WG would've referenced them instead. I was a neutral when it came to Yamato joining, but I do get the sentiment of why she should not join now. After two weeks over thinking it over, I think Oda made the right choice. It was unfair to Yamato to introduce her so late in the manga. The reason I prefer Vivi for example is exactly because she was the first crew member in the grand line to be introduced / if she joins during the series. She was part of the crew vs Crocodile, the first warlord that Luffy defeated. I think Yamato fit in nicely in that area as she would've been a first after the yonko. With about 144 chapters left in the series though, Yamato has little impact on the story. The cast is too large for a character like Yamato to be developed properly in the span of 144 chapters. She was introduced okay and her character arc beyond becoming her own person fit pretty well with finding a new role in the world. She felt like a child much like how Momo is, and I would've liked her exploring the world. I don't think it worked if she read Oden's journal though. She needed to be more of a Carrot type. She was so focused on being Oden that she lost her "explore the world" spirit. She knew too much from a narrative perspective. Oda made the mistake of having her have Oden's journal and it be in her possession for twenty years or so. She should 've had a couple pages at most, enough to be inspired by Oden and want to journey the seas like him, but not enough to know anything. A crucial part of her arc would've been journeying to the places Oden had in some ways / but the story has like three or four islands left. Vivi fits 100x better at this point. As a character Yamato had top 3 potential in regards to my favorite SHs, but from the story perspective she was going to be a major flaw. She should've been known about earlier, not have known nearly as much as she did, and have the spirit of Oden in the sense that she wanted to journey to LEARN as Oden did, but develop her own perspective. She already knew a ton of Oden's thoughts though, already probably knew conclusions to various questoins, etc. She was a flawed character from a narrative perspective. If she had known a lot less and was introduced earlier I think she would've fit a whole lot better. I love the mace combat idea and the ice powers. Would've fit in the crew really well there.

To add to your Shanks v Hawk thoughts, I feel like Oda makes plenty of hints that his sword is not Shanks main weapon. He has his hand on the hilt every time his conq haki goes into intimidation mode so it's seems like his sword is more a method of focusing his haki, so while Shanks has the stronger haki Mihawk would technically be the strongest swordsman since the sword is ALL he does and has mastered. As far as Yamato goes....I hate to agree with you but I have to. As interesting as she is and as much as I love the mace being a blunted version of Kaidos spike club and her doubling down on the spirit of Oden and taking on the local heroes journey it just never felt like she was a true member of the crew. It felt forced and fast...so hopefully we get a chapter or two following what she's up to tied in with what the crew is doing and THEN she joins before the major stuff at the end but for now Oda did great. It does make sense for her to know as much as she does considering her lineage and (above everything else) her STRENGTH. A kid of Kaidou just a few levels below him in strength is naturally going to get into whatever they want.

I think Garp in his prime was likely as strong as Roger and did not use any weapons at all. So technically Roger having a sword (named Ace. . .) might be akin to what Shanks is. If Roger was not the strongest swordsman in his era, I wonder who was. If he were the strongest in his era then that also adds a little intrigue into the Miawk position. It is the not knowing that makes the intrigue to be honest. I think Mihawk and Shanks are likely equal to some extent. Shanks has a crew and Mihawk does not. Shanks has a plan to change the world / Mihawk just wants peace. I feel like that is Mihawk's weakness when it comes to Haki / ambition is key to Haki strength. However if Mihawk won their final duel I think Shanks's growth in Haki came precisely from being inpsired by Luffy and precisely what drives him to grow stronger / in support of what Luffy will accomplish. Ironically this is exactly what differs Zoro from Mihawk. And it might be the inspiration Zoro has in a small sense impressed on Mihawk. Mihawk's boredom and lack of a purpose changed with the inclusion of Zoro on his island and the addition of Perona. It's an interesting path because Shanks and Mihawk are completely different characters but are counterparts. In the end Shanks may have surpassed Mihawk in terms of strength because he let go of his ambition to defeat Mihawk. Mihawk training Zoro was at first a disappintment to me, but Oda may have intended a mirror to Luffy and Shanks (for Mihawk at least), in that even though Mihawk has already accomplished the goal over Shanks, the growth here is still letting go the need to be the strongest swordsman. I don't know how deep Oda intends to write this narrative but I do like the idea from a storytelling perspective that Zoro surpasses Mihawk because he lets go of being the greatest swordsman just for the title. Zoro is aiming for the title in order to support Luffy. He will throw the title away if it meant Luffy couldn't be Pirate King. So Mihawk won the title but didn't learn what Shanks learned from not winning it and by learning what Shanks learned he will lose the title. It's a simple poetry.

the 'light that was extinguished' by imu in their reveal was to be king cobra (probably through a subordinate assassin or smth, not sure how) and they were made to place the blame on sabo to show many communities around the world who were saved by the revolutionary army from pirates that sabo is in fact bad, and so sabo had to strategically fake his death for his own safety, but the revolutionary army finally knows now that he is 'safe'. i believe imu saw king cobra as a threat because he was one of the first kings to see the good in the straw hats (lunarians) and be a direct advocate for them. this also brings up the question of how much danger the rest of the leaders that love the straw hats are in :0

If Sabo stays as we know him, the strawhat fleet + the revolution seems like enough to releastically overthrow them now. Save maybe an ancient weapon in WG hands. I just feel like the scale of power is too in our favor right now. Unless maybe Teach helps the Navy to even the scale only to betray them. But people should be wise to his backstabbing ways by now. I don't think that feels like the "end game of One Piece" we're all gunna be satisfied with.

@@alexanderbulatao8264 The scale may seem to be in the Straw Hat Fleet's favour, but remember the world government is allied with several nations who we have not yet explored, an overwhelming source of manpower could be drawn in via recruitment. Greenbull is proof of this, because not only is he relatively new to being an admiral, but he is unusually loyal and supportive of the WG and the Celestial Dragons, they're might be many like him willing to throw away their lives for the government they think is flawless. It should be the job of the revolutionary army to expose the world government and get more nations to no longer side with them. I think that would be crucial in solidifying the inevitable fall of the World Government without it feeling like a one sided stomp.

I'd say Sabo killed Cobra at Cobra's request to protect Vivi from Im and the world government, and he's protecting Vivi right now. After all the revolutionary army only goes after the leaders who abuse their people and are tyrannical. So Cobra is an unlikely target and Sabo just killing him doesn't sound right as Cobra's ideas of what a king does would line up well with Sabo's own beliefs.

I think mihawk and shanks are the same strength or shanks is barely stronger. Shanks has a crew and a direct connection to the celestial dragons and that boosts his bounty a fair bit. Mihawk is a solo with zero crew and has that insane bounty. I’m convinced that if zoro and oden could cut Kaido though then mihawk could probably cut him in half if Kaido would be overly confident and just tank a slice instead of dodging it.

I'm pretty sure when it comes to legends like them, Oda puts Mihawk along the likes of Shanks and Whitebeard. I've read it in vol 73 of SBS, I think. But yeah, I believe that they are roughly equal, it wouldn't make sense if Mihawk gets easily bodied by Shanks anyways, and it also wouldn't make sense if Shanks gets easily defeated by Mihawk.

I don't get why they treat Shanks as King (who uses a sword but doesn't claim to be a Swordsman), when Shanks has been confirmed a swordsman multiple times (to the point his swordsmanship is even compared to Mihawk). Another example... They see Shanks as Kaido, who for a brief moment took King's sword to cut Orochi's head off but clearly isn't a swordsman. Except that isn't the case for Shanks. Another example... Kaku even though he had rokushiki techniques and a df, he is still classified a swordsman. Lol, he used his rokushiki techniques and df more than his swordsmanship in both Water 7 and Enies Lobby but that didn't declassify him as a swordsman. Another example. I think Nami has conqueror haki because we never found out what war she was made orphan from, maybe she also is a princess of sort and might have conqueror haki from her lineage. I think she just does not care enough to use it to fight people because she just fights when she has to, for her own survival. Her ambition lies in keeping the boat in order as she is the navigator, including kicking Luffy's butt when he is being inconsiderate.

One possibility about why Kuma answered to Dragon and called him 'master,' which I'm surprised to have not heard yet, is that Vegapunk is deep undercover for the Revolutionary Army. This would explain a lot of Vegapunk's odd actions, like allowing Kuma to protect the Sunny, and would explain why he may have programmed in some sort of trap door into Kuma's programming to recognize Dragon on equal level to a Celestial Dragon. Really just another theory for the pile though!

I mean, having a power like Luffy's DF also takes away any depth that you can have in the series, because it reduces everything to "Well, it's just this ability that explains everything" which makes theorizing about powers pointless to begin with. Like for example, where is the end with something like Zoan type human fruits? Is Buggy's fruit actually a super strong fruit as well, the Human-Human fruit type Split-Man who was actually a legendary warrior way in the past whose powers got transferred into a DF? But not only that, if Luffy has the power to do everything he can imagine, he doesn't need imagination at all anymore. He doesn't need to think how to use his rubber ability to get ahead, because he can just literally do anything he likes. Which is actually the death of imagination. So while the idea of an imagination fruit sounds like freedom on paper, it comes with so much caveats that I am still not sure why we were even having this twist in the first place.

The Mihawk vs Shanks argument is funny to me. My take is the one we see fight second is probably stronger. If Mihawk is Zoro's final opponent I think he has to be at least equal to everyone Luffy has already surpassed. I think Zoro and Sanji are roughly one arc behind Luffy in terms of strength with Zoro being a step or two ahead of Sanji (since Oda likes to sometimes paint Zoro as equal to Luffy and sometimes equal to Sanji at need) for instance I think Kong is roughly equal to Katakuri, Zoro beat King this arc. So if we have an arc where Luffy clearly surpasses or equals Dhanks, then in the next arc Zoro fights Mihawk, to me that means Shanks and Mihawk were equals. If there are opponents in between, it would make me think Mihawk might be a bit stronger, but I put a lot of weight on narrative order of fights than displayed feats.

I think an extra page or a couple panels showing the discussion with Luffy was really needed because otherwise we're just sitting here confused about her decision.
